I think it will have a good impact on bitcoin price increases, because I understand that the world cup will have a good impact on the economy of the organizers.

Russia's BTC and legal, which means that BTC is in the fans, can make the BTC deal easily during the World Cup, the fans around the world can pay with BTC!

I think this will cause BTC to grow during the World Cup, and the encrypted digital currency will grow as well!

That's totally rubbish. That football event won't have any impact over bitcoin price.Traders would just continue to trade side by side even if they are crazy about such event.

I think with the World Cup Russia will not affect bitcoin.
The determining factor is supply and demand. That is, if many users who make a bitcoin purchase then the price will rise. Vice versa, if many are selling bitcoin then the price will decline.

I don't see it having that much of an effect. Russia don't have a strong economy and the only time they manage to affect bitcoin prices is when they spread FUD. I don't see eager tourists using their bitcoins there too, considering Russia's stance towards it.

As for traders being "distracted" by the matches,  I don't think so. They won't let that get in the way of making money and it's not like they are always glued to the exchanges screen. Even if they are, they can always check their phones during commercials.

I don't see a way in which a world football championship can affect Bitcoin's price. Perhaps it can affect some blockchain based gambling (aka "prediction market") platform.

The world cup is a soccer party all over the world, and I really like football, and I think this world cup will affect bitcoin prices and will experience price increases.

Just few weeks to go ,then world cup kick off start. Will the booming economy of Russia during the world cup affect bitcoins? Will traders gluing their eyes to TV to watch matches or attending stadium reduce the time of trading, and hence the volume in the market?  What do you also think will affect the cryptocurrency market with bitcoin specifically during upcoming world cup.

I don't think it will affect bitcoin.
Reducing the time of trading and affect the market? NO. Big traders don't leave the market for watching world cup.
I had heard a news about the hotels which will accept bitcoin during the world cup. This and similar things might affect the market. But I don't think what you mentioned will affect the market.

If the crypto being a sponsor in that event of course the price will increase. Noe crypto is not join in world cup, there's no impact that i can see. Price will keep stable just like how entered april, the price is already stable. Only can see in the end what will happen when the world cup begin.

I doubt that Russia can affect the Bitcoin market. Russia has a weak cryptocurrency market. They do not have as much influence as China, South Korea, Japan and USA.

Some events affect the increase or decrease in value of bitcoin. But that does not necessarily mean that every single one of those will have an impact on it. The world cup will not have that huge impact on bitcoin because it does not concern every people such as traders and investors in this cryptocurrency. The said event won't give Russia that great leap in its economy, which in turn will have no big relation on whether the bitcoin price will go up or go down.

We have different opinions here. Some say that it will have an effect though not that big, and some say that it won't have an effect at all. So we could say that its still uncertain whether the upcoming world cup has something to do with bitcoins value. What we should do is not always rely on the events to be the primary reason on the changing value of bitcoin.

Joke of the year!

Booming? What is booming in Russia? HIV? Poverty? Crime?
A country with 140 millions that has a GDP on match with Australia?

It's going to influence the markets just as India did.  A big fat 0!

Will traders gluing their eyes to TV to watch matches or attending stadium reduce the time of trading, and hence the volume in the market?

Half of the purchasing power from the western world lies in the US.
And Americans are not that interested in football (soccer for them), neither a lot of other countries.
Plus, the matches are just 90 minutes long, that leaves a lot of time for trading.

Hi,

It is actually an interesting question...

I didn't really think about it before, but indeed we know that huge sport event can have mass effects on the economy, within the country concerned and even further...

So, yes, that will be interesting to see if bitcoin is affected or not. And as Russia is indeed an important country for bitcoin community, the effect may be striking!

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
You can't just try and relate basically every event happening in the world to the Bitcoin price.  The Russian world cup is almost completely irrelevant.  In fact, it wouldn't even have a dramatic effect on the Russian economy (which is in a moderately bad state anyway), never mind whether people would decide to buy Bitcoin.

The problem is, if the price rises again then people will find a way to justify it even if their reason is ridiculous.  That's what they do in almost every price increase and almost every price drop.

Is this satire?

Russia's economy is not booming, it's struggling under the weight of sanctions. And I don't think many fans will travel to Russia over fears of how violent Russian football fans are. So no, it won't affect bitcoin.

Few weeks or more then 2 months until the beginning of the World Cup(June 14),and I do not see that this event can in any way affect the price of BTC.Generally speaking this competition is taking place in the summer time in the northern hemisphere,so we should consider that regardless of World Cup many will go on summer vacation, spend more time outdoors and enjoy football.

Regardless of all of the above, technology allows us to stay involved in cryptocurrency even while we are watching the match at the stadium or we enjoy the beach.I just hope there will be World Cup this year, there are high tensions between Russia and some other countries in this moment.
