Morning time in Asia.. China will dump more (panic mode, as usual, and/or the need to have a drop in price to erase yesterday's losses), be ready for. BTC price drop.

Later, Europe, then America will buy cheap BTC and the price will rise again.

China is going nuts for no reason on BTC. The value of BTC has technically increased as it became more and more difficult to get more (fiat-cryptos OFF until further notice)

Interesting times of idiocracy...

And here we go $3,950...

LOL

Some people are gonna lose a LOT of money selling at this price point.

I hope it bottoms out near 2k, I wanna add more funds but at 4k 1 btc is more valuable than some ppl vehicles lol

ICOs are not cryptocurrencies mate they are a few independent entities with no relation to their governments trying to collect Chinese money and spend it

On girls and booze, the Chinese government noticed there was too many missing girls and beers, they found out about these smart ass dev teams and now

Are stopping them from continuing, they only stop scam and junk ICOs. it had a temporary set back effect for a few hours but now we're rolling again up.

This situation resembles the 2008 financial crisis in some ways:

Before 2008 fin crisis, financial innovations were encouraged by regulators. Asset backed securities and derivatives were hot among banks. Then came the Lehman brothers crash etc. Then the overall regulation turned to very conservative. The No.1 priority is safety, not innovation. Banks were not allowed to participate futures trading altogether, not even for hedging.

History may repeat itself with ICO. The regulators have not been very tough on innovation. Unfortunately, 1. bad players pushed their limits. they run fake projects, pump&dump, manipulate the market ... 2. bad guys from traditional scams jumped in ICOs 3. too many ppl are involved. Reported 100k+ in China. Some projects (Such as EOS), the price went down too much and ppl lost $$ and filed complaints. There's a real threat of protests. That's the last thing China wants.

In the long run, this is probably a positive thing for crypto's, blockchain, ICO etc. It's good to get rid of the bad guys.

Because of the Chinese government deleted the existence of ico in their country, it badly affect our coins. Especially most of the alternative coins there is. And because of these Chinese citizens cannot deal with altcoins now. They now can't contribute to the success of ones ico.

What do you think will happen to crypto currencies following the latest news on the #ban on ICO in China?

will the already successful ICO's refund people's monies to them?

Is it good for governments to ban the use of crypto currencies?

Tell me what you think about any of these.  Smiley

As usual the market is already recovering. If anything this was a buying opportunity.  China flip flops on so many issues, hopefully the market can get to a point where it does not hang on every word of the Peoples Bank Of China.  There are credible arguments to be made on either side on wether ICOs are good for Crypto Currencies or not but in this day age if a group of people are determined to launch an ICO they still can.  There are a number of government leaders around the world that are openly inviting (or more like begging) people to come and launch their Crypto projects, ICOs, companies etc in their countries.  Singapore, Georgia (Eastern Europe), Malta and the Cayman Islands to name a few.  People will find a way and we will all look back at these days and shake our heads.

Maybe countries like China and the U.S.A. can pressure exchanges NOT to trade said ICO tokens but with the days of the decentralized exchanges upon us I don't even know how effective that would be either.  That cats out of the bag guys. Get your popcorn ready.

MONIES? it should be monies! Please do not shit post and construct your sentence well.

What do you think will happen to crypto currencies following the latest news on the #ban on ICO in China?
>Cryptocurrencies are safe on china, and they only ban ICO, with this news i think more chinese bitcoiners and chinese investors will be more focused on cryptocurrency specially bitcoin.

will the already successful ICO's refund people's monies to them?
>They did not yet announced something with this or they already did?, if we are basing on the news, i think no, they are talking about ICO only and not banning the existing coins.

Is it good for governments to ban the use of crypto currencies?
>It depends on their current system and current issues, some of the countries ban cryptocurrencies because it may cause to support terrorism and unobserved transaction that may impose as a threat to that government.
Can you tell me terorists who use cryptocurrency. I think you'd better proof that cyrptocurrencies are used by terorists. The most crypto is used to scam projects, HYIP and fake investments, drug dealling and other crimes include terorism. But you can't say crypto is for terorism. I don't like that crypto support terorism. I am not terorist, most members of bitcointalk are not terorists too. They are users of cryptocurrencies.
Please do check your sentences and your spelling, do not shitpost here and learn to use google, please do comprehend what i said don't be an idiot here.
It may cause to support terrorism ? YES, because bitcoin's reputation is not good since it was used as a form of payment on darkweb. Do your research, since bitcoin offers a security and anonymity that's why it can support terrorists.

I think this somehow as an effect, as we know there's a lot of potential investors in China and it's a big and rich country. There would be lesser investor and developer from China. This means, there's a direct effect of the banning to cryptocurrency prices especially eth,btc and waves, which are usually used to buy ICO token or coins.

China has forced its people to buy non-Chinese ICOs only.

If China doesn't ban Bitcoin, then all of the Chinese money will flow to Bitcoin, non-Chinese coins and non-Chinese ICOs.

The Chinese government is depriving their country of bringing in money from foreigner buyers of Chinese ICOs.

there is a slope of the value of bitcoin and altcoin. yes this is of course concerned with what happens to the country of china.
this is a common thing that can happen in other countries. but this will not have a big impact on bitcoin. I am sure next year will be many changes.
let's look and see.
Yesterday China announced this news, so all the altcoins price came down including Bitcoin price. But today all coins are recovering. Especially it will affect on China based coin NEO. yesterday this coin price goes too low, but today again it is gaining very fast. This type of issues will come in digital currency world. We should be calm and not get panic means we can make a good profit.

It has no significant issues that has made the price of bitcoin to go down further, maybe that's certain about of altcoin price to drop because ico is the main subject of the ban. Fluctuations really did happen due to other people who invested dumped their holdings early but not by the reasons of ICO ban in china. Price will gain it's value after sudden changes in the market and as you can see it currently it's price really been doing good and eventually coming back to it's previous higher value. Being positive is the good actions to take for now and forget those panics because we needed to surpass all the challenges that may came through.

I would say 90% of these ICOs are scams and easy way to make money. It's killing innovation from coins that would of done innovating before but have dropped so far down the rankings on coinmarketcap that they not going to bother.

ICO Steps:

1. Come up with a great idea that's impossible to implement with the caliber of people behind the project.
2. Set the value high for the amount of tokens that will be created.
3. Automatically get into the top 100 on coinmarketcap so suckers take notice and buy in thinking it's something special.
4. Eventually they sell enough and move onto the next ICO idea that they will never implement.
5. Rince and repeat

Yeah, the only effect it made was on the price of bitcoin, and making too many ICO's close down.
But i think we only care about the bitcoin price, it suffered a lot. It went from $4800 to $4000 in just two days, at least 20% of loss.
At the moment the price is recovering, but almost all the alcoins are down too.
The only benefit for us is that alts/btc is very cheap rigth now, si this is a buy opportunity to buy

Right now the markets are low, sure, but they will go back up really soon IF we're not descending into a bear market. It really all depends on how good this months ICO's will be, as they might restore a lot of trust in the market if they go well

i think, with generally bad news reverberating across the ecosystem all cryptos have turned red together.

yes, it's good the governments forbids cryptocurrency. why?
1. will have an impact on the stability of the native currency in this country.
2. much abused for criminal acts.
