At most this season they will win the Premier League and Champions League but if they end the season as EFL Cup winners and Premier League winners it will not be enough because of the money they spent to build their team.
As brilliant a coach Guardiola is, at Manchester City he will always be judged on winning or failing to win the Champions League. Guardiola won the Champions League twice as manager of Barcelona in 2009 and 2011 both victories in the finals against Manchester United. That team was dominated by Xavi, Iniesta and Messi but Guardiola failed to win the Champions League at Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Congratulations to Manchester City for winning.
I agree with of what you said but I think this EFL Cup isn't all too important anyway. It's not really prestigious in my eyes. At least both teams played with their best quads.
As for the money argument you brought up, well, that's quite the same for Paris SG. One team that spends absolutely insane amounts on players will lose this semi final. It's billionaires against billionaires, so one of them has to lose.
Fc Barcelona between 2009 and 2011 was probably the best soccer team that ever existed. Their dominance of other top teams was out of this. Champions League is tough and also driven by at least some luck. When Real Madrid won it three times in a row, they were lucky in a good number of games.
On thing is for sure: it is going to be exciting the next couple of weeks!
