I'm not sure how they will implement Bitcoin through an embassy where it is not actually allowed. Although Bitcoin is prohibited in my country, I'm not sure whether there is an embassy for El Salvador here. Therefore, even though there is an embassy, we cannot use it. Even citizens of El Salvador who choose to stay in my nation must abide by the rules. Therefore, I don't think it's useful in jurisdictions where using Bitcoin is prohibited.

It is nice to see that EL Salvador are still encouraging and using btc despite btc going through a rough time in the last year...

Good point, we must remember how they buy when bitcoin price was high, and they are losing money with bitcoin at this point, but they believe in the technology. And that's why they keep investing in it and trying to make it a global currency.

Maybe they was too earlier for the dream, but it must become a reality one day, bitcoin will be recognized as a currency around the globe at some point in history.

It is nice to see that EL Salvador are still encouraging and using btc despite btc going through a rough time in the last year. I hope that this will encourage others to follow suit and adopt Bitcoin. I know many years ago companies adopted btc and then removed it when the price fell. I think wikipedia was one of the organizations to adopt btc then drop it when the price dropped. A big country like EL salvador doing this can only help the growth of btc and shows that you can weather the price drops.

Actually, the now three month old article referenced in the OP is rather succinct in details, but also seemingly prone to exaggeration. As far as I recall, they are not opening Salvadorian bitcoin embassies (an embassy has tons of legal implications), but rather more, it seems like an informal name that has been tossed around to denote a sort of chamber of commerce to attend to business pivoting around bitcoin. The Spanish version of the same article does include quotes around the concept of a "Bitcoin Embassy", which brings the tone down a notch.

I was about to point that out for ops, but the article and the news was over-exaggerated and making look as if El Salvador does not have or establish embassies in another country before their bitcoin adoption.

The title of the thread is what got my attention, and reading through the link makes me silly as this is more of an article than it is a news or government policy.

The Embassy establishment is a fundamental right and duty of countries to strengthen their International relation and aid faster communication between countries, so El Salvador may decide to accept Bitcoin as payment in the embassy for services such as visa payment, international ID processing and lot of other payments that are generated through their Embassy in any country.

El Salvador have got big plan and they've taken courageous decision with the adoption of bitcoin as legal tender. Many countries fear of the decision and criticised El Salvador. They were strong on their stand, amidst all criticism and opposition it keeps adding more things relative to bitcoin. Already most of the Western nations were not against cryptocurrency, and most have announced their legal stand on bitcoin usage. Now El Salvador extending the service will make more countries announce the legality on the usage of bitcoin.

Switzerland and European nations are already friendly with Bitcoin so El Salvador don't change anything in Switzerland with this action.

It is only kind of noise on media that is good generally and for Bitcoin adoption too but I disagree if saying like El Salvador and their Embassy in Switzerland are changing a whole Bitcoin adoption there.

It's not just the Bitcoin adoption in El- Salvador but it's also some other countries accepting Bitcoins on their own , I recently went to Budapest, Hungary and there was an amazing Bitcoin cafe!!
Blockchain is future of human civilization and Bitcoin is a king in blockchain industry so it is normal to see it almost everywhere.

Did that Bitcoin cafe accept their payments in both Bitcoin mainnet and Bitcoin Lightning Network?

When it comes to El-Savador, i believe they have veen engaging on ecery possible means to make bitcoin adoption a common thing that could be easily acquired by everyone, their target first was within the country whereby they ensure every single citizens have the opportunity to benefit from it, going further, maby countries around the world have find it an interesting act in taking a tourist visit to El-Savador to learn and acquire more about bitcoin and if they also decided in extending this goodnees to other countries is of a great advantages to them and the world at large, but the wrong i see about this thread is that it could have been under the El-Savador's bitcoin adoption thread here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/el-salvador-has-become-the-first-country-to-make-bitcoin-legal-tender-5342087 instead of creating a new one.

Thanks you very much for pointing it out but I made a very serious vigorous research before I created the thread. There are many threads on the subject matter but you made mentioned of only one. Such as:
1. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/first-bitcoin-city-5372455
2. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/el-salvador-has-become-the-first-country-to-make-bitcoin-legal-tender-5342087
3. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-es-volcano-bond-and-were-afraid-to-ask-5377037
Rethink again which of them is suitable for the Op subject? Normally, I don't like to create threads.

It's not just the Bitcoin adoption in El- Salvador but it's also some other countries accepting Bitcoins on their own , I recently went to Budapest, Hungary and there was an amazing Bitcoin cafe!! They were just accepting Bitcoins and ETH, even though I had to transfer and had to pay like 10$ instantly for p2p fee , I decided to support their small business and it was amazing. Slowly the countries are adopting Bitcoins and that's the reality and in the upcoming years wed can expect so many amazing things !! Thus it's important to promote Bitcoins since it's the only way we would be able to get out of the capitalism. It would be wiser to start with small businesses and ask them if they would accept the Bitcoins ! And teach new generation all about it.

Yes sometimes users create extra threads but I do understand it's not just copying most of the time understandably some of them gets lost in the array of new threads thus no harm as long as it's a positive news.

It is no longer a news that El Salvador president adopted bitcoin in the month of September 2021. And for them to progress in economics they have to extend bitcoin adoption to their embassies in other countries. Which means bitcoin will be officially used in the embassies across the world. The first country that the bitcoin embassy is built is Switzerland. A legislature of El Salvador made the pronouncement.
Quote
“My fellow Salvadorans and I are very excited by the promise of Bitcoin, and I look forward to seeing how this initiative will help increase access to economic security and economic freedom for all,” said Mayorga.

El Salvador Opens a Bitcoin Embassy in Switzerland

El Salvador will be a Great Nation
