Nigeria is one of the countries that make election period a time to have enemity all over because they believe election can never be free and fair, and therefore, blood must be shed to get into certain political positions. It has been the way they operate,so the 2023 election is already giving heat about what will come.
There is no country across The Nation that during their election periods of that particular nation that enemies of not come around so I believe that they must have enemies in order to have an opponent during an election so it is satin it does not mean that Nigeria government he the worst so far because what is happening in Nigeria is also happening in another country qualities and especially during an election
You can only say what you know and don't say what you don't know this particular place is a place that will make a suggestion based on what we have known already or what we have experience so making a baba and respond is not really nice or ID from my own understanding

In this our country we take the things that are not serious too serious, because the youths are ready to kill each other just to do the biddings of the politicians. Election is never a period where you throw your anger on a different set of people all in the name of party this party that, at the end we end up making the wrong decision and cry for 4yrs.

The question is, why don't we think as one and cast our vote on the candidate of our choice without fighting or killing ourselves for no reason? No amount of money politicians will give to us to cause havock on the election day that will last till the end of there tenor, eventually they'll see us as terrorist or something bad.

It happens in most countries, not just Nigeria, but just Nigeria that leaders don't care about their youth, well-being, having jobs, or anything else good in their life, so when it's time for election the youth take it do or die just for them to fight for the right person to change their country. When it comes to elections, Nigerian citizens fight for their rights and what will come in the future while the candidate wins the election.
to me , youths are the major problem Nigeria,. Their have not really decided on the fortune of the country. The politicians are just using the youths to gain their political ambitions, and when they get into power they forget then.

Election should free an devoid of Crises, that's what democracy is all about. Not the way Nigeria politicians are known for, they see politics as do and die affairs. Because it's only career that's paying more than any business in Nigeria.

Our politicians has make us to believe that election in Nigeria is do-or-die affair because they are ready to spend their last breath to get power, incite tribal and religion violence among the citizens, just take time and listen to All their campaign rallies you will differentiate them

Even as hate speech is an offence in Nigeria but it doesn't affect the political class is only applicable to the common citizens, Nigeria is in its what state now

At one time, the Nigerian people lost hope in the electoral process because they believed it couldn't be free and fair. Our political elites see election day as war day to take power, which they believe is everything. We believe there will be a revolution this time because of the new electoral law.

If the salaries of political office holders in Nigeria are not too enormous then election wouldn't be a do or die affair.

The election is only a month and few weeks away and the tension in the country seems to add more pressure. No one knows what to expect but from previous elections which has been bloody with lots of horrible and terrifying experience many will stop their loved ones from exercising their  franchise. Nigeria strongly need interventions ahead of the election else it might record the worst casualties ever.

Let’s be hopeful of the election this time around in Nigeria. It’s true that they’ve had bad situations in elections period many times before now, but I’m hopeful that a change will occur this time around. Other countries are experiencing this especially the developing countries that are fighting for supremacy within themselves. I just hope the African continent will emulate from other developed countries on how they conduct their elections.
I join faith with you brother, this time this election will be free from violence. The New electoral acts of 2022 give INEC full independent to operate. I
I believe we shall witness less violence and high turnout of voters

When government is corrupt, voting and elections are corrupt. Voting simply means that you agree with the system that promotes voting. And that is all that a government that makes voting mandatory is looking for... the appearance of support for their system.

Voting doesn't generally correct corruption. Rather, it often enhances the corruption.

It's nothing new, political seats in developing countries are mostly contested no longer on the basis of a humanitarian call. Starting from residents who lack awareness about how to do politics in a healthy way, they are very fanatical towards candidates from their group so that they can do primitive methods (shedding blood) either during the pre-election or post-election.

I think it's a situation for many other countries where the elections are considered a do-or-die scenario. So it's up to the country's people to take the step to ensure free and fair elections. But unfortunately, people prefer to fight rather than take steps for smooth and creamy elections.

We Nigerians are more equipped to safeguard Nigerians from electoral violence than any amount of foreign NGOs. Any violence during the upcoming election must be held accountable by each of us. Youths need to cease serving as thugs for politicians. Nigeria has seen enough violence; we need to speak out against anything that could lead to election violence. To ensure that there is peace, we need to communicate with the political parties.

I think this is just the same as many underdeveloped and developing nations out there. I later blame the people very much, it is the effect on a people whose government and occupants of public services meant to serve the people have used there position to instill suffering on its people, use that for a tool to direct the actions and thoughts.

This has been the idea for a long time but the people have gotten to its yield or breaking point and are now resisting. Times are changing and there would be a time for free, fair and an election where the blood of innocent citizens won't be spilled.

It's become a norm for humans to attach the use of force to achieve anything and it's now looking like it's Nigeria that is taking this phrase "the violent taketh it by force" more seriously. Just like most of us have tried to only limit this do-or-die attitude to just election, I'd say from observation, it affects all spheres of life.

The baffling thing is that after we have achieved what we want using force, we still lack contentment and then I ask myself, what was the point in the first place??🤔🤔🤔

In Nigeria, almost everything is a life-or-death situation. The system is set up in such a way that no one plays fairly. Politicians engage in all kinds of inconceivable behavior to win elections, including using armed thugs and bribing the police and other security personnel, even the army. Politics has been left in the hands of outcasts who view it as a way to enrich themselves and gain enormous power rather than as a way to help others. Some of them even go so far as to dress their hired goons in security uniforms so that voters won't see them during the election. When they arrive at a polling location, they intimidate or drive away voters before carrying the ballots to a location where they will thumbprint and record the results in favor of their principals.

Not only elections but even religious and educational pursuits are suddenly life or death situations. Students would engage in all manner of immoral behavior in order to pass an exam. One example is a female student who was caught sleeping with her professor. People are battling on religion alone, with Christians killing Muslims and Muslims killing Christians because they don't worship the same deity. In Nigeria, nothing is working.

Hired thugs paid to follow someone about at all times, and while doing so, they kill and damage property to seize control the ballot materials. In this World Party, an election is viewed as a do-or-die situation.
It's no news that these participating candidates would do all it takes to make the election go in their favor to the extent of employing the assistance of the Force; hence the insistence of the Chief of Defense Staff to all forces to try and stay away from involving themselves in any form of election violence.
2023 will be a tough one and I hope it ends favorably.
