I came here to inform the ELP crowd of my conversations with exchange owners and major devs, but apparently they don't care about exchanges or reach. They jumped all over me in multiple threads and repeated over and over, "don't mine ELP!"
If you are looking to keep your sanity, I wouldn't ask too many questions in this thread (logic is the enemy in here.)
So who you believe is the dev here asked you not to mine? We welcome anyone to mine this coin. We are the same great community, and please no more arguments, all our intentions are for the success of ELP.
The "they" I was referring to in my post was "the ELP crowd" -- the exchange owners and major devs are the people I spoke with who told me that due to the premine, they had no interest in Elephantcoin. I came back here (disappointed) to report my findings as I'd been mining ELP pretty consistently up until that point and just realized it may have all been for nothing!
For literally stating what I was told by the owners of the major exchanges and a couple of the devs I was hoping to recruit for a major ELP project, the ELP fans in this thread flipped out on me. All I did was repeat what I heard directly from the source. It was very odd...and they simply could not be reasoned with.
Unfortunate...but that's all I'm saying. I offered suggestions to the dev to help give ELP value (in turn, making their holdings more valuable even if they had less.) At this pace, the premine will defeat the purpose of the premine (for the dev to make a profit) because that very premine is what is destroying the value of ELP (hurting the dev and everybody that's been mining.)
Now I'm not saying it's the worst coin or the worst premine etc/etc -- people put these words into my mouth. I mined this coin...and was disappointed that the people with the power to give this coin value are excluding it due to the premine. That's a fact...whether I agree with the fairness of it or not (which, to be honest, I don't.)
I did have fun mining this coin (awesome for solo-mining) but at the end of the day I can't justify continuing to mine something that could end up worthless. The hardware costs and power costs required to mine are real and there is plenty of profit to be made out there on coins that are quickly adopted by the major exchanges and have zero premine.
I don't make the rules...but the people in this thread shot the messenger. It was extra alarming when I read those responses and realized the only people left mining ELP are apparently legally insane! If Elephantcoin turns around, I'll be right back mining it. Can't take a chance at this point though as I've heard nothing promising.
