a few days ago I read the news that Elon failed to buy all Twitter shares because the prince from Arabia was reluctant to sell the shares he owned to Elon but yesterday I read the news that Elon managed to buy all Twitter shares.
What is certain is that now he is more flexible to control the crypto market because Twitter is one of the most influential social media platforms in the crypto world. I have bad thoughts because so far he only cares about doge  Roll Eyes

Good news if actually what he said about free speech would be achieved, Twitter has for sometime now and somehow go against freedom of expression by removing people's twits and even to the extent of removing and banning president Donald trump from using Twitter, which is one reasons for using social media.
But for impact on Bitcoin we are yet to know how it's going to impact Bitcoin's price positively.

Indeed, since Elon Musk officially bought twitter 100%, the price of bitcoin and Dogecoin has also gone up, up more than 4%. Well, the question for all of us is that can Elon Musk stop Pumping and Dumping the prices of Dogecoin and Bitcoin?
The answer will be yes and no Grin

As we know, Elon can provoke people to move prices, which has been proven by the rise of Dogecoin some time ago. And this time, with Elon's purchase of Twitter, I wonder if this will eventually become a place to announce the pumping and dumping of cryptocurrency prices or a place for free speech, as Elon said after he bought Twitter. We'll see what Elon and his team will do later.

I don’t think Elon cares much about the price of dogecoin or Bitcoin. He has come out against web3 though, so this is a big hit to ETH & NFTs, and will probably lead to tipping on twitter in dogecoin, so it will likely be good for that. I imagine that will make him popular with his fans again and lead to an increasing value of dogecoin. I wouldn’t say he’s pumping it though and even if he was, in the past he has stated that while at time he may pump crypto, he never dumps it.  I don’t think it’s too hard to believe that he wants to do good and make money, and this twitter purchase seems to enable both for him.

I don't mind him doing this.Trump is an entertaining person and almost nobody takes him seriously nowadays(after he got vaccinated and he supports Ukraine).
Buying Twitter is an extravagant decision for Musk, but he is so rich that he couldn't care less about other people's opinions.
I'm sure that he didn't buy Twitter with the only intent of making profits.Maybe he wants to develop Twitter into a better social media platform, which is a joke, because all social media platforms are bad,if you ask me.

If his claims are true, make Twitter better and free speech then surely former president Trump's account will be restored. Elon has expressed an interest in the social networking platform since 2017, so his twitter acquisition is not just to shill a coin for profit, he certainly had his own plans. Twitter is considered as the preferred social network of crypto investors, I think Elon owning Twitter will be a good thing for the market.

If I were a Twitter user, one thing I'd be worried about is that Elon's statements make it sound like he might want to "KYC" everyone to eliminate "bots".
Last time I checked you couldn't sign up on twitter without giving up your phone number and while that is not exactly KYC but it is pretty far from being anonymous already.
Besides, at the end of the day regardless of the owner of twitter, it is still a centralized platform and will be forced into obeying whatever crazy demands the US regime dictates which has always been against any kind of privacy. Wink

From what you understand of Elon musk buying Twitter, what's your takes of Elon musk buying it. I feel that Elon don't have what it will take to understand and control Twitter now except it will make advance of Twitter by adding things new to its own technology,or do you think Twitter will start generating money as it's under popular and influencer like elon musk
One thing that I think about when Elon Musk gets involved it's always an opportunity for him and it seems like he got some plans about it. This might be connected to the crypto market again since we know that Twitter did put some tipping button so I think this is one of his plan in the future and also he might want to fix the messy platform and do some upgrading or something to the platform.

I wonder what would be the results of Twitter when he start putting some tweets. Grin

I'm really curious what will happen to Twitter when it's 100% controlled by Elon Musk...

I have been using Twitter for a long time and admire it more than any other social media because on Twitter we can freely express our opinion (based on my experience) even though a lot of pornographic content is still posted (in some countries it is taboo) but there are limits that are applied. hope it's true, that Elon will make Twitter even better.

It's momentarily funny to watch some leftists freak out about this, but this is probably a bad thing long-term. Elon might end up improving Twitter as a platform, but I don't consider Twitter to be particularly important. And Twitter will end up being a massive distraction for Elon, whose genius could be better applied to so many other things. It's impossible to run this sort of platform while pleasing everyone, so he's going to end up hated by the public and targeted by politicians in the same way as Zuckerberg, even if Elon's policies for Twitter are somewhat different than Zuckerberg's for Facebook. He's going to piss off 70% of people no matter what he does. This also seems like part of a trend of Elon becoming increasingly interested in politics, and playing the political game is a massive waste of anyone's time.

It'll probably end up being a huge waste of money, as well. Twitter has always been a garbage company for investors, and it's hard to imagine him improving Twitter's business enough to make it worth what he paid.

If I were a Twitter user, one thing I'd be worried about is that Elon's statements make it sound like he might want to "KYC" everyone to eliminate "bots". This I think goes in exactly the wrong direction. One of the main reasons social media has been so poisonous to society is that people feel like they are constantly on a stage. We need more outlets where people can say what they actually think and see what others actually think, without any fear of being "cancelled". We need more anonymous communication, not less.

Tipping can change many things. It requires only few updates and patches here and there in the code so that investors and common people can be happy about their holdings.

Not to undermine the difficulty of developing features on apps — but mate, tipping with DOGE is very likely just having a QR code, a wallet address, or a deep link. It's not as complicated as the Lightning tipping feature they implemented.

Trump said he won't coming back even if he gets unbanned and that he will stay on Truth. Then again, who in the right mind believes what he says. But even if he comes back, I don't see a problem with that.

I'm sure that he didn't buy Twitter with the only intent of making profits.Maybe he wants to develop Twitter into a better social media platform, which is a joke, because all social media platforms are bad,if you ask me.
Profit + extra influence that owning Twitter will bring him. That sums it up I think, I don't believe that its all about free speech as he wants to represent it.

Twitter most toxic? I guess you never checked whats happening on 4chan, Twitter is like kindergarten compared to that.

I heard Elon Musk's plan to buy Twitter at the end of 2021, this has been widely reported in the online media and now that the plan is happening, I hope there will be big changes on Twitter especially in terms of support by accepting cryptocurrencies for advertising payments and of course the next step is the presence of Twitter Coin.

So what do you use to fund the platform, if you remove the advertisers? ===> Subscriptions & Donations  Roll Eyes  Musk has expressed support for a subscription model, but wants it to be cheaper than it currently is now.  Roll Eyes
But Twitter already has subscription model via Twitter Blue for several months now, so subscription model is not something new. If Musk introduces subscription only model, then I could agree with you that will indeed be the end of Twitter as we know it, but I really doubt something like that will happen as he would end up loosing the money instead making, which is the point of him buying the Twitter and not to shill some shitcoins as he can already do that anyway.

What I can see happening is some hybrid model maybe, like option to remove adds by paying subscription, like YouTube is doing for example. Either way, I am not fussed about all this at all and I think it doesn't matter when it comes to bitcoin if we look at the it from the long term point if view.

Big yawn for me. Couldn't care less if Elon buys Twitter or TikTok or more bitcoin

Am I the only one who felt the bile rise in my throat reading crap like "where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated"? I think the other bits are all good -- not to mention now we'll probably finally see actual crypto utility in Twitter, all be it shiba or whatever (damn, more bile rising) -- but no need to precede profit intents with vainglorious claims of importance on behalf of those actually doing something about "humanity".

Big yawn for me. Couldn't care less if Elon buys Twitter or TikTok or more bitcoin.

Elon sure does tweet about DOGE from time to time, but are people actually expecting some DOGE integration? I mean I wouldn't be surprised if they integrated DOGE tipping, but is tipping even something THAT major? I don't think even the bitcoin tipping is being used that much at all.

Tipping can change many things. It requires only few updates and patches here and there in the code so that investors and common people can be happy about their holdings. DOGE is one of the coin which is under influence of Elon and it all started with the Twitter only. Since ELON is stuck with the discussion of bitcoin mining and its affect on the environment, DOGE gets the primary place to be used in the Twitter. Apart from this, his already in possession of huge amount of DOGE for SpaceX mission too.

Big surprises ahead, Twitter, DOGE, SpaceX, Elon, People = could burst into new ATH or could go to trash can.

So what happens to FREE SPEECH ..if he takes this private? Does that mean the people who cannot afford the subscription will not have FREE SPEECH?
You might wanna read on the definition of free speech.

The success of FREE Social media platforms are rooted in the accessibility of those platforms and not the barrier to entry that are placed to only allow certain people (with money) to have access to it.
I don't think that I heard anywhere that Twitter will become subscription only platform, care to share some more info or links about that? Unless you are talking about Twitter Blue that gives some extra features but that thing has been around for months now.

This might just be the beginning of the end for Twitter.... so let's see what happens.  Roll Eyes
The most vocal in their cries that this is the end of Twitter are sjw/woke and other "liberals" that are threatening to quit Twitter etc, which reminded me of the very similar situation from several years ago when very same people said that if Trump wins elections that they will leave United States. And as we know, nothing really happened and I don't expect to see any drastic changes when it comes to Twitter either. Imho, people are just overreacting and are so easily triggered with everything.

A simple Google will give you the answer to your question :

https://time.com/6170494/elon-musk-fix-twitter-plans/  - I quote : " But are Musk’s goals actually feasible? Can he really transform Twitter into a less-moderated forum where free speech flourishes—and at the same time make it a service that generates more revenue from subscribers than advertisers?

In a earlier tweet from Elon Musk that was deleted, he argued for the removal of all ads from Twitter, writing, “The power of corporations to dictate policy is greatly enhanced if Twitter depends on advertising money to survive.”

So what do you use to fund the platform, if you remove the advertisers? ===> Subscriptions & Donations  Roll Eyes  Musk has expressed support for a subscription model, but wants it to be cheaper than it currently is now.  Roll Eyes
