Many refer to social networks extremely negatively. But I think that social networks are a necessity in today's reality. We can learn very quickly news and discuss. I read news from friends whom have not seen for more than 10 years. I do not want to give it up.
The problem with security and manipulation of public opinion is already a completely different side of the coin. I absolutely support Elon Musk's decision. I hope Zuckerberg will ponder and understand that the problem exists.

I am one wonder why he did it now? Maybe he saw how Paul Durov protects the confidentiality of personal data of users in Russia? It has long been known that your personal data on Facebook have been available to many special services. I just have one question. Why now?

Well Facebook has been gaining a lot of users and this kind of incident would be like a drainage of its life rapidly. Like I can't even enter my sensitive information at any social media because of the risks involved of doing that like when you post your name then people would just google your whole name then your name will appear in the search engine in Facebook. Now combining with this incident? I think people will start to request for deletion (not deactivation) of their account if these kinds of issues weren't handled properly soon.

This person is the only one who is responsible for the dream of mankind about its progress, for a long time people dreamed of the cosmos but then it disappeared somewhere, something went wrong, we were sent somewhere in the wrong direction but now this person is making heroic efforts behind him watching the whole world , he promises to make free Internet,
know I'm not at all disappointed about Facebook is the old technology, it's no longer effective, it closed the old and not effective

This is the reason that the owner of Facebook became billionaire in just a few years. We cannot safe our data. The only solution to secure your data is to quit all accounts of Facebook and never use it again. So the management of Facebook will be unable to reach you anymore. The decision of Elom Musk is quite good and in favor of him. All our data is using by Facebook management.

Today Elon Musk closed all of his company pages on the site and Cambridge Analytica is in a lot of trouble: https://medium.com/algebraix-data/will-data-privacy-be-the-death-of-facebook-3adb383a9aae

With that said, I think we all know that our personal data is being used for profit. This really begs the question: how can we protect our data??

I think that these recent events have opeyyned the door for projects like Algebraix where they're a permission-based advertising platform. You get paid to watch ads and provide info for advertisers. https://algebraix.io/

Thoughts on this??

Facebook went overboard with their action but they have admitted and apologise what else do we need from them exactly? We blame Facebook but forgot to blame the powerful people and politicians who use this data for their of selfish gains. The fact is , if Facebook didn't let go of the details, they can get it from somewhere else with the right amount of funds and what is the different between what government is doing, just hiding under the law to do their own.
More people are overloading facebook because of their mistakes,I really agree with you that they do not see anyone else's mistake other than facebook or the government that set the policy but what the government interfere in this matter sir? advertising is very important to us and those who adopt it earn income so as to spin the financial sphere
Quitting Facebook is not a solution quitting internet is the solution and that is not possible. Then we will have to prepare ourselves that our personal date will be used by Google and Facebook and we cannot stop them because we have no control. The only controls to quit internet and we will never do this because we need internet for our daily life. It is now necessary.

I think everyone should say goodbye to Facebook at this point. Who really needs facebook? It's just been used to spam people, share clickbait and turn all of our daughters into wannabe swimsuit models

Efforts of Elon changes the world in rocket science but what is use of his invention on blockchain or bitcoin industry. We need a people and investors who actually helps the bitcoin for long time.
In that aspects what is the role of him mate. I really do not understand about this at all.
If he goes out of Facebook community is there anything gonna affect the market in positive and negative way.

I think this is gonna be the end of FB if they don't fix it quickly (but how can they fix it? Many data has missused)
This is the thing with services like Facebook once that information has been compromised there is no way to fix it, they may fix the security hole that caused that information to be leaked but they are never going to be able to retrieve the information that was lost, which show to us the great dangers of using a centralized service like Facebook, if you can avoid it do it you'll be safer that way.

Yes I think it's time that facebook loses some of its power. I already looked into Algebraix and it looks very promising as a project.

The team is great, idea is stellar, and I like that they have a beta out already.

As far as I know they also have an airdrop going on right now for 15,000 ALX tokens. Thanks for sharing I'll be sure to join this one and try out their app

I haven't heard about algeraix nor tried it but will look upon since you are advertising it. About Elon Musk moved about #deletefacebook means that he's not trusting Mark Zuckerberg's creation any longer. This is why we have to protect ourselves with the platforms that we are using. We mustn't provide too much information or identity that can be used against us and can be profitable to others. This also how googles are gathering data from their users and sells it to the advertisers.
