The only good news I know of is the block size increase from 1MB to 2MB, that will at least double the price.

yes bitcoin increase its price reach to $1000 in the end of 2016 , because there is halving occur and this halving happen will decrease the supply of bitcoin and increase the demand of bitcoin then bitcoin get more increase its price to higher value .
The price is stable for a long time around $650 to $670. Now it has been showing small variation in price, this gradual increase might take the price towards $750-$800 by the end of this year.

that was a very sudden rise that obviously needed a correction to come after it. hence the stable $650+ price now.
and yeah, there is no hurry because whales are in hyurry since they are accumulating bitcoin at cheap prices for the next round of rises.
