Thank you icopress for running this Wasabi Wallet reviews thread. It offered a wide array of differing experiences from those that used testnet to those that deposited but did not coinjoin as well as those that used most facilities including coinjoin.

I hope the feedback helps the Wasabi Wallet developers as they continue updating and improving the service  Wink

I would like to hear their response to all these suggestions, did they get what they wanted. now we are all connected in some way  Cheesy, why not be involved in further development?

So I want, I decide to send funds. I'd like to send them via LN.
Can not be done.
Withdraw via LN? Can not be done.if any of wasabi team want to comment it, can and i response kindly.. because i love wasabi (i try samurai too)

Isn't this feature only available on partially or fully custodial wallet ? Except they also add option to receive via LN or more send bitcoin to an address you don't own have the private keys to which the wallet would in return credit you with its equivalent on LN ?

My Review;

Truth be told, I've also been using Samurai Wallet on android phone for well over 2 years or thereabout and I first got to read about it with a post Lauda recommending it to a user, then I gave it try and I barely looked back ever since.

The first thing that draw mean to this is the conjoin which is also a feature available on Samurai wallet but I've never used it because I've never needed to.

Now let's get to Wasabi Wallet;

Installation and Design.

- I downloaded the program and ran it on a Windows 11 Pro Edition.
- The installation process was seamless and pretty straight forward, It couldn't have been any easier.
- The UI (user interface), the user interface is good, at least that of the wallet set up preference and having both light and dark theme is also nice.
- The UX (user experience) isn't so great imo, it's not beginner friendly to be honest, it is quite stressful to navigate through the wallet and the buttons being spread on all corners of the wallet is also an eyesore, making it somewhat mentally/experience stressful, it's better to have all the buttons aligned on just one side of the wallet (perhaps left), it would make it less clumsy and uncoordinated.
- The search function is highly helpful and somewhat complements the clumsiness of the wallet page.

Functions

- As other users have emphasized prior, the 12 seeds phrase is less secure between able to choose a different amount of words phrase for a wallet that is all about privacy and security should prioritized.
- I like that another layer of privacy with Network Anonymization (TOR) was an added option, provided it's actually functional, but the connection status thus show that TOR is running and also the numbers of peers connected
- During my first installation, I didn't add a password, because I wanted to set it as fast as possible but I discovered I could not add or change my password after setting it up, so I had to set it up over again, but still after the password has been set one cannot change it again, It's better to have the option of being able to change without necessarily needing to set up the wallet again.
- I like how simple and very explanatory the tx sending page and tx preview are, they are very explicit and would prevent any form of possible sending mistake, be it amount, address or even overpaying for a transaction.

NB: I used testnet network so I really couldn't get the detailed function of the coinjoin feature or how it works on the testnet, because my transactions are having just two number of outputs, the receieving and then address (Mine) which receives the change, and the privacy progress remains at a 0%, but when I switche back to mainnet it does shows a 100% privacy.

**I'll also try to use the coinjoin feature on the Mainnet in a couple of days, I don't want to withdraw from an exchange just for this reason alone, so I'll update this post provided I have additional observations and suggestions.

Conclusion:
My opinion is that Wasabi Wallet is still a bit far from a finished product, although idea behind it is great enough to consider it the first choice wallet on my PC since I don't have wallet I use on it.

I downloaded WasabiWallet 2.0.1.3 for MACOS 10.15+ INTEL
The DMG file was easy to download and install. It has an easy setup steps and user friendly GUI.  I will also commend the developers for the brief description of what features the wallet has, it  serves as a guide both to individuals new to Bitcoin and Bitcoin investors as well on what they stand to gain from using the Wasabi wallet.

Wasabi has an easy wallet setup options making recovering wallet with seed phrase much easier and creating new new wallet less time consuming.

Of all the options listed to add a wallet i could not connect to is the hardware wallet because i haven't gotten myself one.
Creating a new wallet was easy and the three random seed phrase confirmation made a huge improvement on other non-custodial wallets but the limitation is the inability to extend seed phrase. Importing wallets and recovering wallets were pretty much easy to setup. I tried all three and was able to create new wallet, recover and import my wallets  from my files and through my seed phrase excellent  but i could not find my balance a new address was generated for me on my recovered wallet address and i couldn't view balance or my used address i was thinking i would have been prompted with a message to either retain my old address or generate a new one.

The extra security provided is another plus which means even if my system isn't passworded my wallet is giving me some extra privacy and security. I will suggest if finger print can be added to the security measure this way it will give users options of what security pattern to chose.
This can just be an added functionality for uniqueness in wallet feature

However the search menu seems incomplete because it only provides information within the wallet. There should be an added feature like searching for key words on google or any other search engine. Example a link to what coinjoin mean so that even an average Bitcoin user can look up for words using the search engine.

It took  longer time to download and process Bitcoin network data on my pc. I have to reopen the wallet twice and checked my settings yet nothing changed.

Variety of wallet addresses is another point of concern. So far the wallet only provides Bech32, If Bech32m (taproot) or Base58 (P2SH-sigwet) addresses it can improve on business transactions to transact securely as well with

Making deposit on Wasabi
I made my first deposit so to better have a feel of the wallet, my first observation about the wallet is the inability to click on the amount of coin i wish to send from my wallet, i had to go back to write out the value of coin i wished to send before making the transfer. It will be nice if Wasabi wallet has a button for max and min amount saving the time of going back to do some calculation of coin before executing transactions.

Alternatively instead of using a transfer button to alternate between USD and BTC each should have their separate columns for each option

The detailed explanation of the transaction using a preview receipt made the wallet exceptional as well as how i could customise the receivers address with a name incase of future transaction made tx more fun.

In conclusion
  • The wallets should get extra wallet addresses and a QR code
  • The seed phrase should have an option to extension
  • The tx menu should have max and min amount on both the USD and BTC buttons [/b]
[/b] The search menu should have a direct link to a web browser for detail explanation of some key terms on the wallet[/b]

Incipit

I finally have the opportunity to have my say on a wallet that I use and that I would like to improve, and I am sure that my outburst will be read (thanks)

I approached wasabi wallet because I was very enticed by the coinjoin option, which promises a high level of privacy. I talked about this option with fellow computer forensic experts who work for the police. CoinJoin is a pain in the ass for them. Confirm the goodness of the idea.

However wasabi wallet, although it is exceptional for this, it is far from being the wallet I would like. There are many small things that don't suit me and that I would like to change (for the better) for the good of the wallet itself, not for my whim nor to be able to write this review. Because as I said before, I used wasabi.

Start

The setup process is fast (yes I had to do it again, with the excuse I installed in another machine, the office one).
It proceeds quickly without hitches and without breaking the boxes.

the user experience is simplified, few buttons and very large. A user who is not good at the computer is not lost. Good. Optimal

You can connect hardware wallet (only bad images) I understand why Ledger Nano and Trezor are supported. The other two I don't understand what they are (it would be better to have some labels to understand or a tooltip)

Ok a little less well.

I create a new wallet, and here begins the thing that makes me angry.
I can only use a 12 word seed.
I mean, we break our heads to use CoinJoin and then I can't decide to use 24 words? If it fits, I can't find it or the option isn't visible.
I don't like this at all.

The coinjoin setup is excellent, even with customization. Very easy, three buttons and for the more experienced ones, go custom.

I enter the wallet. Very easy to use.
Where are the proxy setups?

There are not.
Let's go back to the previous criticism, we break our heads to use CoinJoin and then I can't use a proxy? I have to put a transparent proxy downstream. Phoenix also allows proxies and has included a TOR client.

Bad very bad

---

So I want, I decide to send funds. I'd like to send them via LN.
Can not be done.
Withdraw via LN? Can not be done.

Why should I use such a wallet? Complex.
I like CoinJoin, a lot. But I can't use wasabi as my first wallet.

Final
Pro:
- CoinJoin
- Nice UX
Cons:
- No proxy setup
- Less security with seed (12 words)
- No LN
- No advanced features requested by advanced user of bitcoin
- No mobile version

i use wasabi like first wallet?
response: no

i want wasabi improve himself?
response: yes, i LOVE wasabi and CoinJoin

@icopress please let read this to wasabi team, is important (proxy/seed) thanks
if any of wasabi team want to comment it, can and i response kindly.. because i love wasabi (i try samurai too)

I have already reviewed Wasabi but wanted to write something for the new reviewers to consider.

I read some reviews here for one reason or another the reviewer did not (or could not) mix. I would advise new reviewers to at least use a small amount of Bitcoin just to understand how coinjoin in Wasabi works so they can evaluate what it brings to the table. Failing that at least to use the testnet.

I hope the reviews are from people that will continue using Wasabi after they review it, in the same way that others have done. I am using Wasabi as my go to wallet for mixing and I think the tiny amount you have to pay for the coinjoin service fee is easily well worth it.

Reviewers will receive 0.002 BTC therefore they should not worry about paying cents for the coinjoin. I am looking forward to reading more reviews.

Guys, we have 3 slots open!

I reviewed the Wasabi Wallet Version 2.0.1.3 for Windows.

I will focus on the user experience while using the wallet as an average user, and leave the technical details up to others with more expertise. The device in use is my secondary laptop with an older Intel CPU and Windows 10 OS. The software is easy to download from the official site. In my case I downloaded Windows 10+ installer from: https://www.wasabiwallet.io/#download

First Start:

After installing the software and accepting terms, you are presented with the user interface that looks very intuitive and clean, with a dark color scheme, which I really liked. This is my first time to use the Wasabi Wallet software and I didn't really know what to expect but the interface is easy to understand and provides the description in each and every function, so it won't be a burden for someone who don't really know what they're doing.

After creating a new wallet and writing down the backup seed phrase, I was now ready to proceed with the next step, which is choosing a CoinJoin strategy. Wasabi Wallet's developers have made sure that everything is explained simply so that this step is also intuitive, even though I am not familiar with the technical aspects of CoinJoin transactions. After completing this step, the wallet is now ready to use

As a first step, I funded my wallet by selecting the "receive" option, and then I went through a two-step wizard where I first had to add a label to the address. This is a bit different than other wallets I've used. Receiving coins works as expected, but this is the basic functionality of every wallet. As soon as a transaction is confirmed, the "Waiting to auto-start coinjoin" message appears. I find it a bit unsettling that auto-coinjoin is on by default, but I understand that Wasabi is designed with privacy in mind. (I will update this review when the coin mixing is complete)

Conclusion:

Based on my testing, I found Wasabi Wallet to have a number of unique features, especially CoinJoin, that make it stand out from other wallets. However, my own opinions on CoinJoin are very much non-existent because I have yet to actually use it with any of my coins. I do, however, think this is an extremely promising development in cryptocurrency privacy. All things considered, since Wasabi Wallet has different modes appropriate for different types of users, I believe it is a very good wallet even for someone who doesn't like or doesn't use CoinJoin. It's also very well designed, and integrates with hardware wallets that should make people a lot more comfortable when holding their coins. As a result, I will be using Wasabi Wallet a lot more in the future.
