League table in the first post has been updated.

Here's the full set of results of all week 4 matches:

The biggest surprise is Liverpool losing at Anfield to Nottm Forest, 0-1. This is the first defeat for the Reds this season, which sets them back 3 points behind Man City.

In the London Derby, despite Tottenham's lead in possession (64%) and shots on goal, Arsenal grabbed 3 points thanks to Gabriel's 64th-minute goal.

Are you referring to JollyGood to be quiet like your want but the thread is self-moderated? I have posted there before during last season and none of my posts were deleted.

Yup, that's the one I meant. The problem with self-moderated ones is that it's always judgmental and it's down to OP to decide what stays in and what gets removed, but they can remove any post depending on their current mood, or they could decide to "prune" the thread to remove certain type of discussion (not necessarily spam) if they feel they don't want it there. For people participating in campaigns, this poses a risk of their post count getting messed up, so some prefer not to take such risk.
That being said, I also participated in other JollyGood's moderated topic (boxing) and have never had any of my posts removed, but I don't know the guy and have no idea what are his criteria for moderation. But almost 600 posts deleted seems a lot.

I do not think there should be any need for this.

My logic is simple, if there's a need - people will keep it alive, if there isn't - it'll just slide down and die. Let's see.

Some users said in order to reduce spam mega thread in sports discussion, they should create a dedicated thread per each season. Since all the thread you mentioned are created before this season, that's why @OP created one more new thread I guess.

It wouldn't matter, as all discussions in those threads relate to the current season and current affairs anyway. Having only one thread would make it much worse.

Anyway Manchester United wins against Southampton, surprisingly Onana is the main of the match since he saved the penalty kick.

Yup, that's a lifeline for Ten Hag. If Man Utd were to lose this one, it would be a definite over for him. But they finally played as they were supposed to and were effective in attack. They created plenty of chances and converted to 3 goals. The lack of attacking power was their main problem last season.
Was good performance in this game an exception, and did they play well only because Southampton is weak, or is it a sign that Ten Hag finally managed to set his team right? We'll see in the following rounds, but I'm not a big believer in this team.

After all if moderators think this topic isn't appropriate, we can expect this thread will be locked/deleted since someone might report this thread.

⚽⚽⚽ English Premier League - alternative thread ⚽⚽⚽

I am starting another thread hopefully to off-load some activity from the existing ones, as they seem overcrowded with dozens of replies even on quiet non-match days, making it hard to have any discussion there. I'm aware there's another, relatively quiet thread but it seems heavily moderated (with almost 600 replies deleted) which might not be to everyone's liking.

Let's see if it gets any traction. If it dies, it dies.

Current table standings (at 15 Sep 2024):

Discussion starter: what are your thoughts, predictions, bet picks on round 4 matches? Tottenham Vs Arsenal looks the most exciting on paper. Arsenal is a not-so-big favourite, with odds of around x2.3, indicating that oddsmakers think it's probable they will lose some points tomorrow.
