the dice are an animation, constantly changing, white dots on white and you can't see them unless you drag them, which pauses them, on to the different color background. Very clever!

Not without creating your own GIF library that supports the format used in that file. But you can do it in a different way, see m.dice.gg/dummy. As a bonus feature, it includes a lynx version.
