Hi yogg,

I am selling a relatively low value item https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/fs-gameboy-advance-sp-2859356
in the goods section and need to have a escrow service in place.
the value will be no greater than $100 (still to be decided)
is this something you can handle?

thanks in advance.

Hello eyesopen,

Yes, sure.
As long as the term of the transaction are clear, there is no problem. Smiley
Feel free to PM me or post here when you have come to an agreement with a buyer.

Good luck with your sales !

I assume you are located in the US? I see your location is "in the US". I would not want to have to export to in turn have you re-import items to the US.

I understand that you would want to charge a fee if I send the miner to you for you to pass along to the customer. Fair bit more work on your part. So you would ask the customer to pay you to cover shipping from you to them. You'de have to get the shipping rate based on your location to them. Makes sense.

Do you have an idea what amount you would want in that case? Say for a single miner and PSU? I mean, I assume it would really be on an individual basis - 1 miner, 3 miners, psu, etc... Would be more or less difficult and time-consuming to deal with - but just to give me an idea.

I appreciate your time answering my questions - other escrowers have been less than accommodating.

Thanks!

What happens if the customer says they didn't get it or it was not what they thought it was or something to that effect? In other words, how do I keep protected from them trying to scam by not acknowledging receiving the item? That's why I was wondering if the item goes to you first, then to them. I am trying to get lined up to sell Antminer S9 units and related parts. They are so expensive right now for on hand units. I think there are as many scammers selling as there are scammers buying.

I have had a friend sell the unit with a PSU - and clarified that it did not come with a power cord, but the customer was all upset that it did not come with a power cord which caused them lost earnings, etc... but refused to send the item back for a refund and still lodged a complaint with my friends selling platform (dhgate.com). Scammers can always find a way to argue some irrational point - or even just uneducated customers.

I'm just interested in how things of this nature are handled- the safer for everyone the better. These are large ticket items - and I want smooth, easy, and protected sells - which in turn should make the buyers happy.

Thanks!

Well, in this case an investigation is opened. In case of a dispute, both parties supply elements to help me decide what to do with the coins.

We can also put another chain in place : you can send the miner to me so I reship to the buyer. When I receive the hardware, I send you the BTC and resend the parcel to the buyer. Tracked & insured if buyer wants it that way. If you think these terms are acceptable, you can conduct business in such a way. We can try with one item first, then you'll see. Smiley
In this case, to do physical escrow, I will ask you for a fee.

I want to help you make your business easier. Smiley
Yes, there are many scammers, and associate ourselves to do business is a neat idea.

Hi Ameador1,

Yes, I believe I can help you.

You got the concept of escrow right : your customer send the funds to one of my escrow addresses (signed by my primary address starting with 1yogg (as in the 1st post of this thread)).
Then I confirm the payment to you so you can send the hardware to the buyer. When the buyer confirms the reception of the items he ordered, I release the payment to you. Simple. Smiley

It certainly helps to increase your trust and the legitimacy towards your business, since it shows that you are not interested into getting some coins fast and run away to never be seen again.

The trust score is based off the Positive feedbacks you receive from other members of the board. In the long term if you are trusted enough, yes you could trade without a need for an escrow but that means people sending the coins to you before you ship : you understand this will happen only if you are very trusted.

There is no exception for anyone and I will not charge a fee. However, I do appreciate tips very much. Smiley

If you have any question, feel free to ask !

Regards,
yogg

Hello yogg!

I am trying to start a small business selling miners and related equipment. I am interested in whether or not you would provide escrow service for sales to my customers. I am new in digital currency business, and on this forum. I will be low volume for a while as I try to build up capital to get larger, but probably one or two miners per month right now - if that.

Also, I have never used an escrow service before - but understand the need for someone with little history to go on like myself - but also, I must be careful to not be scammed as well. The question here, is how exactly does this work? I assume my customer would send you BTC, then when I know you have BTC, then I send you or them the items. Once you or them get the items, then you release the BTC to me? Or other?

Also, when doing this - does this help increase my own trust score - so if after doing this for some transactions - will I be getting a better trust score so that in the longer term I may not need to do escrow as my trust score will be satisfactory to customers?

I don't even mind paying you some fee to do this. I see others who charge a small fee.

Anyway, please help me understand the logistics and if you would be interested.

Thanks!

Can you help as escrow with something that I want to sell on another forum? Or is it only for deals made on this forum?

If I can contact the buyer and the seller, and they both agree to the terms, why not. Smiley

Oke, thanks.

I will let you know when I need your services as I haven't found a buyer yet for the product I am trying to sell.
