[DOTA 2] OMEGA League seeks to fill the void in the Dota 2 professional scene left by the delayed The International 10. We’ve already seen the Asia Division of the event get started, and now it’s time to set our sights on Europe. Let’s analyze three Day 1 matches.

MY BETSLIPMATCH: NATUS VINCERE VS 5MEN
Date: Friday, August 14th @ 14:00 CEST
This is the opening match of the division. NaVi went through some lineup changes recently, and even though they are slight favourites here I wouldn’t give them such a title. Since 5men came to life as a Dota 2 squad, they’ve never lost a match. They’ve played 4 matches in total and have 4 clean wins. This Swedish / Danish squad is looking really promising, and with top notch players like Misery and PieLieDie, they are ready to make a rumble in this tournament. I think they are real underdogs, underdogs that will shock us all. I would give them a chance here to take NaVi down. NaVi, who didn’t catch proper form this year, and with all lineup changes, I don’t believe they have what it takes to become a top team.
MATCH: OG VS VIKIN.GG
Date: Friday, August 14th @ 17:00 CEST
OG has been one of the most dominant Dota 2 teams in the last couple of months. Although the team doesn’t have the same TI-winning roster, it is still capable of achieving a lot of success. As much as we like Vikin.gg, we think that they won’t be able to overcome their enemies. Sure, they had some good results but OG is just the better option. OG are heavy favourites here, and they are capable of 2-0 Vikin.gg for sure. But they always have some strange entrances to tournaments with weird matches and shocking losses. Hopefully that won’t happen this time. If OG takes this seriously, they have a decent shot of crushing Vikin.gg. Otherwise, Vikin.gg is a really hard opponent, they were doing amazing recently on the EU scene. This is a tough match for both teams, but I do think OG will celebrate in the end.
MATCH: VIRTUSPRO VS ALLIANCE
Date: Friday, August 14th @ 20:00 CEST
This is a really hard match to predict. And most probably the match of Day 1. With VirtusPro winning Parimatch League Season 3 last month by beating FlyToMoon two times, I really do think they can enter this tournament on a good note. Alliance are favourites here, as they are one of the best European Dota 2 teams currently. But I do think Alliance relies too much on Nikobaby, if he is stopped, they can be easily taken down. With 2nd place at OGA Dota PIT S2: Europe/CIS, Alliance showed that they have what it takes to beat the best teams in the Europe. Nigma and Secret might be a slight problem, but everyone else is ok. Even though Alliance are favourites here, I do think VP is a more rounded and compact team with more individual skill overall, and if they are in a good shape, they can really give a hard time to Alliance. It will be a very close match.
