MY BETSLIPMATCH: TEAM NIGMA VS TEAM LIQUID
Date: Tuesday, June 9th @ 16:30 CEST
Team Liquid will have a chance for the rematch here. When Team Nigma is at its best, it’s capable of winning anything, including The International. It’s also entirely possible that Nigma will completely flop at any given event. The team looked weak at ESL One Los Angeles and the WePlay! Pushka League, and finished last in Gamers Without Borders. What’s the cause of this inconsistency? That’s unclear. It isn’t a matter of substitutes, as Nigma will bring the same roster they always do to BLAST Bounty Hunt. While Team Nigma has been inconsistent, Team Liquid has been predictably good. But not quite great. The team has posted solid results in most of the events it has competed in, but hasn’t won anything this season.Liquid placed in the top six at both majors and has posted solid placements in most of the leagues it has taken part in this season, including second place at OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online and third in the WePlay! Pushka League. Liquid has proven it’s capable of getting wins over formidable opponents, but it may face a stiffer test in Team Nigma. Liquid and Nigma actually just finished up playing against one another in the playoffs of ESL One Birmingham. Nigma came out on top of their showdown 2-0, taking lopsided wins on both maps. This also put Nigma ahead in the teams’ overall head-to-head matchup history 4-3. The betting odds reflect that, with Nigma standing as a favourite in this match, while Team Liquid is a slight underdog here because of their recent match history. Given the fact that Nigma is far more credentialed than Liquid and is coming off a decisive win over their former organisation, choosing Nigma here looks to be a serious value.
MATCH: ALLIANCE VS NINJAS IN PYJAMAS
Date: Tuesday, June 9th @ 19:30 CEST
Alliance and Ninjas in Pyjamas have pretty big Dota 2 history. There is a big rivalry between those two esport organizations, especially in Dota. In the last month, those two teams played 2 times and both teams have one win. Even though NiP was the team that took a win over Alliance 15 days ago in the ESL One Birmingham. Somehow it feels like that NiP is always performing good vs teams like Alliance. Even though NiP’s match history doesn’t look good, as they were losing their matches vs teams like FlyToMoon, Cyber Legacy and VP.Prodigy. NiP was one team that Alliance lost to in the ESL One group stage, but Alliance is the only team that managed to take a series of Team Secret in the ESL One playoffs. Alliance had a 7 match win streak before Secret crushed them 3-0 in the ESL One grand finals. And based on their currently amazing form they are the favourites here. Their position 1 player Nikobaby is playing the best Dota of his life and he is always the player that pushes Alliance to their victory. On the other side, their standin position 5 player fng is doing better and better, and in ESL One he didn’t disappoint like in their previous tournaments. NiP is a very strong Dota 2 squad, with a lot of potential, and I don’t think Alliance should be so big favourites in this match. Based on their match history, NiP surely could take a map here or even make an upset even, even though odds for something like that are extremely low if you ask me. The safest bet would be to go for Alliance win. They are a better and more stable squad in the last days and they should take this match. I just think that NiP won’t have an answer on Nikobaby’s carry capabilities.
GL all!
