I would echo those who say it is a good idea to hold both ETH and XRP. There's a reason they're the top two altcoins!
They are both great projects, and they offer fundamentally different use-cases, so if you hold both then you are spreading the risk a bit, it's a small amount of diversification

Xrp in a nutshell is also a promising coin with lots of potential to succeed in the future and it can possibly rank the top 2 spot on the coinmarket ranking if ever eth wont recover .

As an ethereum holder I'm hoping that it can be stable in number two in rank at the market.But no matter whose in top in rank,the most important is that we are gaining profit of what altcoins that we had.

I don't mind the position, but the coins are of higher quality and each still has strength. Both of these coins look good and volumes that always compete bring the market to look more attractive. But I prefer to invest in Eth.
This two coins are really dragging on who will remain in the second position in terms of market capitalization. Though I think this did not matter much as we are more concerned of what will happen after the hardfork on 16. I strongly believe that ethereum will remain the second coins after the hardfork for a very long time.

I still believe that ETH can make a distance from XRP in the coming months with the implementation of the ethereum fork. Ripple took the second spot last year because of the dumping of ETH and not with the development of ripple that put them on the second place. Now that ETH had returned next to bitcoin, this will take a difficult part on the ripple to come back to that top 2 position without doing a pumping. Anyway it's just ranking and for technology advancement I prefer ETH than Ripple.
Im worried about eferium. It cant scale... it has a fork every few months, vitalek is a pedo, eferiumalliamce is using a private fork of eferium that doesnt use the publicly traded scamtoken.

I am not worried about the status of Ethereum. Ethereum is facing an upgrade immediately. This upgrade will make XRP cry. Ethereum is a more valuable coin, and XRP centralized coins are not enough to transcend the value of Ethereum.

Definitely right, because for sure it is best competition here in history that two potential coin compete to each other for the ranking.But ranking will not determine who is better to invest or best to buy it depends on how much the total market of the coins.
Ripple low price and possible to increase the value very high in the future like hundreds upto thousands of dollars.
Ethereum from like ripple price it became 1400 dollars each in the year 2017 but suddenly the value decrease and now is $100 but it still hope the value to up and become the next bitcoin soon.

They may flip spots every now and then but Ethereum will end up being the dominant crypto. Eth has a much higher daily volume than xrp and the eth network handles a lot more transactions. Ethereum is also used as a trading pair along with bitcoin on nearly every exchanges. Additionally companies are looking at putting stocks on the Ethereum blockchain which will raise adoption even more.
Eferium cant handle many transactions. If the network is overloaded it cant scale.

Ethereum is the coin which should be holding that place with ease but the current bear market has being catastrophic to it and it seems the excitement over the hard fork is not as big as I thought it would be, so ethereum is still having problems maintaining that position but eventually once the effects of the reduction in the emission of ethereum are felt in the market we could possibility see an increase in the price and this could allow ethereum to get a solid advantage over ripple. The battle for number two is indeed an interesting one. On one hand we have a platform for developing DAPPs creating tokens out of anything, but on the other hand there is financial giant trying to take on the global payment system. Hard to say who will win
Indeed, the position can be replaced by XRP but only temporarily, because the community will certainly return to take over and this will continue to happen. Still, ETH is a popular platform and has good performance, there are so many enthusiasts in the market and continue to survive for its quality.
