Sorry to hear your loss. Once someone hacked your fund, you are no longer the owner of your lost asset. Applicable for both Dex or centralized exchanges. But dex is the future. There are numerous dexs in eth blockchain but new one will make any token tradeable atleast. Scammers wilk get new chance and newbie will become victim cause anyone can add their tokens into the  dex with minimum effort

indeed the technology used by ethereum is different from bitcoin and I still remember that ethereum was created initially from an initial coin offering (ICO) and after that ethereum could develop to be this expensive and indeed the supply of ethereum depends on demand meaning that supply is unlimited.

I wonder how many people send that 'one time registration fee' of 85 US dollars to mr.McAfee? Smiley
So funny that we need to trust him that this exchange will exist in near future

Hacking is always a threat. It does not matter whether the wallet is in a centralized exchange or in decentralized exchange. There will always be hackers who will try to steal your funds. History is unmerciful to both kinds of exchanges. There really is no guarantee that our funds is safe with them. Even Binance became a helpless target. What happened to Etherdelta is another unfortunate case. I hope this one has a solid security feature though.

Personally, I am glad that the McAfee exchange was released. What I’m not happy about is the amount and volume of trading on this exchange.
Another dex with liquidity problems, as well as all other dexes. In any case, this is another opportunity for the crypto market, the more of them the better it functions. I will observe the development.
This exchange has only been launched in the last few days and there will undoubtedly be a lot of volume issues. I think McAfee exchange has a very difficult interface to use and this directly affects investors here. In my opinion McAfee needs a more effective strategy to build the image of this exchange because so many other decentralized exchanges are doing better than McAfee at the moment.

I personally like the idea of no fees when trading of this exchange but the exchange website is very difficult to access and often lag.

Lag happens most of the time on many DEX including that forkdelta.

I'm still marveled with the idea that the exchange isn't asking for fees when we all know how greedy this guy is. I wonder if there is a catch to this offer. Anyway, I would probably be seeing people using this exchange due to this followings in crypto. People who are not in this forum will definitely be there.

In general you don't have much to worry about if you already use an online wallet.

DEX are decentralized and less likely to be hacked. That's why the big exchanges are launching their own DEX, as they are the future.

Compare rates on different exchanges & swap.
I was reading a article published by cointelegraph and read that:

McAfee DEX is set to run in a beta release status as of Oct. 7

McAfee DEX beta: the details
According to the details released so far, McAfee DEX reportedly will entail no Know Your Customer checks, block no jurisdictions and charge a single platform fee of 0.25% for takers. It will not charge maker fees and will also reportedly be open sourced.

Here is the article: https://cointelegraph.com/news/john-mcafees-decentralized-crypto-exchange-launches-in-beta

This means if someone hacks my funds and trades through this exchange whom to I ask?

I have not used much distributed exchanges but this statement was scary. Previous I had the experience where my funds were hacked and this statement opened up my wounds.

How decentralized is the McAfee DEX? I have heard alot about the decentralized exchange but I thought they were just jokes.
I guess most of the problem the exchange seeks to solve will be solved via decentralized means except he is creating a semi-decentralized exchange. It's possible you can recover your funds if the exchange is semi-decentralized or fund recovery is determined by decentralized stakeholders

Yes, there are many options to change different tokens and currencies as well. I am purcahsing tokens there for a while. They are working much on their website and transaction speed.
How long 1 transaction takes?
Aproximately 5-7 minutes. Sometimes even faster. Personal record was 10 seconds on BTC purchase with Bitcash
Wow, faster than anywhere else. I will try

I can recommend  bittrexchange as they provide various currencies and tokens. For example they have GRAM tokens for good price. US market is welcome, especially NY Cool
I am not quite interested in GRAM tokens, can I change Eth to BTC and at what rate?

Greetings, guys. What exchange do you use? A local one or a global one? What pros and cons has each option? What is better?

Have you tested global exchanges? Do you have experience?
Yeah, but I've wanted to see your recommendations. I do not like global exchanges as they work very long as there are many transactions same time, moreover, yes, local may be more smart way. I live in US

I don't think there is any difference between local or global exchanges as far as you are concerned with just trading between some cryptocurrencies.
In order to cash out to your local fiat currency, I believe that local exchanges would provide a much straight forward approach. Also, you can use p2p exchanges like localbitcoins for dealing with your local fiat.

DEX is good choice for security, but not for mainstream, until it solve the speed.

0x,swap,ETHdelta,idex.market,and so on,many exist.

Only tried idex, with a centralized orders matching engine behind, have a good experience.

This is how decentralized exchanges work i am sure you would have the experience of forkdelta, etherdelta or idex before so it seems just like them because it is eth based decentralized exchange, i hope it will have better and smoother interface than most of the other eth based exchanges.

DEX is an exchange platform that uses smart contract ethereum. Basically DEX is the same as we transfer coins from one wallet to another. But on DEX we transfer coins to the wallet platform, after a successful coin transfer it will appear in the balance.
But the problem with DEX is when we login using the Private Key. Because our private key will be stored in DEX, if DEX has a problem, then our private key will have a problem. So if you log in to DEX using a private key, then log out immediately, or log in with Metamask if available.

I checked the exchange and thereby saw "Add Token" option, I tried to list a random token for a test and it worked! It means anyone can list their token without any verification, fees and even without contact with the exchange team! But to get whitelist, you have to pay 85 USD worth ETH! It seems totally ridiculous to me!

the add token is same just other dex exchange like etherdelta/forkdelta but don't forget that the whitelist feature is good if you often trading there
since the whitelist give you free trading fees until the exchange down

Does this mean if someone hacks my funds and trades through this exchange whom to I ask?
As stated on the website you can contact them at https://t.me/ethershiftco

This exchange has no difference with Forkdelta (Etherdelta) except for their whitelist feature It says you can then trade on McAfeeDex with no platform fees for life. Amounting $85 worth of ETH.
