Every day the ETHEREUM project is getting stronger and stronger. Because the development team more and more diligently invests its time in this project. Once they solve the problem with the scalability of the network, then the ETH will be on top.
Surely! Eth is a project that differs a lot from pure payment systems: it builds strong infrastructure around itself that allows to make applications on blockchain. There is no project like eth (even with all its problems) that has established such a strong community of supporters both in crypto and corporate world.

I have a feeling, end of 2018, ETH will be bigger than BTC. The more and more big project happening with Ether also lots of big company investing on researching on Ether technology. That means it getting as popular as bitcoin.

until now the ethereum is still an altcoin that has a strong price and may in the future also is getting good again because of the ethereum is altcoin which is perfect when used for investment in the future.
I think eth is a very stable coin, so when all altcoin decreases or bleeds, only eth can survive, and eth must be the first to increase after the disaster, for example like the present condition, eth becomes the forefront to strengthen again

But coming back to the main topic I will say, that now hackers and scammers steal money in Etherum, but not in Bitcoin as it was time ago. Maybe that example brings a bad sense, but to me it means success of ETH, and it's just the beginning.
