What can I say , it's a pity ,I'm sure you learn't your lesson and I hope others learn from your mistake. I really wonder why people would  do give aways and then demand for your own Eth, sometime it's just greed that leads to this type of loss, well asking if it can be gotten back, just forget it and move ahead. Never trade that part anymore.

This is really disheartening, you were really played and you find it hard knowing the truth because you were all after getting your own share of the giveaway. Both on YouTube and twitter there are many scammers with similar tactics, promising attractive returns of what they don't have. What makes you think that someone will give you his ETH just for free like that? The scam was all written there but you didn't see it. Henceforth, be careful, 90% of giveaways are scams, also know that no one will can give you free ETH therefore all those promising huge returns if you send them your ETH are only but scammers.

I have seen on YouTube about Ethereum fraud, the cheater account is the same as Ethereum CEO, and it is broadcast live, if you send 1 Ethereum then you get 2 Ethereum, that's a silly thing, therefore I don't believe it I think this is a fraud, and indeed it is a fraud, I sympathize with the OP, hopefully it becomes a valuable lesson

It is precisely this manner of filing fraudulent schemes that leads to maximum results.
People, looking at the fact that a well-known service, or media personality, is connected with the scheme of distributing free coins or lotteries, lose their heads, and critical thinking with it.
In other words, they shift their responsibility to the media person who supposedly controls the process.
What really is a lie.

Wow, they robbed people for 400 Ethers? I can´t imagine that I would send my money to someone to get instant 2x profit. It doesn´t make any sense, it is clear proof of scam. But it seems that people are still greedy and unteachable. They are doing same and same mistake.
So if I get question if ICOs and altcoins will experience big pump like in 2017, I say definetely yes. As you can see we do same mistakes every time.

it's a bad experience but it will be a good teacher to teach many people about that mistake
the point that I get from your experience is to be careful in investing
besides that there are still many ways a scammer looking for victims even through ICO that looks reliable but suddenly ICO extended etc.
I hope this does not happen again to others

Unfortunately there nothing anyone can do to help you recover these coins. People get wiser with things like this but people who have been in the game for long won't fall for this.

[ETH] I was scammed on Youtube. What to do?

If you got cheated it is normal that you go to your local police office and report the scam. Unless someone report them, then police cant take any actions against scammers.
In a digitalize world police can't be of help, it's a total waste of time, next time the guy will be smarter not to trust anything they see online, I've never for once send out any money or coin to anyone, instead I am the one winning or earning coins, none leave my wallet unless I want to sell, people like learning the hard way

If your story is true, then it will be a good life lesson to you. I am very sure that you will remember that for the rest of your life. I will just give thanks to you for sharing your story so I can share it to some newbies that I know. If your story is not true then I have just waisted a more than a minute read but It will not be a loss since everything is possible to happen in Crypto. I hope that you will somehow find your way to somehow recover.

This might be a lesson to you. You can call a police or any authority that can handle a cyber crime like this however there's no assurance that the scammer will be caught. Remember that there's no such thing as easy money even though it's a real investment make sure that you understand the process or the steps on what will happen and if there's something shady or something you can't explain then probably it's a scam and it's better to get away from it to make you safe.

It's hard for you to get back that money in this market, so I think you can only take that as a lesson and avoid it in the future. In this market there are many scammer, so you need to be careful in every situation. And you always remember that there is nothing in this market for free, and there is no type of investment that can give you huge profits.

The story is unbelievable! But in the cryptocurrency world, I think it is possible. I have come across many scam situations like yours, but just by having a realistic view that no one will naturally bring you money, you will never fall for a scam.

My suggestion is that you contact the platform that provides a program for the campaign on YouTube. maybe through a channel be it tweeter or telegram you can find out why this can happen to your wallet.

that is a huge loss but scammers will always be scammers, actually this has been in here for a long time its just happen that you are greed and noob to become a victim.

the very moment that they require you to send ETH meaning this is something you must be doubt.scammers are good at it and the problem here you bite the bait mate.

like the other advice this can be reported to the Police(if your country has the power over cyber cases if none?then consider this as a learn from experience thing.

Finally i was not asking for donations.
Good thing that you had realized what really is the situation and what to learn.

Goodluck into your next Journey mate and hope Crypto will not Hurt you to the edge and continue investing in crypto.

Folks i thank you a lot for all your replies. Even for the not so nice ones. I think critics and correction is vital for everybody especially me. It was not easy for me going public with it, but i thought it should be there for others to dont get scammed.
Also, in todays video by this guy crapto lark, he also talks about these scams. https://youtu.be/Xq4nY9UeQxs?t=541
At Minute 9:00 it starts. So he also said there are mayn of these scams currently happening on Youtube. I Wonder what can we do about it?

Finally i was not asking for donations. I thought that maybe there is a Ethereum employee over here and since they could freeze the account were my ETH is still on, they can pass it back to me.
In all honstely thats what crypto is mmost lacking. If you do a mistake the funds could be lost forever unlike FIAT account. This will hinder mass adoption in the very long run.

Have to agree with LogitechMouse here, a lot of people should have known they would get scammed. If you have enough money and educations and knowledge to access the internet and then actually own Bitcoin, then you should know a scam just by using common sense.

Seriously, I get it. Greed blinds us to common sense but still, you should have done some research first. Lesson learned right?

They were offering like random increase to deposited ETHs. So for instance if one was to transfer 3 ETHs, you could get IIRC up to 9 ETHs back.
It was staggered and the more you deposit to their address, the more you could get. The max ETHs they would send out was like a 1000 or so? And they said it was coming back from the same adress you deposit it to.
These few lines is a sign that it is a scam. If you are knowledgeable enough, you will notice that this is impossible. It is like Bitcoin Doubler in Bitcoin or the "100% in X amount of days scheme". The more ETH you will send, the more ETH will get scammed for you Cheesy. I hate to say this but being a newbie is hard especially if you are holding a huge amount of money Cheesy.

The live chat was also filled with lots and lots of postive messages about people receiving like 30 ETHs or some that supposedly deposited way more than 3 ETHs got back up to 100ETHs. There was one official support employee in the chat who moderated it and provided "support".
Whatever the comments and messages are, the fact that this is "too good to be true" is already a sign that this is a scam and yet you fell into it. Can't blame you since I will assume that you are a newbie in crypto but you're stupid to hold a huge amount of ETH yet you are not that knowledgeable when it comes to scams like this.

I waited and waited and also others were writing in the chat about why i takes so long...
You and the others who waited are the most naive persons in the world. Hate to say this but it is true Smiley.

[ETH] I was scammed on Youtube. What to do?
You have 3 choices.
1. Call a police and share to them what happen to you.
2. Trace the scammers if you can do it.
3. Move on and take it as a lesson for you.

You will not learn if you don't commit mistakes like this trust me Wink at least now you learned something right Smiley. Don't do it again and move on.

You should report those kind of stuff on YouTube so they can't scam other people again. This is one of the reason why Youtube had an issue about deleting crypto related videos. Because it's part of their terms and policies. Youtube cannot distinguish every video if it's trying to scam other users that's why it should be a lesson to you not to trust easily even if it looks real. Because a scammer wouldn't let others to notice they are not real. They'll make efforts just to make it real. Scammers are good at that.

I really feel sad for you but the only mistake here is yours. You should never trust any random channels who pretend to be the official ones. You should always open the official website and dig for some information over there because any giveaway or something like this would always be listed onto their official websites.

The scammer actually scammed you much easily and might perhaps be motivated to scam few others. Youtube is never a trusted platform in terms of cryptocurrency investments. You should never listen to those youtubers who keep on promoting any coin or service and in this case, you actually trusted a random guy who just had a channel named etherum?

Moreover, why didn't you care watching the current view number onto the live video? I am sure any official live chat from etherum would have hundreds of thousands of views which in case of this scammer's live video would have less than thousand? Am I correct on this?

Youtube will block the channel once it got enough reports related to scam but they are not responsible for you got scammed so you can't do anything by appealing this to Google.

This is completely your fault, why you still trust these kind of giveaways which are really too good to be true,if you have waited for few minutes and see what is actually happening there might saves you from that 7 ETH scam.

You can't trace those scammers even with the complaint on your local police station because hackers know how to hide their original location on this internet world.

Let's take this as costly lesson.
Indeed mate, the only thing you can do is to block and report the channel and also to raise awareness you can post it on social media or forum so that they cannot be victim of that youtube channel and take that mistake as a lesson for you to not trust anything good in the internet for scammers lurks everywhere inside the internet. Your ETH will not come back to you so work again so that you can earn it back and so not make the dame mistake.
