I had issues with not being able to power the monitor via HDMI prior to vid driver install, just a black screen.DVI solved that for me  Wink
Good Point. I will try with DVI cable and see how it goes as HDMI and VGA cables did not help only to show no signal.

I had a HDMI (vid card) to DVI (monitor),a DVI to DVI worked.
The GPU is officially dead as I only get a message as "Monitor going to sleep" when i tried with DVI | HDMI etc...
I am going to get R9 380 ....

You could save it. I have saved a bunch of cards by baking them.

Put it in the oven for 10minutes and try again Smiley

Goodl uck!

I tried on my 7950, it did not work. My card died slowly, so it may not be the solder problem. Just unlucky.

If you install the 290 in the main PCIE slot, does it show the system start up? it does not need display to do that.

Nothing  shows up on the monitor when I install the gpu on the main PCIE slot. But I am not getting any IO errors when the system is being started. Does it matter whether i use DVI or HDMI cable to connect a monitor?

You can use the 7+ GPU mod from lbr,

7xGPU + Windows // modding AMD video driver is the answer

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/7xgpu-windows-modding-amd-video-driver-is-the-answer-712228

Cheers . It does work but my Mobo does not detect R9 290 anymore now. I will have to test it on another mobo hopefully it is not damaged although the fan is still spinning.

If you look at other devices in the device manager list, you might find your 290 there, and then update driver again.

290 does not show up on device manager anymore although i uninstalled all display drivers and refresh the device manager. I think 290 is damaged but I dont get any sounds or error when it is connected on mobo.

I do not know What might be the issue .

You can put the 290 in another slot. You may also try other driver version. For me, 15.11 works well.

Can anyone help me to resolve AMD driver issue as I am getting Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) randomly on three of AMD 7950.
And windows keeps restarting intermittently. I have remove all drivers and reinstall but still not help even I remove all AMD with Driver Fusion.

All 5 GPUs were working perfectly until i tried to install R9 290 which does not even detect on the motherboards and now having troubles with the rest of 7950s . Worst case i may need to reinstall OS?

Best quality price/hashrate is R9 380x and you dont need necessarly a big PSU.

R9 290 tends to consume a lot of electricity and they generate lot of heat.

Idk about R9 390, I'll get one by the end of the week.

For ETH mining should i go with R7 370 [Cheaper | 15M] or R9 380 [Mid Range | ~ 20M] or R9 390 [Expensive | ~ 30M] as I cannot decide.

cheaper gpu require more rig to have same, hash, bigger gpu with bigger hash is always better, less components needed if you want to go big

For these three cards, it is better to use 390.
