Thanks for the link.
Flash crashes do happen every now and then in they crypto realm. These threads happen more than twice a year and it's usually the same thing (people stating that they've lost money in an exchange due to a stop-loss or something similar to it) though the people that set bids and received their coins don't post at all.

you mean that ETH is SCAM?

Lol on your part I was expecting to see something like this. Even yesterday with the news surrounding ETH about it being a scam or not, I was forced to go check the amount that its being traded which was even above $300 only to realise that it was just a form of panic creation and what OP is doing also is also not an exception. ETH is like any other coin that is being traded which could have its down time and uptime and stop spreading panic news.

Someone decided to sell around 100k ETH on GDAX in a single order and whiped the whole sell book.

Like a certain mr102 did in btc-e some years ago, but now with steroids
Probably he started to panicking, else he would sell it slowly in multiple waves so he does not disturb market balance. This way you can conclude this things:
1.He knows something and he was in hurry to cash-out.
2.Those are maybe stolen funds..dumped.
3.Someone predicted that this was a peak, and will start free-fall.
4.I just can't imagine that this was lonely try to cause a dump..Maybe?

You are right, probably some panic seller started a chain cascate of stop loss orders that resulted in this flash crash.

All fair questions, number 4 is actually probable. 2 as well.
Have there actually been any big ETH thefts recently? I don't think that I've seen any news about any thefts of that scale recently.
I feel that 1. could also be possible, or I would add that he might think that he knows something?

I personally wouldn't mind if ETH got down against, I think it's way overvalued atm.

Lol, there maybe a miss click when someone selling $ETH
lol..How could he possibly make a mistake? He should be more careful of highly risky actions. Mistakes in clicking can make a life-long regret effect lol.

Just read that on twitter how is that even possible when lowest rate was $288 on poloniex.
He was margin trading with stop losses. Not the exchanges nor ETH fault. Stop trying to spread fud.
