I am not very sure where you got good news from CBOE from, but one thing I am sure of is that ETH is still an altcoin and all altcoins still remain the same as long as they cannot really stand on their own and everything is still fixed in movement when relating to bitcoin. That alone I believe is enough to suppress it from hitting the top. Also, all these fixation of people on the top is simply based only on market cap, and it is not like it really means much anyway.
it is very simple. ETH does not have max supply. the inflation rate of etheruem is too high.
It is very difficult to compete with Bitcoin, which will always be number 1. It is much more popular among wealthy investors. But I find that number 2 is also very good and ETH is a deserved king of altcoins.

Because eth is an altcoin that the idea was just came from bitcoin as it's hopeful that its fate will be like in bitcoin. Also bitcoin's popularity and dominance in crypto currency had just led to leave altcoins to the ground plus the fact that many had put their trust to bitcoin than any of altcoins. If eth will achieve all of these, then somehow there's a probability.
ETH looks like a pretty juicy low risk buy on the daily right now. At least to catch a decent chunk of gains.
I also believe in ETH but that does not mean it will go up in value, if ETH is adopted in for real life use more than any other cryptocurrency, then it will surely be top 1 in no time!

ETH is widely used by ico's and other stuffs as well as the technology is way better than btc (for me) however eth is still being dependent to btc simply because it is the origin and actually all coins do the same.

You can't really compare the technology because ethereum is inferior to many platforms. Just look at the stats between NEO and ethereum. NEO is faster and cheaper with many top ICOs, and a great wallet that collects GAS tokens just by holding NEO. In saying that, I do think ethereum will rise ..

These 3 points are really a problematic for ethereum
I don't know how can 15 seconds blocktime can be sustainable. They are probably many simultaneous involuntary forka all the time. Doesn't it generate some kind of problem for the miners?
As eth have a so crazy blocktime maybe it's better to move to pos.i once saw Antonopoulos saying that maybe the world cannot have 2 big proof of work blockchains.
I really never heard of a good desktopwallet for ethereum.
But metamask and mobile wallets work very well

My ledger nano works well with eth but I need mew to use tokens.. I don't like mew.. feel unsafe .
