Yeah if youre talking about the speed, of course eth is faster than bitcoin for transaction. But most of investors will choose btc instead ETH because they know Bitcoin is legend of the crypto, without bitcoin ethereum will not exist.
If the only basis will just be both as payment then people will surely use ethereum for fast process and shorter transaction time but this is not the case, people look at both of them differently as much as they regard and value them differently. Not much of us want to use bitcoin to pay for pizza or coffee and not all also regard ethereum as a commodity or store of value. It will be like substituting salt with sugar or vice versa which cannot be because each has different flavor.
ETH and BTC certainly have their own advantages and disadvantages, but with all the advantages ETH has is still not enough to match BTC. becoming the king of altcoin is a very remarkable achievement for ETH.
I think that Bitcoin will remain slow as before and no one will care. Over time, Bitcoin will be a means for investment, and there are other more suitable projects for calculations and money exchange.
There are advantages and disadvantages for both coins, maybe speed of confirmation, but always there Bitcoin is the starter of this crypto world and Ethereum is the king of altcoins.
The name bitcoin has built alone is more than enough to retain bitcoin on that seat for the rest of life. If anyone educational institution is to introduced blockchian technology into their course today, I am sure their reference point will always be bitcoin. I therefore really do not know from what angle ethereum wants to come to topple bitcoin. If OP says speed, they are not both perfect because many people still complain of ethereum transaction speed a lot. Secondly now that the basic thing ethereum relies on for growth which is smart contract is gradually going to fade away too as There are no much new ICO again being registered newly.

You can say ethereum chain is a bit faster than bitcoin but not that ethereum too is that best in the market to overtake bitcoin. There has been nothing new about ethereum and all the upgrade they have done so far still did not solve their own problem too or make them gain recognition more than bitcoin. So why do you think it is now that there are so many people even competing with Ethereum, while it is possible for BNB and EOS to overthrown ethereum. My friend, it is not bitcoin you should fear for, it is really ethereum that you should fear for, because speed or no peed, bitcoin will always remain dominant while we already have some projects that could send ethereum packing.
I really don't pay attention to some articles because I know it's irrelevant and the publisher just want to have traffic on them it's website. Fact remains that eth and btc are the top rulers in the market including xrp who has also maintained the 3rd place over the period of time. But eth can't go over btc for any reason explained by the writer else btc ceases to exist
If I could just start to invest in crypto I would choose BTC, but now I hold ETH and can't buy expensive BTC 
This coins are very good for investment and it is truly profitable but i need to pick up the bitcoin which i could believe bitcoin will show a huge of price in the future that many of us will gonna surprise. Bitcoin right now is continue rising up the price and it is time to buy.
In the crypto world everything can happen, maybe ETH can beat Bitcoin in terms of price or anything else, but for now I think ETH still can't beat Bitcoin

Depends upon the quantity of your investment, you can choose one according to your investment. Choose investment plan either for Ethereum or Bitcoin will be productive because we have been trying both of them since long. Make sure to invest in Bitcoin only if your investment amount is big and furthermore do the same for Ethereum because you have this choice in case of low investment amount. ETH I consider as asset number two!
Actually, too I use differently when i decide to invest in an ICO it is dependent on ETH. And when I hold for long time then it is BTC. I think btc will always look first and we all know that the location of btc is always coming to the first place.
if the price of Bitcoin does win than the price of Ethereum, but if the system I'm sure Ethereum can still beat Bitcoin system, because in my opinion fee and speed transaction of Ethereum faster than Bitcoin, so it just needs to wait for the right time for the price of Ethereum to beat the price of Bitcoin (although it might require a very long time), because to beat the price of Bitcoin is very difficult even though it can happen (the probability is very small).

Correct mate bitcoin is still reamin the crown jewel that's give profits, both have a different role in crypto currency world both coins is popular but bitcoin is still the king of crypto even ethereum goes from the very top highest rate crypto currency value.

I don't rule out this possibility, but it will be very difficult as BTC has the first-mover advantage and is widely regarded as more decentralized. Ethereum on the other hand has smart contract capabilities, though this competitive advantage may disappear due to smart contract capabilities added to layer two and three of bitcoin in the future.
I don't think that there is any chance whre ethereum would beat btc out. They both are very different coin and the use of these coins are different. Ethereum is a platform based token and Bitcoin is a payment portal based token. So yes there is problem about speed in Bitcoin but if you saw the whole market ethereum is also not a coin with good transaction speed .there is many other coin available which have greater bspeed but it doesn't mean they will cross Bitcoin with marketcap. So it's hard and it's worthless to campare them.

When Bitcoin lightning is implemented it would instantly make Bitcoin more faster. And with similar tech like sharding that ETH is implementing, Bitcoin can too do that and be equally as fast as ETH if not more. So I do not think speed is that issue, as the tech matures, speed will come on its own.

Ethereum never can beat Bitcoin, proof this two coin volume where Bitcoin is big whale. This two coin has different Ethereum for blockchain where Bitcoin for transaction, so Bitcoin will has bigger support.
