Won't the move to POS be somewhat in slow motion though? Meaning we are talking about 1-3 years... so for the first stage, those who want to get into POS will have to lock up their coins (probably for around a year). So they can't dump their stakes even if they want to.

Assuming they stick with that plan, to me it could play out as an initial rise in price, but expect a dump once coins are released... or possibly a dump somewhat pre-release, as it may get priced in.

If we are talking about logical moves, that is. With crypto who knows, ETH could dump to nothing based on Vitalik sneezing.

I wouldn't and just do what you think you are good with because you did proper research about the coin. I'm a ETH holder since 2018 and I'm still hopeful that we've got to see those green days that we want and with these upgrades the Istanbul fork upgrade is successful but this isn't the most exciting event that everyone is waiting for and you know what is it?

Very nice, id say this price increase is only the beginning, its crazy how easy the ETH gains are gonna be, as long as things keep going that is, development wise
I hope to see PoS this year, but if not it will just be more time to mine for staking hehe, one can never have enough ETH really
Time will tell, and i expect hiccups as there has been historically, but id still say EHT is looking GOOD so far this year!

AFAIK it will take a little more time for the new update to be fully functional. But, I guess it is the staking theme that interests the majority in this update anyway. As I understand from most thoughts, everyone thinks that there will be an extraordinary reward in comparison with others. However, as I have looked at a few places, this payout will change between approximately 4-10%. And IMO, expected was more than that.

I am convinced that if Ethereum hardfork succeeds, ETH will be the best investment in 2020. Unfortunately, after so many unsuccessful attempts it is hard to say what will happen this time. We just have to wait and keep our fingers crossed that everything will be fine. When hardfork succeeds and investors regain confidence, the new ATH will be within a few months.

Look nothing after ethereum hardfork in Instanbul and bitcoin keep stable whit lower price, some time when bitcoin have higher price ethereum can follow whit bitcoin price to higehr, but today although bitcoin can raise whit 7% but ethereum never can do the best for their investor to raise whit higher price again.

These whales are still mining ETH and they do not dumping the price at once because they will also lose the value of their collections. Other point is that if anyone will have more coins then they will mine more so everyone will be in competition to collect as much as possible to mine more coins faster. So POS will not harm ETH but will increase its value more.

Not many people has realizing this big improvement from ETH and i'm sure when the media spread the news and reach more people, ETh will become the best cryptocurrency again and will surpass BTC again, but it's hard to predict because BTC is also will make a good movement this year. I'm sure this year will be the year for cryptocurrency

do you also see when the BTC market experiences drastic movements of ETH following BTC movements even when that ethereum almost penetrates resistance for me it is the power of ETH but to beat BTC it's still not possible because halving BTC will arrive

I did not think that in 2020 there could be great improvements because of the delays related to the project recently and the behavior of the team members that would adversely affect the project. I do not think that the whales will immediately sell the ETH that they will receive as a reward for holding coins. why do they need it? if they will dump the price of Ethereum with their sales, then those coins that they froze will cost less and their losses will be much higher than incomes. it is quite logical and therefore I do not think that POS will be a bad idea.
I also plan to buy Ethereum, but not now. I expect lower prices than we see now

We don't really know what will be the future of Ethereum after that POS.
Yes, you will find a lot of negative feedback just because it a POS.
But, I am also trying to be positive with this.
Besides, there is not much movement with Ethereum by now.
Maybe it is really time for a change. I still my ETH stocked in one wallet and don't want to really spend for now.
I guess I am also one who is looking forward with this huge changes.

you can not generalize all of them because of a few bad actors, take a look at dash project. they are doing fine until now, the reason why the majority of them were scam because it is very easy to fork the code source and people love passive income. something different might happen when a real project uses it.
