It will be difficult for Ripple to overcome Ethereum because Ripple cannot be mined.
Ethereum can be mined so the market cap will rising over time if the price stay same, unlike Ripple.
Unless Ripple have a new products that can be massive adopted, it will be difficult to overcome ETH.

The market had shown a lot of sign of another bull-run recently, but each time it is about to break, it fails. So, I think it is difficult to tell if it will start another bull market or not.
