First time I hear that the forums are shutting down. Are you sure it's not just a temporary thing?

Save $400 per month could be good for the future of the Ethereum development. So the price will also rise.

I suspect the underlying reason for shutting down their own forums, may have something to do with wanting to escape from allegations of being in control of the due diligence process for investors. I suspect they are starting to feel the dark clouds of the insoluble reality of the Ethereum Paradox thread and potential price manipulation allegations bearing down on them, and they may be starting to prepare for the potential lawsuits and possibly even regulatory actions if the entire project ends up a bust.

I agree with that part.  And I think they are in potentially deeper water if the project doesn't go bust.

Did they say what they would use the 22 million they raised for? If they specified forums as well as supporting devs, then you have a good case to hold them to it.

Yes - and if you read the fine print they could have delivered nothing and run off with presale money saying that things didn't work out / they ran into technical glitches etc.  Which I also don't think is the moral thing to do even if it's the legal thing to do.

But yeah ... whatever.  Try again.

I'm not trolling.  I'm pissed ... and the devs did more trolling than I did.

I feel like I will explode if I have to explain one more time to people who don't get it why reddit is a non substitute for forums and why after raising 22 million they should feel a tiny bit of obligation to not obliterate the community.  Or I could go into the straw poll done with a google spreadsheet that let you vote as many times as you wanted (instead of using their world class technology that's going to change the way nationstates vote in democracy)

But ... I'm just tired of yelling.  Dumbass fedora wearing hipsters ....

P.S.  Almost 50 REAL users have voted in the forums about who should take it over (not if it should be abolished) which is about the number of votes from reddit they cited for taking it down.

You forgot to mention that ETH contracts can be revoked by the submitter any time.

Well i seen someone say it was being taken down for upgrades.
True ? or is it just being taken down? (for good)

I also thought of Cryptsy.. a bunch of times over the years when they were looking scammy
and problems were peaking and complaints were rising they would simply disable the Chat Box.

It's the same thing here with Shitcoin losers and their Self-Moderated topics.
Or they simply lock them and bury them and start a new one.

I tried to help a guy having problems with Paypal in Off-Topic some months back..
He posted his account was locked etc and was asking for help.
I tried to help him and give him A+ advice on what to do then told him to PM me for more help.
What did he do ?
He was using Paypal + Bitcoin which is against their TOS.
And if caught it will get your money / account seized.
After talking with the guy on the topic he admitted that he had been caught a few times before (and lost his money / account)
And he said that and Never Mind he will get his money back in 6 months anyway.
SO i told him NO you want buddy LOL
And i said if he is going to continue doing this a 4th and 5th time i will not offer him any more help.
Even after him getting caught 3+ times he still had the text under his avatar saying..
"Buying Bitcoin for Paypal" or something similar.
And he was using muiltiple accounts posting Market topics doing deals here.

So i left & came back hours later and i had a bunch of PM's from him DEMANDING
that i delete my comments on his topic (specifically the one where i quoted him admitting to being caught before)
You know.. the topic where he ASKED for help and the one where i TRIED to help him LOL
I told him no and he also demanded i delete my comments publicly on his Help Topic too..
I told him i would not so that the public can see he has a track record of getting caught.
So this would obviously show his potential traders they may lose their money (if his account gets locked again)

And yeah it got better.. i left him a negative rating over that shit because it showed dishonest trading etc.
So what did he do ?
First he went and created a topic Petition to have Spoetnik banned.
Then he waited until i had left offline and went back into Off-Topic and reopened his Paypal Help Topic (he locked)
and deleted some comments and then re-wrote some to make it seem like i was Trolling on him.
He did this to try and prove his accusations against me on his Meta ban topic..
Problem is i never trolled him at all and i actually tried to help him and i never did get a Thank-You either Sad
So i was right to negative rate him after seeing him re-write history with lies to try and get me banned.
He did not expect me to catch him doing it with the the topic unlocked though
and it was NOT self moderated so i pounced on him calling him out for doing it... lying his ass off !

So what is the point ?

i would guess 50% to 75% of the people in Crypto are just likely that sleazy scammy little prick.
You are all mostly corrupt, dishonest greedy childish little assholes that deserve to get ripped off.
Hell even the staff here KNOWS using Paypal is against their TOS
..yet they allow damn near every person in every topic in the Market section to do Crypto-Paypal deals.
KNOWING full well it will result in people getting burned fucked over and their accounts seized etc.
They have known this clearly since as early as 2012 when users came here and told everyone.
They know better but offer not even a warning about it.. silence (for years)
Ever had your Paypal account locked ? Guess what .. it's not fun !
And guess what if they BTC buyer has his account locked... HE CAN NOT PAY YOU !

The users here.. the staff here .. places like BTCe
They all know better an they all allow scammy bullshit so they can profit from it.
Take BTCe for example they had Paypal Withdrawals available and i figured it must be ok then..
So in late 2013 i took out the minimum two times.. $2,500 usd
BTCe had even raised the fee for that after my 1st withdrawal.. between BTCe & Paypal
combined the TX fee for that was EXACTLY $500 usd i had to pay (before my account got locked)
So when i got investigated you can bet your ass they were looking at the account BTCe used with PP.

So what do ALL of these guys do ?
Hide.. change names.. play dumb.. go silent.. create new accounts.. all the fucking way to the bank !

IPO / shitcoin supporters.. you are all mostly sleazy, scammy, deceitful, pieces of shit.
That is not being mean or trolling either.... it's the straight up accurate truth !
All of this shit these days is "Fueled" by NOTHING more than GREED + DECEPTION.

So yeah.. hmm i wonder why an IPO scam coin "Team" would shut down their support forum ? ROFL  Cheesy

Perhaps they are hoping for other platforms to take over the discussions in a more decentralized manner, spread over various channels. That being said I would have thought they'd rather transform their forums into a more advanced, better structured one to create space for improved discussions.

What a short sighted decision. Getting enthusiastic users is half the battle in crypto, why piss them off for no good reason

How could people possibly be angry being involved in a 1 billion dollar pump and dump scheme?

What about a 10 trillion dollar pump and dump scheme (*cough*) Federal Reserve?

Well, if they are fine with using Bitcointalk and discussing within that one ethereum thread we would be very welcome XD

On a side note, seems like a ploy to drop the price by making everyone angry and dumping it before pumping it later on

Wow!  Those ladies are almost as prickly as the ones on this forum, maybe even more so.  Not sure how the forum closing bodes for the coin/platform itself.  It's probably not good, for the reason that it fractures the community somewhat.   But there's always reddit.

I heard rumors that there were personal attacks on Vitalik posted. It looks like the takedown really is slated to happen in 14 days.

Perhaps moderation was getting stressful with all the accusations of censorship lately.

Personally I find the crypto fora to be some of the least censored sources of information!

IMO a dedicated forum for an alt is necessary. It serves as a support for the coin an without it I think it means that people are now loosing their interest in the coin. Maybe someone is indeed just fooling to dump eth price.
