I think if something is not done to this high transaction on Ethereum it could be the beginning of the end for the project, with the launch of Ethereum 2.0 still far and the date uncertain, it is possible project would have moved over to other platforms, just look at what FTX did with Solana platform today with the launch of their own DEX.

This post is just to complain, i remember in the past - a year ago - a 10 Gwei Gas price would have your transaction confirmed in few minutes. Now it takes days... Average Gas is now 30-40 Gwei.
We recently paid 5$ on a contract with 10 Gwei Gas price, it has taken almost a week and the transaction still not confirmed, meaning can be rejected !
At least in bitcoin it's all transactions, and it does not pretend to be a chain for deploying or interacting with contracts!

I also shocked too. I deposit a coin from my ETH wallet to an exchange 10 hrs ago but still transaction status pending. In my opinion it's a very bad decision from ETH dev team. Those people won't use ETH anymore who transaction everyday small amount. I mean why should people give $2/$3 for $10 withdraw. If you try to reduce gas fee then it will take huge time to transfer. Hope authority look at this matter.

It seemed too much to me. Most of the time before that I have select 10/16 Gwei Gas prices for every transaction. Now it's almost going out of reach. If this trend continues, very soon we will be able to see 100 Gwei Gas prices needed for transactions.

This is the result of Eth having it's own bull run that's why the gas price is really peaking as well. I also remember that there is a record high of Eth wallets in the last couple of days, so for sure it added to this whole "mess" of clogging the network and then we have the Defi hype, Eth 2.0 on the horizon.

Maybe this thread can help you out:

https://ethgasstation.info/

If you don't want to pay high gas fees, then maybe you need to wait a little bit and see when it settles down.

The gas is quite high so I think if you want to send the token it is enough to postpone until it is really stable, I think it can add more because the increase in ETH has peaked until now.

Yes, you are right. Now a days ETH gas fee is so much high. If i want to transaction fast then i need to pay high gas fee. This is so much disturbing. If i select low gas then transaction delayed for couple of hours.

I have just transferred tokens in the ETH system and paid a commission of 1.34 USD, although the system showed me a value of more than 3.00 USD. Let's hope that this is temporary, especially since now ETH is showing growth, perhaps this is due to this. If you want to take advantage of the minimum commission, then you just need to wait, for example, until the evening and check the load of the ETH network. Very often, by the evening and at night, the network load drops and the commission becomes minimal. Also, if you want to receive your ETH or ERC-20 tokens as quickly as possible, then you need to choose the maximum commission, then the transaction goes through very quickly and does not freeze.

just be patient, don't do any transaction yet, because the network is full, this is a weakness of Ethereum,
if it continues like this, future of Ethereum will be bad

ethereum gas costs are almost balanced with bitcoin, This incident ever happened but it fell back in the near future, I'm also confused about the high ethereum gas costs that have been a long time so many people talk about this
I think it's diffrent between bitcoin and ethereum. You can use bitcoin wallet that supports segwit so it will reduce transaction fee, but what about ethereum, there is no wallet which supports fee reduction.

Yes, i agree with OP, ethereum gas fees is too high. I hope nethereum's new technology, ETH 2.0 will bring solution about gas fee

It is best not to create transactions at the present time. You should wait a few more days for the ETH network to stabilize, the previous day I only lost $ 0.5 per transaction but now it has gone up to $ 5. That is really unacceptable

Wow, that's huge amount of fees, better to use other alternative if you have that chance to use another coin, there are lots of crypto if you are transferring

coins from exchange, instead of paying huge amount of transaction fee using ETH, why not use other coin to transfer your fund, coins that also good in speed

but don't charge that high.

Now that Bitcoin goes over $10000 we will experience more transactions on Bitcoin network also. And fees will go up. It will be crazy 2020 and 2021 fro both chains. Etehreum and Bitcoin.
the market seems to be driven by these two assets. pumps that occur on the market look strong and stable. You can see the growth that occurs is a little correction. and of course, if this growth continues to strengthen what happens is an increase in transaction costs that I'm sure there will be more and more trade.

when the Ethereum network is full, that happens is expensive gas, this is common for Ethereum,
if we look at Ethereum Pump people always make transactions there, and make the network have to work harder

is that high as ethereum transaction costs? I checked the GAS is currently around 100, and it does make small transactions that may be burdened. true you said, maybe it would be better to avoid ethereum transactions at this time because the costs are quite high. Moreover, the market is good enough, we can wait until a better moment.

such transaction prices will simply kill ETH. many projects cannot afford such a price for sending coins, because many users need to send a small amount of money and the commission may be higher than the amount which they sent
It will not. Ethereum has experienced the same thing in the past and it can go back again and got a lot of demand. There was a reason why the tx fees have been increasing a lot and one of this reason should be caused by the bull of ethereum.
It happens most of the time especially when we see a big spike on its price and this is not just on Etheruem, but you can see on many cryptocurrencies that the fees is too high for an ordinary transaction. Its good to see the market pumping again, a big thanks to Gold for not stopping from pumping. If ETH continues to pump, then expect the fees to go high as well, better to wait for the price to a short correction.

I think what happened before ethereum has increased has also begun expensive transaction fees. Is there no clarification from the developer regarding what happened with the increase in ethereum transaction costs?

there is a lot of clarifications, and all point to the fact that ETH usage surged due to DeFi hype, and number of users and transactions surged in short time period, so network cannot adapt that fast, and all this should be solved with ETH2.0, which should be started until the end of the year, it is a matter of question will the network survive until then

This thread will help you to understand why you have high transactions fees and how to adjust the fees so you will only need small fees for every transaction you do.

Read it here.
