A lot of projects are starting to see an increased coverage in the news which is drawing people into looking at Ethereum more deeply. This is a self-perpetuating cycle as the more the price moves, the more people become interested, the more articles are written and the more the price moves.

This stuff may increase the ethereum's value big time, but I guess it would be temporary.

Will have to see, my guess is that there's potential for long-term increases in the value of the network as dAPPs with their own tokens are deployed within the network. We just saw how well the digix IPO performed (5.5 million in 12 hours) and Slock.it is crreating a lot of excitement.

http://www.smithandcrown.com/digix-dao-closes-crowdsale-under-day-raises-5-5-million/

As people invest money, time, and energy into dependent applications and side-chains of Ehtereum will help to maintain vertical pressure on the price.
Dayum wish I'd bought some digix.

Wow, a mention in a blog. This is  HUGEEEEEE

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/04/04/microsoft-major-banks-strike-blockchain-deal.html

"Microsoft has struck a deal with a group of leading banks to help develop blockchain-like technology, the U.S. technology giant said on Monday.

Blockchain is the technology that underlies the cryptocurrency bitcoin. It works like a huge, decentralized ledger for bitcoin which records every transaction and stores this information on a global network so it cannot be tampered with. Banks feel blockchain technology can be utilized in areas from remittances [read Ripple] to securities exchanges [Ethereum].

...

R3 and its members will have access to Microsoft's blockchain partners which includes the likes of start-ups Ethereum and Ripple."

The whole tone of that article was skeptical - which, from a long-term perspective, is a good thing. Pumpy press from mainstream financial outlets on an alternative asset class are usually a sign that the top is nigh. On the other hand, skeptical stories reflect a calmer non-pumpy perspective.

As for the content, it comes with the turf as we walk through the "I'll show you!" trail. Smiley

It's because no one really reads the media or watches it.  There was always that old trivia like Wrestlemania or Jersey Shore has more ratings than CNN.  A lot of online newsites, including NYT and especially, are discreditable since they seem to publish any crypto press release and blog sent their way.

Seems like ethereum already won the battle of the altcoins.

Probably will exceed bitcoins ATH market cap by 2017.

Exciting times.

you are nothng but a believer. Bitcoin will be number one forever, ethereum is a scam and will be dumped. Dump your ether now and hodl bitcoin.

Tosh and piffle.

Ethereum is on the way to putting btc in second place.

Once that happens all shitcoins will go down to nothing.  Ethereum as tge only useful coin in crypto will be incredibly valuable.

Most of the leading altcoins claim some utility... except bitcoin, which doesn't really have a unique utility. Keep an eye on XRP in the next few months, they're doing the leg work behind the scenes to bring credibility to vaporland.

Last month Bitcoin and a related wallet / service was on the COVER of my local news paper.
And no it was not a story that the ETH "marketing team" wrote and submitted to them.

Who is the spam team ?
The usual ETH IPO scammy hypesters scroll up & down.. seen their names before?
Well recently that is (they are all new accounts)

by the way minecache i could have gone two routes to serve you another retort.
The joke being version..

You missed one.. "The world needs smart contracts via IPO scam coin tokens" (IPO Coins)

But i prefer to appeal to the audiences analytical side here because after all isn't that what this is about?
"Advertising" to the crowd?
So what you failed to mention minecache (or should i call you stoat?)
Is WHY we need or want Ethereum IPO tokens on the same level / context as your comparisons?
You have a lot of balls comparing an IPO shitcoin to the TV, Electricity, Computer, Telephone or Airplane !
Do you actually think the ETH pyramid scheme worthless "digital tokens" are in the same league?
I am genuinely curious if you believe your own ETH rhetoric.

But your "crew" has the demographic covered with that last crew-member adding "profits are great"
..knowing full well that most people here couldn't care less about anything other than some small profit.

What this tells everyone is the usual suspects are still actively hyping their scam coin.
So it says to the greedy crowd they still *may* have a chance to profit..
because the "Butterin Boys" are going for the "Long Con"

So yeah i agree kudos to the team for their Bitcointalk spamming.. it has been an impressive vulgar display.

PS:

@ProfessionalGoogler
Nice negative-rating ever get that loan for $15,000 ?
I noticed a guy accused you of making 3 previous accounts doing the same thing.
You replied back trying to defend every point the guy made admitting it all.. except 1 point you ignored.
The part about making previous accounts to scam.
By defending everything else the guy said, you in turn admitted it.. outing yourself.
SO..
What we have here is "ProfessionalGoogler" the Professional Bitcointalk Account Creator.
We have proof of him making 4 accounts.
So tell me boys what are the odd's he is related to the other Noob ETH spamming accounts?

@stoat
Who are you?
Why is it every time i have asked you went into hiding for a week or two?

ProfessionalGoogler what are your little "niche's" that are worthy of a $15,000 loan with no collateral?
Why do i get the feeling it's related to scam coins or ETH spamming hyping or being paid to do it?

I am also curios does your crew use a VPN to come here so staff can not track your account hopping?

There you have it.. my opinion (the correct one) AKA: Facts.
..so put that in "quotes" and read it !

It's too early to say. They need to sustain their position for at least a year. For the moment, they are doing as well as dash and others did in their early pumps where they were the #2 coin for a couple of months....

Doesn't change the fact that Ethereum is a IPO, pre-mined scam.

Nobody gone need smart contracts.

"Remote shopping, while entirely feasible, will flop - because women like to get out of the house, like to handle merchandise, like to be able to change their minds" (internet shopping)

"Airplanes are interesting toys but of no military value" (aircraft)

"There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home" (PC)

"The idea is idiotic on the face of it, ignoring the obvious limitations of his device, which is hardly more than a toy. This device is inherently of no use to us. We do not recommend its purchase" (telephone)

"The cinema is little more than a fad. It's canned drama. What audiences really want to see is flesh and blood on the stage" (cinema)

"Fooling around with alternating currents is just a waste of time. Nobody will use it, ever" (AC)

"While theoretically and technically television may be feasible, commercially a and financially it is an impossibility, a development of which we need waste little time dreaming" (television)

"What can be more palpably absurd than the prospect held out of locomotives travelling twice as fast as stagecoaches" (train)

"Good enough for our transatlantic friends, but unworthy of the attention of practical or scientific men" (lightbulb)

"The ordinary 'horseless carriage' is at present a luxury for the wealthy, and although its price will probably fall in the future, it will never, of course, come into as common use as the bicycle" (automobile)

"But what is it good for" (microchip)
