Ethereum remains the king because most of the new tokens are getting listed in the ERC-20 platform. There are other platforms available and some of them are technologically superior to the ERC-20 Blockchain. But they have very low acceptance in the cryptocurrency market. It will take many years, before any of them become capable of offering competition to ERC-20.
there are many projects built on Ethereum so the name "king of altcoins" is fully deserved. other altcoins should go a long way to achieve the results that will will be similar to Ethereum.
But if distinguishing those projects, there are likely a lot of bad projects too that can be thrown to it. But let's all agree that it's the king of altcoins and that cannot be changed in the meantime. There are other projects that try to compete with Ethereum like Tron, BNB, Stellar and other projects too but the most chosen platform is Ethereum's smart contract.
We have etherum bossing altcoins since time past and there has been non replica of any coin that has tried bossing etherum

Ethereum was being replaced by XRP in the past but as of this moment Ethereum was able to reclaim it's ranking so Ethereum should do their best to maintain their position the same to what is happening to bitcoin.
Bitcoin was a King and is still a King until now because no one was able to replace it's position even until now and if Ethereum can maintain their position even in the future then I can consider Ethereum as King of altcoins.

I think that no one will ever beat or replace Ethereum, because Ethereum has been in that position (the king of altcoin) for a long time and that will be Ethereum position forever, so I believe it will be difficult for another altcoin to beat or replace Ethereum, although at that time Ripple had replaced Ethereum, but it only took a very short time for Ethereum to take its position again, because I think Ethereum is the king of altcoin forever (permanently).

Yes ofcourse it's has strong potentials to get attention from the public also I believe Eth2.0 will give a remuneration boost and attract more users to buy ethereum, Now there are several competitors in the market but still it has remained at the top in altcoins lists. There are more speculations on eth as the price may go to moon still it depends on the market 
Presently, eth is the father of all Altcoins, but until when will ETH take the lead? ETH no doubt has done a good job by providing a level ground for other ground to establish themselves via the eth blockchain technology. But if care is not taking. This will definitely become story in the comy years as other altcoins are coming with new innovative everyday. Starting with the TRC-20 blockchain. This has gained so much ground, and we now have hundreds bon altcoins capitalizing on it. ETH with their high transaction fee, could make people and investors look where.
A lot of alts are working on ETH, of course its a king. ETH 2.0 will make it even better

Yes and it was for long time and it will be in future. Among all the chains ethereum is the most popular and most used platform based token available. And ethereum has a huge marketcap. The fees of ethereum is higher than many chance and sometimes it's hard to pay cause it's too high. People and devs love ethereum. So devs prefer to launch their apps in eth blockchain. And people also like ethereum. That's why it's so popular. So I think it will be top of every altcoin for now and for future.

Ethereum is known to be more advanced than Bitcoin, but the original, and prime always get the top spot.

why is Ethereum the king of altcoins? because the team makes sure everything is unique and therefore will be difficult to replicate. Also, with its efficient and friendly blockchain service, Ethereum is the most valuable altcoin in crypto because there are many platforms that use the ethereum blockchain. on the one hand has a reliable team and strong community.

Without doubt ethereum is one of the best thing to have happened to cryptocurrency outside bitcoin. The use case is superb. I would say Defi is part of the overall activities leading to this year's bull run with Uniswap been the home of the good, bad and ugly all running on the ethereum layer. Even binance of recent took a snap shot of ethereum network giving birth to Smartchain.
Ethereum was the number two coin in the cryptocurrency world,but now to much interesting projects on the cryptocurrency market,They look like same positions.so eth strong project and position is second to many user but not king.
