EOS overtaking ETH?  I say no at this moment.  EOS development is still too young to overthrow ETH.  Aside from that, as said in the earlier reply, the volume can be manipulated and so using it as the basis of reason for EOS to overthrow ETH is non-sense.  Aside from that, there are lots of users old and new that are frustrated with the wallet maintenance of EOS and most of them came from the error of having not enough CPU or ram.

Probably many cryptocurrencies enthusiast have seen the competive mood this two altcoins have engaged into. Ethereum is currently hosting about 2,746 dAppsve while the next nearest competitor, EOS, is currently hosting 320 dApps. Last month EOS out performed Ethereum on transaction volume inrespective of this few Dapps on the Network. Hope to see EOS taking the place of Ethereum and solving the issues it's yet to solve.

I don't know why people feel transaction volume is a huge thing, this can be faked, we have seen it with Waves, Bcash and some stupid developers trying to use this stat to fool themselves.
Certainly! The increase in transaction is nothing in some situation because it could be due to the sell level of the coin and the last time i check the coin in subject only experience $1 increase in price during the time OP post his message.

Going  to Ethereum and EOS, I am not really a fan of Ethereum but Ethereum is way ahead of any other smart contract platform, there is a reason why is having 3000+ dapps running on it and while EOS is 300+ that is 10X which is very huge
I'm Ethereum enthusiast and i support the coin because they brought something into the cryptosphere and their team somehow respected crypto community affection.

There is enough space in the market for both of the chains to compete and both of them has some serious issues to consider like ETH is struggling to implement the ETH 2.0 and we need to look into it after it's implementation on how it plays till then ETH in its current form is definitely not gonna keep up. EOS has several problems like resource cost, node issues, and frequent block rollbacks which beliefs to be improved once the nodes are migrated to the EOS 2.0. So as of now, ETH has a good lead in terms of adoption, dapps and developer community and EOS is a very good competitor of it.

I am indeed less expert when talking about the technology behind the two. but I only see it from the market cap and prices of etherum and eos. when viewed from the market cap and price, the distance between etherum and eos is very far and I think this competition will still be won by etherum.
when looking at markets and prices there are still far differences. but when looking at chart movement it shouldn't be much different in a good market trend like now. however ethereum has a better market, their support is very strong. and it takes time for EOS to compete with ethereum.

First Ethereum was the first coin to implement the dAPP and smart contract platform before EOS, NEO, etc. And, this make every other dAPP provider like EIS to be a copycat of Ethereum and the last time i check EOS is a centralized coin that is enough not trusted its current transaction volume.
Nevertheless, I'm never a fan of EOS neither does it have the potentials to dethroned Ethereum.

You are missing one major point that Ethereum is first major dapps platform and it already has big alliance with tech giant so eth will always be dominant. It is similar to saying no matter how good the technology for payment would be but still btc will dominate so it will similar in case of Ethereum no matter how good new platform for daps would be it is quite difficult to swith to new platform.

You can see from the dapps that run above both, it is clear that EOS lags far behind ETH, meaning that the average developer still believes and becomes the main choice to build their dapps on the ETH platform. If you check the top 100 coins, then you will also see that the ERC20 token is also very dominating, I think it's not a coincidence and that is a fact.

Did you think if the total transaction of dapps in the blockchain is become the only factor to determine how popular the platform is? The majority of dapps that built in the EOS was gambling platform. I have seen this caused by so many people are actively promoting dapps but I think that it has very low demand in another kind of dapps. The gambling platform that built on ethereum was not so popular as EOS but just waiting for the scalability solve that will be done by ethereum through the serenity update. We'll see what will happen. I just think when ethereum goes POS and it will leave the competitor in the bottom place.

It can't even be used to run VOICE.
Why voice needs EOSIO to run it? When it can be implemented into the EOS blockchain too.
Im interesting to see more and more dapps related to the economic service rather than gambling.

Eos is good, no doubt about that but thinking that Eos will take over from ETH is a tall dream if I may say. As long as there is a move to correct every possible issue with ETH like the upcoming upgrade, Eos can never take over from ETH.

EOS will never defeat and replace Ethereum, because until whenever I'm sure the company or more people will use smart contract (projects) from Ethereum and of course Ethereum is the project that made the smart contract system the first time, so that makes Ethereum will be stronger and no one can defeat Ethereum until whenever.

Ethereum is working on all its criticism and are making so much progress. Now they are overcoming the milestones and reflectin in the price with bitcoin. These progresses is capable of subduing EOS for a longer time more. Traders can go into EOS for profit but dont underestimate the tendency of ethereum to get back and keep up the technology to surprise bitcoin enthusiast.

What an sure about the ethereum is, their coming upgrade will dethrone many issues they had for years and take a new face after the upgrade. Just learnt that, issues with PoW will be gone when PoS starts. EOS, hasn't grown to such extent to top the ethereum even though it surpass ethereum in January, 2020 by it volume.

EOS has a long journey to even level with ethereum network. Maybe, EOS surpassed eth last month, but it will not be consistent month after month. With upcoming eth 2.0, I don't think EOS can compete with eth, in terms of development and also, their popularity of usage. Waiting how long EOS can reach even half of what Eth is hosting for its dApps...

The problem of ethereum scalability will bring it down to the low, the most needed now is the EOS for Dapps. Until the team of ethereum start building their worth over this generation of Dapps, EOS may take their very place in the community.

With the transaction volume, possibly EOS might take over from Ethereum.
