Ethereum has a large market cap than gold.

This is not an april fool joke dude  Cheesy
Even Bitcoin has not passed the marketcap of gold, so how can you say that ethereum has passed the marketcap of gold.
There is no way eth can surpass gold. Even we can't imagine when bitcoin marketcap will be greater than that of the gold.

Both have value and market capitalization, both are equally needed by everyone and can also be used as investment assets, but only in different places. ethereum is functional and reliable in the crypto market and gold is reliable in the modern market or the real market. both are the best assets to have.
in fact, be it gold or ethereum, it is clearly very valuable even though it is true that your word is only the difference that distinguishes it. one is in real form and the other is invisible, but again both are very good and profitable investments. But if the problem is clearly different, the real (gold) is not really, but the unreal (ethereum) is very full of risks, but behind the full risks, there are certainly trade-offs with greater benefits.

in fact, they both have value and are only needed in different places. both can be turned into cash in different ways. gold will be a long-term investment and so will ethereum.

It is Bitcoin that acts as digital gold in the cryptocurrency market, so it makes no sense to compare and mention Ethereum here.

Gold is for saving and storing for a long-term perspective, Ethereum is an extensive platform for creating smart contracts.

Well, personally, at the moment, I am more attracted to BNB than Ethereum, now there is also a large number of projects coming out, as well as the commission there is much lower now than on the same Ethereum.

Therefore, I think that at the moment the BNB is a priority for everyone!with

Ethereum price is higher than that of gold now.
Ethereum has a large market cap than gold.
Ethereum is overtaking gold in all ways
I have seen Bitcoin vs Gold in many places but don't think about Ethereum. Ethereum is one of the best crypto in crypto world. Investing on Ethereum is much more better than smoking on Gold.

Comparing gold and ethereum? it is a different matter. in terms of the instrument itself is much different between gold and cryptocurrency as well as the concept. what are we going to compare the two of? what is clear is that gold has existed thousands of years ago until now. So historically and fundamentally ethereum is still far away. making a comparison based on price is also impossible. The current supply and market cap of gold is quite large and Ethereum is still below gold, even bitcoin cannot compete with gold. the difference between the market cap of the two is quite large

Bitcoin and Gold are two different assets. If we talk about potential, Ethereum is more promising, but the risk is also greater when there was a time when Ethereum's value went from 1500 $ to 90 $. Gold looks more stable when it hasn't dropped below $ 1000 since it crossed the $ 1900 level in 2011.
Personally, I will split it into two equal parts to keep gold and Ethereum.
Gold will help me store my value more stably and I can easily sell it without worrying about slippage if it falls in price. Ethereum will be the risky asset I will invest in, now people take Ethereum to stakes so the downside risk has been reduced compared to before.

Perhaps your comparison is a bit too abstracted, outrageous.  But it is conceivable that Ethereum in the crypto world will make sense and it is just as precious to each person as gold in reality.  Although bitcoin is dubbed digital gold, is a trillion asset, but Ethereum is also the core, being the queen of the altcoin world.  Smiley)

To choose among the two is hard to do because both shows proof and very valuable ni terms of investment. Not in the same matter but the same endpoint which is to gain profit. They may differ because one is tangible and other is intangible but have the same goals which is to gain from the investment without hesitations if it's true or not because it was already  proven and tested by many people.
I don't see any reason why we have to compare Ethereum and Gold because they are not the same thing or belong to the same market but this is what will always happen when investors focus more on profit making. Choosing among the two is actually not hard but diversification is good.

The main advantage of cryptocurrencies over any assets is their decentralization. Of course, gold can be used as a reliable storehouse, but all investments in gold are controlled by government agencies, while Ethereum gives you financial independence. And this is if you do not touch the functional superiority of ETH, which is provided by the global Ethereum ecosystem. Of course, the high volatility of Ethereum does not guarantee stability, but I am sure that after years, when the capitalization of Ethereum increases tenfold, its price will be more stable and then the advantages of Ethereum over gold will be very significant.

Your statement about gold and ethereum is very clear, but you forgot to mention what risks they have.
It seems that both of these valuable assets have risks, but a greater risk is in Ethereum, whether you are holding it or when investing in Ethereum. the advantage in ethereum is due to its decentralization while the advantages of holding gold are due to the relatively easy way to cash it in a relatively short time and more flexibility.

I guess we are going to look at how the return of investment (ROI) of both be like in the next 2 years.

So as far as investment goes, I think Ethereum will beat Gold, but for the stability and being store of value, I would say that Gold still takes over. Gold has a trillion marketcap compare to Bitcoin as well, so both can be good as hedge to financial crisis. But the thing is, crypto is now taking over, Gold will be Gold, but we might see a big shift in the next five years to crypto.

If you compare 1 Ethereum with 1 ounce of gold than you are right with your statement about the price but i would say you probably have to compare the price of 1kg of gold to the price of 1 full ETH to be correct.
Just look at the total marketcap of ETH in comparison to gold you will see that gold has still the 20x higher market cap than ethereum so ETH has still a long way to go to surpass gold in that matter.
But ETH doesn't even need to get bigger than gold because they are 2 completely different things. Gold is a precious metal and ETH is a blockchain platform.
Marketcap is not a parameter to use in this comparison. Gold total supply is huge and gold existence is for so long in human civilization. Ethereum is much younger and its total supply is infinite. More supply for gold can be existed with future modern technologies but with current technology, its supply is almost fixed.

Ethereum is an alternate cryptocurrency and the Queen in altcoin kingdom. It is also a digitalized currency that surely brings more convenience and freedom to people who adopt it and use it. I think price of bitcoin, Ethereum and gold will rise when the collapse of central banks are more realistic.

To get a comparison for gold, Ethereum must have a fixed cap like Bitcoin. I don't know what dev's latest update was here, but Ethereum isn't capped?

Ethereum price is higher than that of gold now.
Ethereum has a large market cap than gold.
Ethereum is overtaking gold in all ways
You cannot establish a point of comparison for ETH with Gold.
It can.
A crypto just needs to be capped, secured and trusted and people will use it as a store of value.

Gold has represented a very great history for many years, so much so that it was exchanged for goods and services, in some economies they use it as a backup for fiat money and it does not have so much volatility, it is considered par excellence the best Safe Haven, the ETH depends widely of Bitcoin, every move that Bitcoin makes, ETH will react, ETH has no life of its own, and it cannot be compared because ETH has a higher price than Gold.

If many times they have compared Bitcoin to gold, knowing that the Safe Haven is gold, Powell himself, who is the president of the FED, hinted at it despite the fact that bitcoin has high volatility, and even so, Bitcoin does have life own and a history of more than 10 years.

I guess OP's basing his/er  comparison through its value.
That's a bad comparison, OP.
It's an apple and orange comparison and it wouldn't make any sense to compare those two.
One is digital and one isn't.

Not a good comparison though. Bitcoin was the one that's mostly being compared to gold. But in terms of individual characteristics, why not have them both? I hold ETH but I won't sell it for gold. Maybe some gold holders would sell gold and will buy bitcoin and ethereum for it.

However, investing in gold is more efficient and safer, this is in stark contrast to etherem, which can provide benefits but has a very large risk,
Yes, the risk that Ethereum has is higher than gold has. It's the asset for those who wants to have a safe investment and slowly but surely in increasing value.
