Metamask is another party one has to trust but seems pretty hackproof for now unless your pc is doored and etc.
The fees can be changed before betting i agree theres really high fees but the eth chain is heavily used and is a pretty high price to pay, so one could wait a bit for the bet to be processed and pay less.

A personal account is pretty risky for a site to have I think, I wouldn't risk this like that, not worth it i believe. Not yet however the first two contracts seemingly costed a bit.

After a few bids i want to write a review about ethex.bet.

The site has still been in demo mode with Ethereum Lottery (Jackpot), and I saw the link to form to join testing procedure and feedback with 0.05 ETH rewards for each accepted participant. I have some question on Ethex's Jackpot:
- How long will the test of demo mode will last?
- How about the scheduled launch day of official game on Ethex (have the team actually have planned launch day or it will totally depend on test results of demo mode)?
- How about plans to add more coins to the site payment gates? For now, we only have ETH in demo mode. At least, I think the site should allow Bitcoin, and maybe some altcoins later (such as Dogecoin)
