As much as I like the Ukrainian national team, England looks much stronger. If the victory over the Swedes was in many ways expected for me, then defeating the England national team would already be a very big sensation. Of course, this is football and everything is possible, but if we assess the chances realistically, then further I see England's passage.

@JollyGood this euros it’s all about the unexpected, hence I’m keeping my fingers crossed about England winning their game tonight. Furthermore I don’t think Ukraine can be beaten that easily, hence England player’s won’t be underestimating them.

Czech Republic vs Denmark
Ukraine vs England

In the first game I think Denmark will beat the Czech Republic. In the second game I think England will beat Ukraine. Neither game should in to extra-time or penalties

Both games yesterday were fantastic to watch. First it was Croatia who pushed Spain but eventually they lost out in extra-time after playing so well. Croatia deserved to win that game but Spain go through to the quarter-final stages.

In the second game, what a brilliant defiant display by Switzerland. After being 0-1 up in the first half and then 3-1 down later in the second half they never surrendered to France. They deserved to win the game in 90 minutes but it ended 3-3. Even in extra-time both teams tried to win while at 3-3 it but the Swiss were brilliant in defence and attack, they refused to let France bully them and eventually they went through to the quarter-finals by beating France in the penalty shoot out.

I think England will win this game without too much drama and without extra-time or penalties. Ukraine will use their moment in the limelight to try to beat Sweden and I think they will succeed. Here are my opinions on how the games will end:

I will go for Croatia to cause an upset and beat Spain. I think on paper it is clear France will win the game but the Swiss will make life difficult for them. Here are my opinions on how the games will end:

Croatia 1-0 Spain
France 2-1 Switzerland

I assumed there might be penalties after the match, but Belgium managed to keep their goal intact. Overall a very good game from both teams. it is a pity that the reigning champions stopped their path so quickly, but this is football, here the strongest wins.

It was totally bad luck for the Portugal. They were far ahead than Belgium in all statistic. Portugal Shots 23 which near 4X from Belgium but they did not achieve any goal. Belgium's luck favor to them today. Otherwise they only did 1 target shot and it was the goal. So lucky.

On the other hand Portugal played bad 2nd half. The goal was made 1st half. if they play like as first half maybe there is atleast one goal come. But it did
not happen. Very shocking news for the Cr7 supporters.  Congrats to Belgium.

RESULT: Belgium 1-0 Portugal

Portugal threw everything at Belgium in the last 25 minutes of the game and they deserved to get the equaliser to take the game to extra-time. Eventually Belgium won it 1-0 and are through to the quarter-finals.

Congratulations to Belgium. The defending champions (Portugal) are out of the competition.

The Portugal vs Belgium match really showed a balanced game between the two teams, although in that match Portugal appeared dominant but was able to be defeated by Belgium who only tried to use direct passes throughout the match, in my opinion Portugal performed quite well in attack and even Portugal was able to fired 23 shots on goal belgium,
But indeed the unlucky factor made Portugal eliminated in that match, I think the reigning champion curse still applies in Euro 2020, where the team with the status of defending champion failed to advance to the quarter-finals and lost in the preliminary round 16, as happened at Euro 2016 and Spain became the champion defending champions and were eventually eliminated in the round of 16 by Italy,
While in 2020 Portugal who became the defending champion was also defeated by Belgium .

@JollyGood, I read your thread almost every day EURO betting, I bet on a few matches last week, ended badly, I see you have some inner knowledge in score guessing.

So, I'm trying to place a bet for Croatia VS Spain, any suggestions for that, PM might be better, if you don't mind.

Belgium vs Portugal


I will go for Portugal to win this game. They are defending European Champions and they have the talent up front to cause the Belgium team problems in defence. Belgium will manage to cause problems for the Portuguese too but overall I think Portugal win go through 

Here is my opinion on how the game will end: Belgium 1-2 Portugal

There is no doubt that a lot of good matches await us, but some things will still be clearer after the preparatory matches next week. It should also not be overlooked that there may still be problems with infected players and that the real strength of the teams will know just before the start of the championship.

Consequently, it is difficult for me to predict teams that will pass the group based only on their old reputation - so although Belgium is the favorite in Group B, Denmark has always been a tough nut to crack - and Russia does not seem like a better team to me.

As for Group D, England is definitely the favorite - especially as they play at home, just like Scotland, but it should not be overlooked that Croatia played in the final of the last World Cup - although it must be admitted that it is no longer the same team. So I think all three teams have an equal chance of winning second place and their games will be pretty tough with very few goals.

Yes, on second thought, I might be wrong about Spain; their golden generation of 2008-2014 is long gone, and the new batch of youngsters just aren't made from the same stuff. @FatFork will the absence of Real Madrid player’s hurt Spain chances cause there’re some very good player’s there, and in particular Ramos should have been selected for this tournament. Also will England be hurt by Maguire absence, because it looks difficult for him to recover in time.

Italy is the undisputed favorite in Group A. In order to determine the runner-up, Turkey is marginally favored because they will have home advantage against Wales and Switzerland.

In Euro 2020 qualifying, Belgium comfortably defeated Russia in both home and away matches, therefore they are favorites. Denmark will also have home advantage in all of their group matches, so I think they are the presumptive runners-up.

No surprises in Group C, and I agree with your prediction. The Ukraine is a worthy adversary and should have no major issues against Austria.

Scots are in a tricky group. It is unlikely they'll beat England or Croatia, and they could face a close match against the Czech Republic. Even getting a point on the board would be a good result.
I think England and Croatia will qualify from Group D.

I believe Spain is the favorite in Group E, with Sweden and Poland vying for second place.

Among all the groups in this tournament, Group F might be the most uncertain. In my opinion, Le Bleus are one of, if not the best teams in the world therefore are favorites in the group. Both Germany and Portugal should defeat Hungary, despite the difficult task, and will battle for second place.

It might be starting in 2021 but the tournament is still called Euro 2020
