Hi,
It is launching to defeat bitcoin. But it will not overcome over bitcoin race. Libra will not get well public response.
So, don't worry it will trash after launching.
I have not heard any news about this issue. Libra was created not to beat Bitcoin, and there will not be any altcoins that can do this. In addition, Libra will be a stablecoin and it will be used for payment in facebook and many other related services. But with much recent opposition from European and American nations. The launch of Libra seems impossible and will take longer if they still want to launch it

My question is - will launching Libra change the statement 'cryptocurrency is not money' in better way or it'll make worse?

of course it will be money only in digital form, from the many rejections in Europe and acceptance in other countries, this will be difficult to predict, whether the launch will be no problem or European countries continue to press libra so it does not come out.
they say libra does not offer a decentralized currency but rather is centralized and controlled.
so they oppose this for this reason.

Almost every person who knows about libra and how crypto work are against it
Indeed. Every people who uses cryptocurrency for a living does not agree or against in libra because it is centralized that it doesn't have any difference with fiat currency, that is why a lot of people has a lot of doubts if they will start to invest theur money in Libra coin.

Most people are against the Libra and a lot of partners have already back off. The launching of the project is doubtable in the year 2020 as speculated
Libra is basically a digital project about crypto currencies that is as you said planned to be released in 2020. This will be definitely controlled by government as well and Mark Zuckerberg will definitely have all the data of transactions being made. I personally feel that this is a project which is being launched in collaboration with government to divert attention of people from bitcoin to a centralized project.
maybe it can happen, with libra users all over the world, of course it will be easier to promote to the world, and many governments do not agree with a system that is not centralized because they cannot control it, so this collaboration aims to rival crypto. so that the development of crypto can be hampered by it

I think that nothing will change in the end. Because the financial system is very rooted, and it is much stronger so far than the new projects that are being created to improve our situation.
But I hope that everything will change. And our grandchildren will be surprised that there were times when people had less freedom.

Any corporate company trying to do something like this will not be able to complete the project. Government agencies will attack them passively and will make their life harder than ever if they try to pursue.

Right. Libra can't call as a cryptocurrency. It's merely a token that uses Blockchain as a platform. It isn't decentralized and still controlled by others. Due to ignorance, most people overstate the launch of Libra, but Libra is not worth like a cryptocurrency. It is entirely different from what Satoshi Nakamoto wants to use Bitcoin and Blockchain to prove to everyone.
Although libra cannot be called a crypto like many cryptocurrencies here but it is a perfect copy, more precisely, it did not follow the idea of Satoshi Nakamoto, it only holds the best parts, compensating for the shortcomings that current cryptocurrencies don't own, since then, Libra has become well suited to the community and to the world market. Obviously, governments of countries do not accept crypto when it is decentralized and out of control but libra becomes easy to control, the level of acceptance will be higher, there is no reason for people to oppose this idea
Perfect copy? No, I don't think it could be as good as perfect! And about the government, they accept Bitcoin as a high-risk asset for trading, but not clearly. At this time, the cryptocurrency can't call as a currency, it's just an asset for investment. Besides, you should know the government is worried that Facebook will use Libra to create a new world currency while Facebook has made stains in customer information security. Of course, Libra may affect the position of USD and EUR. A legal currency based on Blockchain is still too far away. Smiley

Libra is much involved in regulation. many big partners like paypal, visa, ebay, mastercard, have dropped out. giving rise to a lot of negative thinking among investors. including in European countries. despite the face of launching their currency. I don't think that will change anything in crypto. and crypto remains considered a decentralized currency.
Yes, after all, the decentralized currency can only find in cryptocurrency. Libra never achieved this.

Even now its popularity among media has started to fade and I'm sure this Libra just can't get approved by the government. the project is just too risky for both the investors and the company itself and could potentially hurt their reputation if anything goes wrong. This more likely to be cancelled except zuck is ignoring all the risk and go all in.

There is a lot of governments that are against to Libra. It is a huge pain for them to experience this type of resistance from the government and there is no question for me why most of its partners leave their circle. In my opinion, it is useless currency because we already have cryptocurrencies in the market that we can use to execute fast and secure transactions.

My question is - will launching Libra change the statement 'cryptocurrency is not money' in better way or it'll make worse?

It's a tossup. It'll expose the masses to "cryptocurrency" and make the idea more accessible. However, Libra is highly controlled. Transactions can be reversed, accounts frozen. It'll give people the wrong idea about what (decentralized) cryptocurrency is.

You can't tell now what is Libra for because it isn't already in operation yet but I have to disagree on you calling Libra can't call as a cryptocurrency. Libra will be a stable coin, an asset backed crypto which means it will be used as means of trading for buying and selling goods/service. You can't just hate non-existent stuff but if you do it will be just a pure assumption.

If Libra were truly launched, they would rock the crypto world, but the crypto market will surely have a huge cash flow flowing into the coins. but the consequences that it will leave will be very terrible. Does anyone here think facebook plans to do Libra for money laundering?
I think this idea is quite reasonable because Facebook has to pay a lot of taxes to the government every year. This will be a move that shows the shady side of Facebook and I disagree with letting Libra be founded easily.
The big question is if Libra were launched, they are under regulatory hurdle and it is highly unlikely they will be able to release it as all of the major nations and their regulatory body is against the concept of a private currency and to over come all those obstacles is not an easy task, either they have to risk the current business model which is successful and i doubt they will go against the power circle to release something they are against.

I don't agree that majority of countries and their regulatory bodies are against private currencies. They just want them to be regulated which is kind of natural because you can't let something interfere into your financial and economic system and that you don't define the rules.
What will happen with Libra is yet to see but actually I don't expect to see some dramatic effects as many expect.

from the system between libra and cryptocurrency are different. between centralization and decentralization, so that there is no concern about the launch of libra, moreover libra comes from large companies, not from the government, of course libra cannot do much about government decisions

I think fighting against Libra is really a bull shit. This business is sure to make the US GDP growth very high in the coming years because it has a large market and the US economy will recover most quickly after the Chinese taxes.
this prohibition will certainly create opportunities for China to carry out a similar project and dominate the market. I think this is a mistake by the US government.
I don't think so negatively like you. Look into the distant future. presidents and parliamentarians all know that letting Libra be established is certain that the flow of money in the United States will increase and the GDP will increase as many people respond positively to this new project. But do you think that when Libra was too big and it was completely out of control, what would be the result? You certainly wouldn't want to see a series of American businesses laundering money through Facebook's Libra coin because the transactions are unregulated. then the US economy certainly had very bad effects.

Hey everyone.
Yesterday I've read an article about European countries opinion on Facebook's Libra. There are a lot of negative statements about it. (Not without Trump's tweets, of course).
What's interesting - there were no official responce from Libra yet. But they still planning to launch it in 2020.

My question is - will launching Libra change the statement 'cryptocurrency is not money' in better way or it'll make worse?
