I also participated in a new exchange which is what they do to promote the exchange. I only found myself depositing to that new exchange and lost because it looked like it was manipulated. All the top earners in the list are Chinese names I couldn't even read while I couldn't find any Chinese names in the telegram channel.
I would certainly avoid joining trading competition unless the exchange is as well-known already and not new.

Nope, I haven't participate in any trading competition.

I feel like it's wasting my time and i don't think it will increase my skill because most of time I do trading without using technical skill, I'm just using my feeling and global economic news. I haven't lose in trading because if I lose, I will hold until the price comeback like when I bought it. Tongue

Now I'm in floating loss since I bought Bitcoin when the price was $67K. Cheesy

What kind of trading competition is this on the same event like traders have in different table and will see if who has the higher gains of all time or just an exchange competition like the binance and other platform held?.
I never been participated in those events because of course I'm not an active daily trader that grab every market movement just a casual trader and also some of those have a target goals for the largest trades in their leaderboard but if those have seminars and open forum I guess I will participate those are additional gain of information to my trading journey too.

I participated in my first trading competition back in 2021, and it was an incredible experience! It was a team competition, and I was privileged to be among a talented group of traders. Although we didn't emerge victorious, I seized the opportunity to enhance my skills and learned a great deal.

I still recall frequently revisiting the live feed on YouTube to analyze and improve my strategy. The competition had a profound impact on me, and I emerged a better trader. What are your thoughts on trading competitions? If you're aware of any upcoming competitions, I'd love to hear about them!

Joined KCGI 2024 a while back. And I'm loving the experience. It tests your trading psychology and pushes you to the limit. There'll be a live draw tomorrow on YT. You can join and probably you might get lucky to win some rewards too.

I'd say like others, trading competitions aren't for weak hands. One must have mastered trading and have a substantial amount in the bag to opt for it. For this event you've shared, from what I'm seeing, I know it's the exchange's annual event. They may simply be trying to show how legit their competition is by drawing for winners in a Livestream. It's encouraging though that they'll also reward those watching the Livestream. Com'on, this is happening just tomorrow, 28th June

I haven't tried but I believe this could uplift some confidence when one of our teammates gives some boost and support. It is a good way of learning and urges you then to work hard to develop helpful strategies. Contributing new ideas benefits everyone whereas if you are new and are not skillful enough, you are the one who benefits more. This is an advantageous move for beginners but as we know, it is not competition that solely makes someone become a competitive trader or become successful, it is all about how a trader develops themselves when alone. A lot of changes when doing alone compared to doing in a team because decision-making may vary.

But still, I preferred to do trading because if I commit mistakes, I only blame myself and nobody blames me as well.

What are your thoughts on trading competitions?
It will require a lot of confidence to want to partake in a trading competition, Because it will require a lot of skill and confidence in yourself first and what you bring to the table if you are in a team. I do not think that it will be beneficial for any newbie in trading to want to try out a trading competition when their knowledge and skill in trading is not enough yet because if it is an individual competition and they come out last, that can really hurt their confidence and decision to be traders.

Which platform did you try?

I used to join a lot of forex ones back in the old days, babypips did a lot, kinda like forum run competitions anyway, and mostly not needing a big bankroll. Good to get experience especially on particular platforms.

Tried a few on Pancakeswap when it was new. Got a few NFTs and made money, you could do that with Uniswap and all that too.

But the ones on CEX I think are hard to win. And also I don't think it really improves you as a trader. It's all built for scalpers and wash traders Tongue You're competing with bots basically washing Smiley

There was a portfolio competition here on btt (which I haven’t joined) but I haven’t noticed a trading competition before. People who play safe usually don’t do well in these competitions. It is like gambling. Low risk takers are guaranteed to lose the competition but they will probably keep their initial investment. High risk takers on the other hand, may or may not lose their initial investments but since they are taking so much risk, if they win big, they will also win the competition. I do 3-5 trades annually so I don’t think I can win a trading contest.

never participated in one because the odd of me winning probably low, I mean other people have sophisticated tools to start with such as bloomberg terminal and so on, ain't no way people with limited information could have the edge over people that own something like that, though if it's technical analysis it does still work for these kind of competition. not to mention that like also other have mentioned its a race of capital, the people with big capital got the biggest advantage if the criteria is based on how much profit we earn not the percentage.

I just don't feel like these trading competition is really designed for the average joe at all in my opinion but from your statement it seems just following this kind of competition regardless of the reward might give good experience.

honestly i've seen many trading competition from dexes too from perpetual to spot usually the people that got higher rank are the one that always active almost as if 24/7 too, probably a team, so for individual like me, just further lower the chance of winning.

Generally trading competition is for the marketing of the project, boosting the volume, attracting new investors, etc. Most of the time the high capital holder enters such trading competition trades as you and I with average capital mostly avoid such type of trading competition but it can be a good opportunity in a side way.
During the completion due to the hype and volatility by taking a few precise trades you can generate a decent profit, except that the trading competitions are not recommended for newbies and early traders.

These are my words on trading competition, there are some other points but the core is here about what I think of these competitions, so I thought let's find an old post as this is also an old recurrent topic so let's save some energy for today.

Just add something in it that is also covered in other topics that, it its a capital race, if you have good capital and you are experienced enough go for it otherwise stay away.

I was trying to join some trading competition on Binance a month ago but there's a requirement I didn't meet the requirements that's why I failed.
You are lucky that you experienced the competition how about your team did they contact you and ask about your strategies?
I saw some videos on YouTube who join in competition usually their favorite indicator is vwap and by doing scalping they can increase the PNL pretty fast their skills are Amazing I learned a bit and copied their strategy but in my case, instead of making a profit I lost much than win.
That is why I decided to trade in an hourly time frame instead of a minute or 15-minute trading because it's pretty risky, and your capital will be lost quickly.
