I’m surprised that Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is not available on the list of potential risk especially if you are just sitting on front of your computer from work then continue it at home for gambling. I’ve got it before and it’s really painful. Most of the gambler was high risk on this disorder since most of gambling games just need to be watched or carefully play by just sitting.

It’s nice to read topic that discussed health issue incorporated with gambling. Not mental but physical since this is really happening and I experienced it myself before I don’t manage much my physical health due to busyness at work and enjoyment on gambling.

This is actually what have been taught during my high school days when someone's fingers just got hard to move. And they told us that we got to keep exercising while we incase just have to sit working hours in front of a keyboard. Maybe this syndrome is just not very common today. That was just that time, because today even the kids that stay online the whole night playing online games are not experiencing the condition.

OP lists health risks that aren't really particularly for gamblers but to all people of any profession but type warriors online. But one that I have myself is hunger.  Grin  I kept sitting on my computer for hours I skipped meals all the time.

Exercise is good for those who are sitting long at work because there must be side effects. This is one of the reason why I use both my phone and my laptop to gamble because sometimes I would love to change positions and postures when using my phone.

Gambling should not be done frequently especially when you are stressed up yourself at work, you should rest and stretch your body to avoid future health issues. Have a time limit for your gambling activities during the week days and weekends.

Yea, sitting too long to do something that requires the brain to reason and calculate continuously is not too advisable. It is better that after one stays for a short time, they should take a break and do something else just to refresh the mind and the brain, because there are some points where the brain must have been overstressed and it can become dull and can result in depression.

Why did I create this topic: My nephew noticed that after I come home from work that involves sitting the whole day, I continue to play or gamble for hours, so he gave me a warning that too much sitting will have a bad effect on gambling.

I may not agree on this completely because when we are at the place of work, we try to give more attention and seriousness towards the job for the day and there is no any chance of being free to attend to other things aside the specified task on the job, but in gambling, we have the privilege of exercising our brain and mind as well as the physical body each time we are gambling, also, it may help us get relieved of the busy ay we already had, because gambling is about having fun, but this does not call for addiction in such a way that whenever we are that privilege to gamble, we cant behave ourself by doing it in a normal and expected manner.

It doesn’t just apply to gamblers but people who sit for a long time, not necessarily gambling. It is best to do some stretching in between breaks, and I think that’s going to be helpful for your body.

I know a friend who had a very troubling sickness where he didn’t have good posture when he was playing; he was slouching and then just hit a nerve, and then he almost had a stroke because of it. I believe that having a good posture and an economy would be helpful.

Long hours of sitting would definitely influence your body. And that is true, not only those who are gamblers but those who have such activity on their daily life. This is why everyone should be aware of what they are doing everyday. It is not about just gambling but every activity you are doing that consume a lot of long hours of sitting.

Sedentary work is not even good. If you have a sedentary work, it is better you do some exercises at times just to exercise your body and to make you sleep easily.

Gambling for too long is not good. That is why I gamble sometimes for short time. I can just use 5% of my weekly income on roulette at once and try my luck. But sometimes I just feel like to gamble for long and use lower amount like $0.5 each time.

Do remember, sedentary lifestyle has long been studied to be one of the contributors in a lot of health problems such as cardiovascular disease, cancer risk, metabolic disorders, musculoskeletal disorders among others. So with your lifestyle, it can give you a lot of health problems if you haven't been monitoring yourself in front of your games.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
if you are a work-from-home guy or working in the office and you sit the whole time you are at work, and you continue to play online for hours, you can suffer from these health risks.
"There's time for everything" .. why go through the stress and call it fun after a long and hectic day off work? a job that runs 9-5 is already time consuming, am I not doing other things aside gambling off duty? That's lame!

There are chronic gamblers who are glued in their chair for hours, and they are likely to develop these health risks.
How about you? Are you aware that sitting too long while playing without interruption can be harmful to your health?
In everything you do, good or bad, there's always an effect that'd ruin you in few days or in the nearest future... Sitting for hours, hitting the spins and getting that anxiety everytime can be harmful; The first urge that clears the pathway for every other health challenges is ADDICTION.... Once it slowly becomes part of you, you're toast!.... In some ways, it can also make you lose focus in solving real life problems.

I agree that sitting in one posture for long is not good for health but you can always have a 2 or 3 minute walk after sitting for an hour or so. And this should be done in the office where you spend around 8 to 9 hours. So when you come to home, how many hours do you gamble? I think it will be way less than the time spent in the office.

I hope you got my point here. Do not blame the health risk in this case to gambling only where you may spend a max of 2 or 3 hours while you remain seated in the office for 9+ hours. So i think we should first try to fix how we can be more flexible in the office and not be in sitting position for so many hours.
