the rate that people can create accounts is astounding. it's no surprise why people can make such accounts and spam when they wish, or input their 'opinion' and then throw the account away

There is some insane guy that has been creating new accounts and posting about how BTC is dead and how everyone needs to sell for what seems like years now, example, just now:

The mods are pretty quick and deleting this garbage but sometimes they aren't around and I've seen like 5 threads at the same time or more by this guy.

It's not about damage, it's just a nuisance. They manage to derail threads very effectively, and failing that simply drown normal readers in 0-quality posts.

I wouldn't be afraid of Newbie - troll accounts. Everyone knows that opinions of experienced users are far more important than new ones. Worse, when Troll buy an account from an experienced and trusted user.. It can make much more damage.

All my BTC is from mining and all  mined BTC is in new miners. These are  a lot .

I wouldn't worry too much about such newbies. If you value the readers of bitcointalk as highly as yourself you will find that writing "bitcoin is...doomed" or any such statements will either be ignored or be found as annoying as you find em. I haven't encountered enough of them yet to find them annoying.

Its not a real IP ban, its an evil points system. If an account gets banned on an IP, the next time someone registers an account with that IP it requires a small payment. So given enough money, you can endlessly create accounts on the same IPs. I vote for true IP bans but its unlikely to happen.

the mods are aware of this and have expressed frustration at coping with their incessant drivel

they don't want to limit the ability of the actual newbies to post , fine , but newbies can *read* any thread they want and search the forum for specific answers so why not restrict their posting ability ?

what needs to happen though , since there is 1000 bullshit shill troll accounts being created per handful of actual new accounts , is to institute an extreme level of newbie jail so these people cannot continue to abuse this forum and constantly pollute every single thread , while simultaneously creating a dedicated thread for newbie Q&A - which they would have to monitor closely , and continue to delete the likely continuing shitstream of troll posts in the interest of allowing the actual newbies to have their questions answered - a 6 month 100 post counts to escape the newbie Q&A thread seems like an adequate restriction to force these people to stop - they only get to post in 1 thread , it's closely monitored , and they get immediately banned for blatant trolling and don't get to post in any other thread until 6 months and 100 clean posts have been made without them being banned for their activity - done

Standard shill tactic, attempt to get subject to talk about some other stupid topic to try and derail subject.  Let's get the subject back on track as to how much you get paid to make hundreds of shill accounts per day and post?  Sign me up too so I can join you and just use the funds to buy Bitcoin causing a net positive effect on buy side?  Shilling to victory.

You already gave yourself away by spamming with too many fake shill accounts.  Your posts might have been useful in influencing sentiment if you kept them at a minimum, but once you create 100 fake accounts per day spamming the price is going to 0, everyone already knows it's a paid for shill the second they see a one star account now.

Whoever pays for you should sue you and hire a new shill because when you make it obvious what you're doing, it has the opposite effect of what they're paying you for.

Just ignore them.You have a button for that. In the last time I use it daily and will continue doing so. So nothing to worry and I let these clowns talk as much crap as they want. In the end they will give up one time. I'm having the longer breath.

*puts on tinfoil hat*  Maybe the reason they're allowed to run amok is some of their salary is trickling down to persons in charge of imposing said restrictions... 

So people are supposed to believe that you waste your entire day creating thousands of new spam accounts to "warn" people about Bitcoin because you're a really good guy and doing it for charity?  Yea, everyone is really going to believe that.


Definitely need some bigger type of restrictions on new accounts to keep the paid for shill spammers out.

Shop elsewhere. There's plenty more civilised sections of this forum and the choice for other forums is growing. It's just a fact of life that won't be going away any time soon.

Apparently it's not that easy. They're able to generate endless new IPs, it seems. Banning newbies from this subforum might help, but it doesn't seem like the admins are going to do that.  Furthermore, this is a very trollish sub anyway, so it'd be a pretty big policy change to start intervening here. I'd be all for it, personally - maybe everyone who feels so inclined should just start reporting all the junk and the volume of reports might sway the mods.
