There are so many unknown wonderful things in this world that only few people privy, and I think bitcoin is one of those. Some heard about it but can't fully explained what it is and how valuable it is. But I guess public will know it sooner, because all hidden mystery are meant to be discover.
It's not considered mainstream yet, also they may attribute it to something else entirely or have believe it has a bad reputation or something silly. So yeah we can each go out and teach two or three people about Bitcoin and the blockchain and eventually we'll see progress with wide spread adoption.

In this digital era,most people would have heard about it.But most of them would have thought it as a new technological invention which would only exist for a short period.They would have compared it with many ponzi schemes without trying to know about it.But definitely,we are blessed enough to have known about bitcoin and to get benefit from it.But this situation would not exist long and very soon,every one would come to know about this remarkable currency bitcoin having a value of around $3886.
In my country maybe not too much to know, but on the island of Bali is a lot to know but only on the island of Bali, I myself live in Java island when will buy something in the store or brand restaurant all say no .. They have not dared to accept Bitcoin because the government In my country have not legalized bitcoin.
Its the same in place I live, its same with store owners, restaurants, cafe bars, and still many people are not familiar with bitcoin and all things that bitcoin can offer. I don't blame them, they will regret one day because they didn't listen me, many people could get in two years ago when I found out about bitcoins but for them all this was one big scam.
Now there are many more things connected with bitcoins, popularity grows in past years and for few years all world will know about bitcoin. That is inevitable, we are working on that, we are spreading the idea and that already have results, bitcoin is on TV and news more then before, that will help a lot in promotion of bitcoin.

To be honest, I work in a bank, and I've also been asking questions about bitcoin to bank employees at work, but very few of them know what bitcoin is, and just understand that bitcoin is digital money, so it's true Very many people do not know what bitcoin is, even people who have long worked in the banking world

That is why, i also stop mentioning and telling what is bitcoin to other people because it doesn't seem that they are interested for innovation that can be achieved in bitcoin, they always tell me that it is nonsense and it will not make any change in my life so i just ignore them and i always tell myself that i will not mention bitcoin to others because it is just wasting my time.

Most people I find still have zero idea what BTC is unless they are friends with the likes of us.. I don't think we are even in early adoption stage.. we are in "the chasm" .. it would appear we are going to survive though... appear anyways..

Yes thats true not all knows about bitcoin mostly some restaurants, company and etc. I think bitcoin knew of some people that always use social media and some searching job online. When they discover the bitcoin they grab the opportunity. although bitcoin price is increase more than $35xx, still in out there many people don't know anything about bitcoin and they really don't care about bitcoin. I think if they know bitcoin, i am sure that they will shock with the price and they will attracted to bitcoin and join with bitcoin like us. in my city, there only few people which in between 19-46 years that know bitcoin but they only know and not trying to join or use bitcon.
Well I think it is all because of the complexity of bitcoin to ordinary people which are not exposed or well rounded on the advancement of technology. Even I do not believed bitcoin at first because it seems to good to be true for me that there is such a digital currency which really gives an opportunity to earn and just like the money. I told stories about bitcoins on my family but they were not interested to it as they do not understand it. They see it more as a scam and not an income. Anyways, sooner or later when people get to know more about bitcoin and bitcoins continue to stand on its pace, it could attract more user. Hopefully.

Absolutely true, tought right now, there's just a 1%-5% of world population who know and have bitcoin. and with that mount, the price now is around $3.5k. Well dont you think its not too late to buy now, and keep it as a longterm investmen. There's still a few people who know what is the gold (bitcoin) is. but we already have it , and getting more of it.
Actually, I think there is only 1% at most of the world's population who knows and have bitcoin. The huge part of the world's population does not have any idea of the existence of this stuff. If that 1% grows to 3%, this $3.5k value that we already consider high is really very low.
It's not much surprise to see that when we hit the milestones and rallies, it drags media attention which makes more people start using Bitcoin. I am getting personal messages and questions on Quora from the strangers to learn more about Bitcoin. The fact is that most of the people don't have the idea about how it works and the utility part of it but they are willing to enter in Bitcoin for speculation purpose (no offence). I am expecting a sustainable growth in the user base of Bitcoin in next year which would lead us to $5K mark and offline market transaction infrastructure in major cities of the world.
Now many are already familiar with bitcoin but they do not want to mourn with bitcoin for not believing denagn given bitcoin income, let them think first nati also they will realize the existence of bitcoin.
The percentage of people who want to know about bitcoin will never exceed fiat because of regulatory factors, bitcoin also requires internet and there are still 40% of people who cannot access it in this world because of poverty factor.
But their biggest factor for not wanting to know about bitcoin is due to lack of intention and trust, I met many people who were afraid to go further because of the unstable bitcoin fluctuations and they were only interested in the concept of centralization.

People are afraid to try something new that's why when they know about bitcoin, they would either just think about it as scam or something that would be gone after a while. There are others who are interested to it because of its high value but because they are not tech savvy, they would just go back to earning from traditional business or from stocks and mutual funds that's been long existing and they are familiar with it. They don't trust something that is very high of value and something new because maybe they have experience before of scams wherein they would invest money promising them high returns but would suddenly be gone.
