This sounds like an interesting platform. I seem to have missed the beta testing so I eagerly await the official launch.
Anyways, following this thread.

I am also following this thread because it is rare to see the collaboration of such things with P2P trading. Esports betting already got popular and people are very smart now-a-days. Seems everything is okay and now waiting for the lunch to see the next blast from Exbet. Following this thread to get updated.

Hi Swopon, welcome! Nice to have you on-board  Smiley

Yes, we're closing on full launch, update here later this week. Twitter also for updates. Once we go live our email newsletter will go out and we will be making a press release.
This is great news. I recommended launching the site with some great offers to attract more gamblers(Deposit bonuses etc). This could help build up liquidity quickly in a short period of time especially considering that there are very few crypto betting exchanges.

Also, I hope In-play betting options will be available at launch since this was lacking during the soft launch op.

Hi Haunebu

We will not launch with deposit bonuses. As other users have pointed out on this thread, the betting exchange allows users to "transfer out" deposit bonuses by placing bets in illiquid markets with complicit accounts. So we need to structure bonuses differently, and that is something we plan for the future.

In-play betting is a big deal, you are 100% right. All markets will be available in-play from launch, but we cannot guarantee that in-play liquidity will be strong at launch. However, we are confident that market maker activity in-play will grow in coming months. Something to keep an eye on!

I'm intrigued with the exchange feature of this gambling site. Can somebody send a link where I can read more about that? I checked the website but it is currently under maintenance for the full launch.

Hi Yogee!

This wikipedia article is pretty good for explaining the differences between a sportsbook (like bet365, sportsbet.io) and a betting exchange (like Betfair, Exbet):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betting_exchange

When Exbet launches we will have our own explainers and tutorials available. Please let us know here if you have any more questions on betting exchange and how Exbet works.

Well the tests went well, if the site works as expected, only an own goal by the owners can fail the venture.
I get the feeling that many punters don't really understand the concept of an exchange, is new(or fairly new) to the bitcoin world of gamblers.

Why I say this is on this very thread people ask of cashout button.
A cashout button is not needed on an exchange. When people  use the site they will soon understand.

Cashout is very convenient though, especially for people who might be on mobile. Betfair & BetDAQ both offer it so it's definitely a nice to have (especially for more casual bettors).

Cashout button is nice for more casual punters, agreed. But could be expensive to use until the liquidity is there, which is maybe the point Intrepidity is making.

We think there's a lot we need to do right to make Exbet succeed. Not scoring own goals is a good start but we need to go up the other end and stick a couple in the net as well  Smiley

But what do you think will be the major problem for other players that they may encounter in your site?

The main "problem" will be liquidity. On a technical level everything worked fine during soft launch and I don't see any big issues arising there. But liquidity is ultra important, because only with liquidity you will attract more people, which then turns into exponential growth. Pre-match liquidity isn't even that important, but exchanges live and die with inplay liquidity - trading sports events is the bread and butter for them.
You saw and still see other fiat exchanges struggling with this and with a crypto-only betting exchange this is even more of a challenge. And all this with the biggest exchange not being accessible for loads of people, where you would think that other exchanges get/got a good market share, but this is not really the case.

You can compare it with Poker, where we have SwC Poker present in this forum, who have a super cool software, which is working fine; no KYC. They even sponsor a private Poker Series in here, but they struggle with getting players as well, because everyone is playing at PokerStars where there are loads of tables, tournaments, Sit'n Go's 24/7. So there is no reason to leave (you have already been KYC'ed).

Sorry for hijacking this thread with SwC things @exbet.io, but I think your situation/challenge is comparable.

And how are you going to address them?

Market-makers, low commission (1% is super cool), good support, community building, maybe some promos, social media, marketing. And then pray and have patience Smiley

Superb answer, hitting multiple nails on their head!

We won't add anything, too busy taking notes  Wink

Okay, got it! I just hope that you will be active in this journey of yours in the gambling scene. Because a lot of game sites are only active during their early days, but when they become a lil bit established, it is hard to reach them. Since this is not the usual sportsbook that a gambler will encounter everyday, I just wish you best of luck in gaining players during your actual launch.

Yeh, that is good advice Twinkledoe. A successful betting exchange is a network, or a community, in some sense. And the exchange continually needs to work to build and maintain that network. As soon as we lose touch with the people using the exchange, the Exbet product and business will suffer. We intend to keep on keepin it real  Wink

Thanks for your comments!

Oh, for sure, convenient for punters.
Until the site gains traction though, it would be very costly for the casual better.

I don't think liquidity will be a problem. Our market makers on the Degens Betting Exchange also are market makers on Fairlay, Betfair etc. The only issue is if exbet requires KYC, that will deter quite a few market makers which are American based as I presume they will not be allowed to use the site.

Just putting some US Elections markets up on Exbet before launch, we are enjoying making the on-site banner ad Grin
