When I tried to deposit btg on hitbtc, my wallet didn't recognize the address.

When I tried it, it didn't work with the QR code but worked fine when I typed in the address by hand.

I have some BTG in my Coinomi wallet.  I want to deposit it on an exchange.  I tried binance, hitbtc and yobit.  Binance and yobit have disabled btg deposits.  When I tried to deposit btg on hitbtc, my wallet didn't recognize the address.  So is this coin DOA, or are people gonna be able to use it?  I tried bitstar.com too, and btg isn't on the list of coins to deposit.  This is getting ridiculous.

Yobit is one of the exchange that will support bitcoingold transaction.

HitBTC is another popular exchange supporting bitcoingold.

But I don't think they'll be taking deposit or withdrawal on the first day.

So if you bitcoin on these exchanges you will automatically have on your account bitcoin gold is that it? Sorry Im really new to this forks.
Yes correct and you can trade it anytime if market opens in that particular exchanges I transfer some of my btc in hitbtc before the snapshot but its not credited yet as of now maybe it will take more hours.

Ive read somewhere that ita not safe to transfer btc now. It has something to do with the relays and stuffs.

I use cryptopia exchange, they don't support it because bitcoin cash has no developer team and moving cold storage funds is risky.

?

Bitcoin cash has a dev team.. but this is in reference to Bitcoin GOLD which also has a (shady af) dev team (lead by a gpu and asic salesman who is shady af).
I dumped mine.

Is there a consolidated list of exchanges that will be supporting Bitcoin Gold? Those that won't, any particular reason why?

As far as I know Poloniex and bittrex will gonna support Bitcoin Gold. Because in my perception Btg has nothing difference to BCH just recently this past August 2017.  So I am very much confident that we the community in this industry had nothing to worry about this things especially for the coming hard fork.

Based on what was posted on the official site of Bitcoin Gold, YoBit, HitBTC, AbuCoins, Beatcoin, Bitcoin India, BitStar and BitBay are among the list of exchanges that will show support to this fork.

But none of the really big names are on there - Poloniex, Bittrex, GDAX, Gemini, Kraken etc.

I think gold will be a bit of a damp squib.

I only uses Bittrex Cryptocopia and Liqui mostly

Bittrex mainly, but their status on BTG is currently unknown as they don't declare what coins are they accepting/upcoming before they really confirm. Guess there are 5 more days so i guess Bittrex would most likely Split for us, just like how BTC and BCH splitted

As Bittrex has not announced anything till now, better to move your Bitcoins to a address which you know its private key. This way, you can import your Bitcoin Gold to any wallet you want.

How about wallets. Anybody know which wallets will support BTG?

no bitcoin wallet supports bitcoin gold and they never will support it either. the same as bitcoin cash you will have to visit their website which is btcgpu.org and download the clients they offer. so far there is nothing to download because it is not even ready. and if it becomes ready there will only be their full node which is like bitcoin core you have to download and use.
