2023 should be a year of consolidation for Bitcoin, the movement to the next bull run should have started in 2023. If history repeats itself, then the reversal process will begin in mid-2023. However, this is not guarantee, because we all never know how the market will move in 2023. This is if we talk about the potential price of BTC in 2023.

However, to follow the news like you mentioned, I do not agree, because most of media is not neutral, many are reporting small things to be excessive FUD. If you want to learn, The most be considered is the source, because if the source is wrong, then everything goes wrong. Self-analysis, self-research is the key to learn, (IMO), because this will refer to your own decisions and you don't have to wait for news that sometimes makes you panic and doing wrong decission.

I don't know, but for me, I'm not expecting bitcoin to recover quick this year, on the contrary I think we could see another bottom price.

So I'm not expecting any great things as I have said, and yes, it's could to not have that big expectations so that we don't get disappointed. I think the best thing to do is just long for the long term. If you have that in mind, then you will just accumulate as much bitcoin or any other crypto that you think will make a huge returns in the bull run. So stick with this plan and you will be good.

So I think everyone would expect that bitcoin would rally again this year, and believe me I'm also rooting for it, but I realize that we should not expect too much, why? because too much expectation will only disappoint us when we don't reach our goal or target
I didn't expect this, why?
I've been here in the crypto space for many years and I witnessed so many times how bullrun and when it commonly happened.
It's expected that there will be a bull market when after a halving, most commonly after a year.

I think so too. Normally the Bull Market is after the next halving, unless we call going from $16k to $30k a Bull Market.

Another thing is that there are certain influencers who are predicting very high prices, even beating ATH this year but I think that, although this cycle does not have to repeat the previous ones, and so it is being seen, that we will beat ATH in 2023 is extremely unlikely.

  • Stick to your goals/plans...
This is what I am going to do. Keep accumulating, no matter what. The best thing a long-term investor can do is forget about the noise.

whatever will happen in 2023 I think it's 100 times better than 2022, too many scams and too many platforms gone down the drain! so if these events don't happen again it will already be a better year, I don't expect anything on the market value of Bitcoin even if according to many he will return to the values and even beyond the last bullrun but no one can give us a certainty, how it will go...it will go!

"Tomorrow will be better than yesterday," a motto from my childhood, Why did you decide that there would be fewer fraudulent projects? Why do you think it will be a hundred times better? Children's illusions. Come down to earth; your desires will not always coincide with your capabilities. Hundreds and thousands of frauds fly into the pipeline regularly and annually, but exactly the same number are born.

    • Never stops or be discourage with your past failure, everyone experience this even the best
At the end of the day, standing our grounds no matter what happens will make us stronger and more knowledgeable in the future, so when we fail just keep on grinding and learning, because no matter what happen, if we keep on pushing forward we can get there even with a small steps.

I would say differently—you should not stand stubbornly on your own when you receive failures and mistakes. During a bear market, it is best to reconsider your plans or, in some cases, reduce your ambitions for a while. Recognition of one's mistakes is a very wise decision; only those who do nothing are not mistaken, and self-righteousness does not always keep pace with the truth. You need to be confident, but being too confident can be dangerous.

I don't want to hear or read too much news in the media. looking at Facebook also lots of people share news related to crypto, but negative news seems to bother me.
now I'm just learning to be more patient in withholding the Bitcoin that I have. likewise to have more other assets that might bring good luck.
I don't have good skills in market analysis. just pick an altcoin that does look good and then just wish the new year luck to come.

News is the last thing you want to listen to when it comes to crypto, out of hundreds of news out there only bad news about crypto are genuine, others are mostly fakes, OP this is the only invalid point on your list that I won't agree with.

We have "buy the rumor sell the news" for a reason.
I don't think all news outlets are anti-bitcoin. Some valid and reliable outlets publish genuine and reliable information that can be beneficial. I think we should always ensure that we don't get information from a single source but do comprehensive research about the market. This is because the information is a potent tool in the bitcoin space especially if you are trading.

I might not expect that bitcoin would get to the price it was before the bear run, but I am optimistic that the price would appreciate this year. But regardless of what 2023 holds for bitcoin, I am sticking to my plan of hodling as much as I can afford because better days are coming.

But I tend to agree with you, don't expect too much that there's a bull market this year, it could be better if set our mindset that Bitcoin investment is a long-term purpose, not a short term.

So whatever happens in the market, never sell your coin at a loss position.

    • Stick to your goals/plans, manage your investment properly, with research

Just because you made research, doesn't mean you will succeed. A lot of time people don't know how to do reseach properly. Googling about some new shitcoin is not "research".

    • Read news about crypto, if you read news there are things that you will learn from it

Crypto news are mostly garbage. Lots of paid shilling by shitcoin promoters. Lots of attention to scams and useless projects.

    • Never stops or be discourage with your past failure, everyone experience this even the best

Failures are lessons to be learned. Those who fail to learn are going to repeat their mistakes. People could lose more and more money by chasing a shitcoin that would make them rich.

Yunno what? Everything the OP wrote is something any regular motivator would prolly advice, or say -- anyone would simply have in their reservoir, as the year begins .... As a matter of fact, no one would feel so dumb to the point of "not having any plans for the new year" - that'll prolly the most stupidest decisions to make( NOT having any plans is a CHOICE yunno?)?
I'm happy that you've decided to motivate and encourage alot that started the year without a plan; or atleast those that had different plans, but weren't sure 'bout putting out any effort to materialize it. It's inspired me, same to the rest of the thousand...

Apparently,  the bear market has lasted a for a long time and so, you might excuse us for having bull expectations for the new year 2023 and not just because it's a new year but because, it's the year that ushers in the bitcoin halving. This from history has been known to be followed by a bullrun and possibly, an ATH. Perhaps we might not have a bullrun for the year 2023 but, we might find price appreciating much more.

Having too much expectations is just one way to getting disappointed but, it ain't much of a disappointment when your making profit except, for those whom must have taken loans to invest which remains a bad way for an investment and could lead to loses too. In all, sticking to what is real and realisable would be better.

    In cryptocurrency, expectations are different, and you would have pointed out the side your thread belongs to; bullish or bearish expectations. From your tone, you want the bullish run I guess, but for the next person, there are expecting a bear market to enable them to purchase bitcoin at a cheaper rate. Being well aware that the bull market will come again. Saying we should lower our expectations not to be disappointed, is an incomplete statement for cryptocurrency users having known that different entities are in the market for different reasons which include;

    • Taking profits to recover from losses such people have lots of expectations for the cryptocurrency market to go bullish and end up getting disappointed if it doesn't, which could mean that your article is referring to this group.
    • Full-time Hodlers they're people who won't sell bitcoin this year even though the expectancy of the first-named gets even, the market gets an all-time high, they have no reason to be disappointed.
    • Buying the dip Those that expect the market to go so low this year; buying bitcoin at a cheaper rate and waiting for the all-time high so that they'll cash out big.
    • Even they're people that keep buying low or high regardless of the conditions.

I think the expectations for the bitcoin market in 2023 are uncertain and not everybody has the same expectations for the market, we all differ and no need to bother about lowering or lifting our expectations about bitcoin this year. I expect bitcoin to continue striving, achieving its goal, and getting adopted by businesses and people alike. The goals of everyone will be achieved, whether a person wants profits or wishes to buy the dipper dip it's all good for the currency.

    • Read news about crypto, if you read news there are things that you will learn from it

You also have to know, sometimes news from the media is also not good for our psychology. it gives fast information but sometimes it makes the planning we make a little shaky.

I follow the news in the media. but I'm often late to know the big news. I just try to focus on what I have planned for the long term. no interference from anywhere.

new year, with new hopes, and with new situations. we all hope that all our plans will be completed and according to our expectations. although sometimes we need a little longer time.

Part of the expectations i will advise os to avoid high risk and invest right on bitcoin and hold for some time before selling, one must learn from 2022 hardships and scams related offences that has challenged many investors, we must invest right and avoid losing our asset to a thin air by our slight mistakes when it comes to making money or profit in cryptocurrency, our eagerness to making this money must be controlled in other not to lead us astray to loosen the little we had, scam is real and we must learn from others mistakes.

I agree with the other tips except this one

    • Read news about crypto, if you read news there are things that you will learn from it
There's so many false and wrong news out there, not to mention the news that like to frame or just a rumor. Those articles are rubbish, one of those article is cryptogeek, I hope everyone doesn't read any news from this article although this site has a good SEO, that's usually make this site show on the top of the first page.

I guess the right phrase should be getting your news on verified websites and not on third-party websites that share false information. With this, the responsibility falls on your shoulders in looking for the right websites for the information.

Of course, everyone wants to profit at the end of the day. Bearing this in mind, you should also consider the things that are bound to happen, such as the incoming fork this 2024. While there may be no big news so far this 2023 that affects the price of crypto, be ready just in case something happens big. Always have some reserve cryptocurrency in order to at least maximize your profit in the end.
