I would be freaked out by this if it is a trend.
That would hurt as hell to have something stuck in your eye balls.  Sad

Wow that actually sounds pretty cool but at the same time very scary. Technology is advancing quickly.

It seems in some ways tech is adancing but usable tech for us lot seems to take a while, going to be old men by the time all the good stuff comes out Sad

Lets see  what happens as Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

We don't need to go to schools, we don't needs books, laptops, calculator, cellphones, clocks, television.

When I read stuff like this and think of the road we're heading down, I'm for once glad to be in my 40s and hopefully will be gone before they have assumed total control.

Ya sometimes we keep blaming the society now but offcourse it's not just part of today's technology but also we were the generation who raised them. Let's also give blame to media (sarcastically). There are good and bad info's that come from media.

Into the topic, i think after some time it will bring problem to the eyes and its not really a fancy idea to decorate thy selves.

I don't think I'll be permitting Google to actually enter my body any time soon. Unless I'm dating one of their execs and they want to use a strapon on me. And I'm not doing that either.

As nice as this is, there could be a malfunction on these types of devices one way or another due to connection issues and the person using it could lose the ability to see normal all of a sudden because it needs certain things to function correctly. Even though google seems to do a lot of various projects lately that have amazing capabilities, this could be also used as a spy tech like they could put something else there as well.

Like recording everything you look at.

then collect data, and make such a tech that can see everywhere, probably to find terrorists, robbers, wanted people or to find people to be robbed or something else. who knows  Huh

Nevermind what you see in the world... think about what they are going to be able to see in your MIND!

In theory, with the wireless uplink, signals can be used to subconsciously use your mind to process whatever data they stream via lightwave. Technology of this sort already exists.

It's.. MIND BLOWING!! Cheesy

I wouldn't want my eye anywhere near that.

No matter how much I love technology solutions like this scare me a bit. This could be so terrible missused and so many things could go wrong.

perfetcly exactly agreed.. although technology finds great solutions for our problems, evil-minded people can abuse this solutions.. they can turn the wold worse place for sure..

I think it is too risky, Practically it has no advantage to the society except the  visual effects on the visual part.

Not to judge but its not the same as tattoos, For me tattoos are ok but eyeball injection?? na a..

It can have advantages to society. Could be used to replace some types of corrective surgery like the article says. It is not only aesthetic changes. Maybe later could be used for direct connection to the internet or something. Instead of monitors or glasses. And like others said to build the greatest porn database in the world.

http://www.cnet.com/news/google-patents-device-that-you-inject-into-your-eyeball/

Quote
Up next in "terrifying things I don't ever want to have done": Google has filed a patent for a vision-correcting electronic device that has to be injected directly into your eye.

The device, Forbes reports, is designed to help the focusing of light onto the retina, resulting in the correction of poor vision. It will contain its own storage, radio and lens and will apparently be powered wirelessly from an energy harvesting antenna. Presumably, you won't need aerials sticking out of your eyeballs.

Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Although Google has filed the patent, that's no guarantee that we'll see the idea come to life anytime soon, or even at all. Many patents are filed by tech firms and never see the light of day.

This is one, though, that we'll keep our eye on.

Imagine if it could act like sunglasses and tint the eye when it was to bright out or you had a headache!
Tell you that would solve most of my issues right there, but hopefully there is no advertising that pops up well you sleep or
apps that you need to keep closing. Who knows what road they tend to go down with this. Scary and interesting at the same time.

Enjoy the future...
