I personally won't be buying it, or any other altcoins made by big corporations. At least it's a bit of promotion for crypto currencies in general, though.

Don't be very optimistic about this coin. It can do more harm to the crypto market than good. A large chunk of the current crypto market can shift to this coin, given the huge user-base that Facebook is having currently. On top of that, Facebook may try to monopolize the crypto-market, by destroying the other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ether.
We cant still conclude yet but this is possible but i dont see that it would happen on higher chances. We might see some big shifts but those are just good
shorting or simply people mostly on crypto will just jump in for the sake of profits.Ripping off money for those newbie investors of this coin who do just been
dragged out on the hype but for those people who are aware on potential will always come back to btc.
Let's not worry that much about of this new coin that they want to release because there are lots of cryptocurrencies showing lately but some of us never complain about it. And besides that, there are rumors that facebook coin is not a cryptocurrency because it is a centralized coin which is facebook company only have controls of them.

I don't really like a centralized coin because they can easily take it out to you without your consent.

The stabel coin is not suitble for an investment place so you don't need to buy it if your concern to make it as an investment. This coin just have an intention to be use as a payment system in the online field. The feature maybe will set as easy as possible for the payment system so as can attract lots of people to use it. Buy bitcoin if you intend for investing and don't another coins instead it.

This is the right answer! I`m not interested in fb at all, and they can do what ever they wish but that will not change the fact about who they are really. People should look for alternatives, there are good ones, I transferred my attention on other decentralized social networks and I don`t care for facebook, I think majority of smart people left that boat long time ago.

I don't see any clarification on this on a Facebook company, it is still planning just like what happened last year still rumor that they have going to launch coin or make their own coin but until now nothing happens. Well, if Facebook successfully launched this project as we expected cryptocurrency will pump up all the prices. For sure it will have mass adoption on it because this platform has a thousand or billions of subscribers.

Just positive thinking if it is true that Facebook will be involved in crypto, this is definitely a very good advertisement for development for Crypto itself that has been recognized by large companies. hoping to be passionate for the development of crypto in the future.

Well i honestly think that it is highly overrated and over hyped, do we really need a coin to use on Facebook, Instagram or wahtsup, sure they are popular and it will think that it will be successful  at first because people know that facebook has already an wide established number of people, but people will realize that it will be kind of useless, i think that this is an attempt of make huge profit from the company and ride upon the idea of making a coin, but it will die out after a couple of months after its launch.

it seems normal if people overhyped with this such kind news. Facebook is a major company with having another famous social media like Instagram and famous chat messenger like whatsapp. If the cryptocurrency going implement on every aspect of any facebook, it will give a good awareness to a whole people on global to figure out what cryptocurrency is

Anybody can see that any corporate coin is highly overrated and overhyped. Even JPMorgan coin which is a bank's coin is overhyped. So what? People are still going to use it if they will be given it out free in the beginning (and they will,,, trust me, just like the Paypal model for free balance plus referral bonuses). People collect useless game coins all the time, why not useless Facebook coin?

Why they are waiting for a long time to launch their cryptocurrency I think there is some intention inside them to launch the cryptocurrency in the profitable time so I think the 2020 has some kind of expectation in everyone's mind that's why the decision is like this.
You can ask yourself why they banned ICO advertising on their platform last year.

It was all well planned by their management and it's still kind of surprising that they've come out with that idea.

For this, the team must have thought about it well. The launch time requires more mature thinking to be right on target and as expected. Many are impatient with the next step in Facebook, and we will see enthusiastic Facebook consumers who have contributed to this.

Wow that's good news, facebook-class companies will launch crypto currencies themselves, maybe this will be easy in their sales system because almost everyone has a facebook account and public trust is high. But what is still my question is, what coin will it function for, just for payment of advertising needs or what?

Till now they didn't give any clarity on it, for what purpose they are launching the cryptocurrency. The good sign is in the coming year 2020 Facebook is launching their own cryptocurrency and even they didn't mention in which blockchain they are launching the cryptocurrency.

I am not against any development, but let me explain why this Facebook coin is not good for the cryptocurrency community,

1. Centralized: Facebook is working on a virtual currency and not cryptocurrency. It will be a centralized coin where Facebook will have full control.

2. Non - Anonymous: even though bitcoin ia not fully anonymous, that's why we often call bitcoin as a pseudo anonymous coin. But Facebook coin will be strictly a non-anonymous coin because they will have to comply with various legal restrictions.

3. Limited usability: the Facebook coin will have limited usability. There coin will be used within the Facebook network only.

Even after having these limitations, Facebook will make big impact in the virtual currency market because of its Global brand name. Due to this reason they will eat out a big chunk of investment from the cryptocurrency market.

So I personally don't see a reason to cheer for a centralized coin. Whenever something new is served to your plate, always look at the bigger picture and accordingly decide!
I see it this way as well, while this could help to spread the awareness of cryptocurrencies around the world to people that have never heard of them the truth is that facebook is one of the most centralized services around the world and I do not really expect their coin to be any different, so such coin will be useless for us and it is even possible it could divert away investors from this market to their coin which is not good since this market is still in a development stage.

If you mean you're "excited for it" I pity you, and if you ever buy Facebook's shitcoin, I will double that pity.

I wouldn't go so far as to say only suckers use Facebook, because that would be insulting people I know who aren't suckers, but man....people who use it just don't value their privacy at all.  Facebook is probably worse than google in that respect, and I try not to use google's services when possible, but they're everywhere.

As far as FB's coin goes, I'm not sure how much of a splash it's going to make.  As I said in another thread, the best thing I see coming from it is that it might get people interested in real cryptos like bitcoin.  I don't know many details about it, though.  At the very least it'll be interesting to see how it works, if it catches on, and if it's just another privacy-destroying tool Facebook is going to add to its armament.

Yes this is very likely to occur. I even think of the functions of Facebook by presenting coin coins like this, I think people are more than enough to use all the features of Facebook till today, and the combination of crypto and social media I think are additional ideas that make things worse. If this things really happen, they might already ruins their own platform.
Yes.This will surely happen if they will put this into real action.A lot of people will be exposed to this coin because facebook nowadays would be the best outlet for majority of the people knowing all of us are always updating our own account. But if this coin falls, then it will surely might affect the image of facebook.
