The news is very good, of course, but most likely this is because they want to launch their own crypto currency!
I guess they have come to realize how much they have lost since the ban and they decided to reconsider, crypto industry within it's few years of existence has worth so much money and it will increase in the near future.

It is good news in the whole but I am also sceptical whenever it comes to facebook, they never do anything unless it benefits them, facebook must have some plans for blockchain or crypto's if they are letting them put ad's on. It's going to be an interesting second half to the year i think.

Thank you for the informative news. If Facebook unbans the cryptocurrency and bitcoins add it will be a big promotion and marketing for cryptocurrency and bitcoin. I hope this step by facebook will change the total scenario of the crypto industry. Moreover, I don’t blame them for banning ICOs. Because most of them are scams.

Good move, will make it possible for coins that are post ICO to be able to build excitement in the secondary market to help support prices. Even though this has just been officially stated, it is obvious this is something that has been going on or at least tested for a while now and same goes for Google as well since the article also mentioned that, as I have seen some verified ads as well as pages after the initial ban. However, this is a good move as this is what I have expected anyway and as long as an ICO can show its legitimacy, it will at least help clean up the space from scam ICOs trying to use the space for their devilish reasons. Obviously, these guys cannot ignore the revenue being generated from these ICO adverts, so banning them completely is not a good business option.
At least, instead of the same old way of doing things, a lot will be different now as you can at least trust the legitimacy of the project being advertised in a way. I do see some restrictions and regulations are always good against scammers.
This is really great. Actually this is needed. When Facebook banned all types of advertising that created a chaos on the mind of the investors. There was a mixed reaction on this. But now this decision will help the market and also the investors to find the good coin. This will encourage the good coins and discourage the bad coins.

What makes them wanted to do this? I mean, Facebook (social media) and Coinbase (crypto exchange/wallet) have a different business field. If Facebook wanted to buy WhatsApp and Instagram, it makes sense for me as they support the main goal (AFAIK) of Facebook, which is to connect people.
But this Coinbase, did Facebook wanted to expand their 'monopoly' to other business?
Normally, I do not see anything wrong in stuffs like this as that is how business is. The essence is to look for a space and try to take advantage of it. It is a game and it is more like trying to acquire it all as long as you can.
Exchange too anyway is more like connecting traders, so I really do not see much difference in the two. The whole ad ban thing and reversing with some regulations is a good thing actually for Facebook and the ad space for crypto.

Yes facebook lifted a ban which they inaugurated in January. After several months of evaluation, the company decided to allow some crypto ads on its platform. But facebook still prohibits ads that promote binary options and initial coin offering because it is considered a fraud. I think this can make the price of crypto like bitcoin, ethereum, etc. to rise, this is a good step taken facebook.

Let's say they wanted to help people connect in terms of financial matters, but I don't think there is not enough reason to buy Coinbase just because of that. Why the hell they want to throw away a lot of money to buy a crypto exchange when there is a lot of available options out there?
I'd rather say they wanted to produce more money, by owning one of the biggest exchange/wallet in the US (CMIIW).
The main reason is much more global! Return to ICO advertising is not only an attempt to return your income from the advertising business! Most likely in the near future we will see the launch of ICO under the auspices of Facebook itself to keep up with the Telegram! How do you like this idea?
