I believe in 2 types of aliens... benevolent ones, who would talk to us and share their technology, etc... if these were here, I'd like to think it would be obvious

The other type would be conquerors... they would likely kill us all within seconds, and we'd never see it coming... so these haven't visited us... at least not since perhaps the last major extinction event... that could have been aliens
