Who the fuck cares if you're a Hero Member or a Jr. Member? I don't see why this is something to complain about. You talk about equality and transparency. The only differences between the ranks are post time intervals (to prevent spam, which makes sense) and signature elements.

I guess no one cares. The only problem that only those members can give Trust rating that changes overall Trust of a member.

You probably should have PM'ed the one that left it and tried to fix it before the tirades but from this thread, pride is getting in the way.

But the way this forum treats "newbies" is just ugly.

No, the way newbies treat this forum as a free money dispenser is what's ugly.

If all people would do that, we would have 1000 Bitcoin forums. What the point it that!

Ultimate decentralization, isn't that what you're aiming for?

You want to take advantage of this forum but you don't want to conform to its rules and etiquette. You also seem to be doing the same thing on Reddit. I don't think you have any standing to complain about being treated poorly.

Certainly going around calling people assholes and cunts probably isn't the best way to earn merit or establish a positive reputation.

You can do it, just make sure they are indeed assholes and cunts. I would merit a good insult.

Hey bud. You and I both registered in October last year. We are both as newbie as each other. Yet you are a Junior Member with 3 merit, and I'm a Senior Member with >300.

Maybe the problem isn't with the system, but with you? Certainly going around calling people assholes and cunts probably isn't the best way to earn merit or establish a positive reputation.

If you don't like this forum, you are free to start your own. Please give the link and we will go there, bitch and take over.

Such a stupid advice. If all people would do that, we would have 1000 Bitcoin forums. What the point it that!

And about complaining and taking over. I though Bitcointalk was supposed to be decentralized like the Bitcoin, but here some jerks run the show. Bitcointalk is the opposite of Bitcoin. I think these guys should rather run FIAT forum, it more aligned with their philosophy.

Stupid is what you and a few others are doing because you don't like the way the forum runs. Take it up with theymos and stop spamming the forum with useless posts.
Stupid is trying to change a forum to suit a handful of malcontents.
Stupid is not education yourself on things you think you know but really don't.

If you're not complaining about making pretty signatures or posting more often, then you're just mad that it's too difficult to enter signature campaigns, which have brought forth a cesspool of money-driven users.

As I stated: When people come into an established forum and try to take it over, people get pissed. Add to that most Newbies are really not Newbies but alt. accounts trying to scam others or spam the sig campaigns. When you see this over and over, it makes you a Newbie skeptic.

And what comes to Newbies not being real Newbies. Yes of course people have to do that, when some assholes poison their accounts. Now I will have to do this too.

I've been here a long time and have put up with a lot of know it all Newbies. There was a Newbie Jail at that time.
If you want to bitch about Merit and Trust, complain to the one that implemented it, theymos, I had nothing to do with it.
What gives you any right to join a forum and want to change it to suit your needs?

I'm not blaming you. But the way this forum treats "newbies" is just ugly. I though Bitcoin was about equality and transparency, but this forum is the opposite of Bitcoin. This forum is like old school bank world where cronyism is ruling.

Post something worthy of reading.

I have posted a lot. Go check my other topics.

What did you do to earn your 1000 Merits?

This is because old users do not give Merit to new users.

Post something worthy of reading. Selling accounts has been going on for a long time, early days it was for pulling scams, now it's to earn BTC.
Seriously, you don't know as much as you think you do, I suggest you read up on the Trust system, why it was implemented, account selling and forum etiquette.

Actually I do.

They buy them, because it's not possible to become Hero or Legendary member anymore.

Old account may have same amount of Merit as posts, but new account have 100 less Merit than posts.

This is because old users do not give Merit to new users.

Also new users rating don't matter, only rating of old users change the Trust of a member.

The whole system is based on cronyism.

It is fair in the sense that those users did not start on it, DT2 members did not start on it rather they earned their positions with the contributions they made for the forum.

What contributions? This is just bullshit.

This is also the reason why people keep buying Full Member, Hero or Legendary accounts. Because members are not treated equally!

There's nothing fair in the trust system, when only inner circle can rate others. This is just plain cronyism. No fairness even in sight.

There is no restriction on who can rate whom. You should know that, you posted a bunch of retaliatory ratings already.

Also - you can stop PMing me. You're not my type.

That's because you don't understand how the trust system here works, or what the culture of bitcointalk is all about.  Had you understood the latter you might have avoided the negative feedback that's gotten you all in a snit.  Most of the human beings behind Vod's negative feedback should have been put in a jar upon birth--and you wonder why their feedback isn't trusted.

I see this Vod has gotten 20 times more negative feedback, than positive, but all negative feedback is market as "untrusted". Doesn't seem fair.

Goodbye jerks!
OK then.  We're all waiting for you to leave, then we'll vacuum and start cleaning up the silly string.
