I pitied if there are some users who downloaded these wallet and app Im sure they are toasted with it since they got a fake one.
Noobs are always the victim here, if they are desperate to get involved in the booming community of pancake sometimes they are not using their instinct but jumping to the opportunity .
good that OP share this here so we can spread the word to our connections so there will be no more victims .
not just being a noob that can get you hacked, if you're not careful enough you can fall for things like this or make some mistakes, people have to check constantly the website they're entering and the app they're downloading, mostly what i do is i go to the website for example Pancakeswap and get the app link from there, and if i can't find it, i google and see if they have one, to avoid things like this people need to be more careful with everything they do on the internet to avoid stuff like that.

There are so many fake app in google play store. We shouldn't download the app directly from play store. We should download app from official website. Thanks OP for sharing this news. We can be careful now.

Cryptocurrencies spaces is a new thing, not to mention the whole of spaces are still struggling to overcome UX issues. So I doubt instinct plays its part here. It's rather I believe the mainstream has a lot of things to grasp within this space, which is truly different from what they used to be, the traditional ones, it makes them has to reconditioned to what it is all about cryptocurrency is. Of course that some of them come to this space because of wanting to get rich quick, I can't deny it, but impulsive greed is what makes most of them get scammed a lot.

The burden of getting scammed and any crypto-malware that keep getting existed shouldn't be relied only upon by newcomers getting lured. It should be a collaborative effort to prevent it from happening again.

Once they have an app then that woukd be the the start of apancake centralized platform. Im pretty sure the app we can see on stores or any websites are fake since they only had dapp present on famous 3rd party site such as trustwallet, metamask and some others.

Not only fake app but also have fake Pancakeswap website. Scammers use new methods all the time to deceive us. Blindly downloading from play store or app store should not be right.  Downloading from the official website is right. This applies to all apps.
It becomes much more easier for scammers to promote fake domains using google by just paying few pennies for ads then they will automatically appear in top of the first page google search. How many times should users report fake links to google? Does there any way to report the automated Google's algorithm itself? If it continues in this way, i won't be surprised see more victims in addition to the appearance of more scammers as well.

Fortunately, that fake website was down after several reports from users who was victims connecting their wallets to it. I searched into this case and discovered that there was two domains registered lately in Namecheap as a copied version of the PancakeSwap called pacanakeswap:
Code:
pacanakeswap.me
Code:
pacanakeswap.cc

From another side, i still consider PancakeSwap team is partially responsible if it doesn't alert users in different communication channels about the fake website copies and about the fake mobile apps as well.

Scammers nowadays never get tired of making such schemes just to take advantage to someone who doesn't have a clue. We can't do anything to those people who got scammed since they don't really do their own research first and I believe they just heard this pancakeswap to someone or must have read it somewhere. This will be the result of someone who's too lazy to do some background check before handing their money to someone.

Of course, scammers would use this opportunity since pancakeswap had been widely used nowadays. But newbies will easily be fooled by these if they don't know anything.

These scammers/hackers are trying it very hard. They know that there will be people that they can victimized because of having lack of experience and knowledge towards these scam and fake apps.

The part of Google as I know, they are trying to clean their platform of removing and banning those apps. But how quick they are to respond with such proliferation of fake apps on their platform?

Are those people stupid enough? The swap platform was a web based application. I guess it will be accessible through use web. Any application that claimed or released on the various application market just like IOS or Playstore were scam. It can be accessed through use the official wallet that integrated with the pancakeswap like trustwallet or safepal. People are so lazy to do DYOR.
They were using without even talked to the someone who know more than those people who got scammer. This is a big surprise for me to see there are people got fooled by scam app.

In fact, users trust google to not provide scammy apps while this is so far to be true based on the successful scams through Google Play. It's not a stupidity to miss the info that PancakeSwap hasn't yet a mobile app version, but to blindly trust google.

And the more weird is that PancakeSwap Twitter (has more than 1M followers) didn't announce about the scam apps despite all the reports made in different channels.

The reviews contain different horrible tales of users complaining that they lost thousands of dollars a few minutes after providing their private keys.
I have checked this fake app (reported as down), and in about 100 reviews there is only one negative review. This is normal that people download it in bulk:

Pancakeswap which is a decentralized exchange has never had a download app on Playstore and it's clear what the OP is showing is a fake app created by scammers to enter Seed/Phrasa so I think with so many downloads maybe those who are victims don't know what then we have to check more carefully and I've used Pancakeswap for swaps never used it not even interested at all while the official announcement wasn't there.
It must be careful for beginners never download the pancakeswap application except by accessing the original URL site.

I didn't even know there was an app for Pancakeswap (not as if I doubted there would be, anyway. After all, most projects and sites have apps.) on Playstore before now. I use Pancakeswap but I do trade on it through Trust Wallet by connecting on the DApp. I should think that's the easiest way to go about trading on Pancakeswap. It's similar to what is explained on the
How to trade on Trust wallet with the Poocoin app
thread too. These shortcuts are legit and do not take you away from the main site. Again, anyone trying to download an exchange or token app should always (I mean, always) go through the coinmarketapp/Coingecko site to get the authentic website of the project and route through that.

Pancakeswap swap is a decentralized exchange that was founded in 2020 and has since undergone numerous updates. Pancakeswap is built on the Binance blockchain, which allows you to quickly swap coins on the Binance blockchain. Pancakeswap is distinct due to its minimal transaction fee, and Binance blockchain transactions are simple and quick.
I just read in the news that some scammers took the time to construct a bogus app on Google Play with the sole intention of scamming individuals using the app. Which I also examined, and I'm convinced it's a fraudulent app based on user's reviews.
Scammers will be able to see your private key whenever you download the fake app and try to steal your fund. Seriously, we just have to be very careful about the App we download now, and the websites we visit, because scammers are trying everything they can to defraud people.

Three Fake PancakeSwap Apps Flood Google Play Store With 12K+ Downloads
A Redditor has drawn the attention of the crypto community to three fake mobile apps for Binance Smart Chain-based decentralized exchange PancakeSwap mobile applications found on the Google Play Store.

The Redditor named u/R_PH noted that he came across the applications on the popular Android app store while checking some updates.

Shocked that he may have missed the official release of the mobile version of the popular BSC-based exchange, the Redditor did research, which showed that scammers had created the apps in order to steal unsuspecting victims’ private keys.

Fake PancakeSwap App Gaining Traction
A quick search on Google Play Store confirmed that three fake PancakeSwap apps have been live on the platform and are gradually gaining traction.
At the time of writing, the apps have recorded more than 12,000 downloads combined, and they seemed to be uploaded this month given the reviews on their respective pages.

Many Users Scammed
Judging from the reviews, some people have already fallen prey to the fake apps. The hackers succeeded in stealing users funds through their private keys.

The reviews contain different horrible tales of users complaining that they lost thousands of dollars a few minutes after providing their private keys.

u/R_PH has called on the cryptocurrency community on Reddit to join other users in reporting the application as a scam, before it wrecks more havoc.

It is worth noting that PancakeSwap does not yet have a mobile application and all its functions are still web-based.

Fake Crypto Apps Becoming Popular
The practice of scammers creating cryptocurrency-related applications and uploading them on popular app stores is becoming more common these days.

Coinfomania reported a similar development about popular Ethereum-based decentralized exchange Uniswap late last year.

Per the report, hackers had uploaded their version of the exchanges’ app, stealing users’ keys and gaining unrestricted access to their funds.

Similarly, a crypto user said that he lost 17.1 Bitcoin (BTC) to a fake Trezor wallet application he downloaded from the Apple Store.

Google is Not Helping Matters
The unfortunate incident caused many people to wonder how the malefactors were able to pass through Google’s advance security procedures to have the app listed for weeks, while continuing to cause users’ losses.

Despite calls by users to take down the app, the application is still relaxing comfortably on the platform, with its number of downloads increasing by the day.

Staying Safe
While it is not in users’ power to stop these illicit applications from finding their way to popular app stores, users are advised to take adequate measures to keep themselves safe.

Before downloading crypto-related applications, it is advisable you conduct due diligence, including researching whether there is an app for the service you want to use.

You should also take note of the number of downloads the app has gathered so far, as well as what existing users are saying about the application via the review section.
