Are faucets worth it?

I mean could i make some bucks with a faucet, or many?
No, its not. Definitely not worth for your effort and on your precious time but honestly speaking when I was still a newbie on bitcoin world I do really start on this faucets which I earn small amounts of satoshi on a long periods of time which later on when I do gain knowledge I realize that its not really worth it but I was still thankful into these faucets back in the past because of this it gives me basic knowledge on how to transact with bitcoins. For now just listed to our advices here. Better to look up on other money making ways than on faucets.

You can make money with faucets but it really time consuming and need a lot of effort, I think it is not worth your time, however it will be a great way to earn and to learn how to earn for a beginner and most of the beginner start from faucets, once you know other way to earn, you won't back to collect faucets anymore

No, it's totally unworthy, if you want to spend your time to work with the faucet, it's really very wasteful, you should find a better job, because they do not give us free money. , And we are working stupidly to receive a small amount of money.

The answer is yes, you can make some buckets with faucets. The question is, is the income profitable considering the time spent, the electricity you spend on your pc/laptop, the wear and tear of your device, the internet cost, etc.? If you add up all, the earnings will be at a loss compared to the investment. Still, it's the easiest way to earn and play with some bitcoin dust though.

As an owner, yes but it will take time and we are not even sure if people will still attract to the faucet system. On the other hand, as a normal user, forget it. I suggest to think of other method to earn bitcoin. Doing faucet will eat too much of your time but still, the payout is low.

We valued our time that's why the payout must be worth the effort which is not present in faucet activities nowadays.

Hey, i mean as a owner, yes, i'm developer and i'm hunting the way to earn bitcoins, so it is worth to develop a fauces from scratch, with some nice RPG feature to level up, and earn more for the end user?

Or having more as one faucet, how much money could i earn?

I wouldn't not say faucets are unprofitable, there wouldn't be so many faucets if the faucet admins weren't making any profits. Some of the RPG faucets by mexicantarget are quite popular. Since you are a developer you can create a custom unique faucet. Generic faucet scripts have no variety, somewhat same rewards and timer, users visit, claim, leave, lack of user engagement. Moon bitcoin does have daily loyalty bonus, same with RPG faucets, users actively engage in these sites to increase their earnings.

Don't start a faucet expecting big returns in the beginning, you might end up in loss in the first couple of weeks, but with good user engagement and ad monetization you will start to make small profits gradually.

Faucets used to be profitable 3 years ago. if you kept what you earned than until today.  These days a faucet webpage drives you mad with adds popping up, you can never find a place to click.

He's saying that what you earn today, could be worth a lot more in the future. He wasn't saying that today you could find a faucet that pays 1000-5000 sats per hour, but that it was possible in the past (which is true).
So the earnings you made in the past, could be worth a couple of 100 dollars, if you really spent enough time on faucets back then.

I still think it's a waste of time though, you could also focus on something more lucrative today and save those Bitcoins, then you'll have a couple of 1000 dollars unstead of hundreds. Smiley
Yes it still waste time though
but since bitcoin rate increase high nowdays, many people looking to earn it from many ways.
But yes, if @OP want to run faucet, maybe @OP could give good rate earn for these interest, as long as you have good planning in return way.

Faucets are mostly a waste of time, the payouts are too small to begin with. I started earning bitcoin through faucets. I worked on about forty faucets and I received about $0.05 per hour.

This translates to about 0.4 cents a day, or $10 a month if you slave hard enough.  Can you imagine yourself surviving on $10 a month?  That wouldn't pay for my internet fees. Plus eletricity it probably cost more, I just don't see any benefits.

Please read the thread before you post. OP wants to start a faucet, not use a faucet. ^grrrrrrr^ You are also wrong about the faucet not being worth it based on the worth of the few Satoshis you get for Free. I used faucets way back then, when payouts was between 1000 to 5000 satoshi's per hour. I also got lucky and won some jackpots and I also received FREE Satoshi's from my referral network. < I did nothing and still received this passive income from the referrals >

Based on today's Bitcoin price those Satoshis added up to a significant amount of money. So I have zero regrets that I participated in faucets back then. ^smile^

Are you both the same person? Why are you parroting each other? Yes, I read the entire thread and I am sure redigaffi would appreciate an honest opinion from someone who has earned from faucets.
In my opinion (you may like it or not), faucets are a waste of time. Both for the worker and owner. More so based on today's prices, nobody pays 1000 to 5000 satoshi's per hour. If you find one that pays that much, please let me know.

Buddy, in my opinion faucet business is a good business if you get enough traffic. When you step into the faucet business, you wont get any profit. You have to pay all users from your pocket in the beginning. Once the alexa rank of your site grows ,you can apply to cointraffic as well as bitmedia. if they accept your site ,then you will start generating profits from your site. Finally when the alexarank of your site reaches <200000 you can apply to mellow ads. After getting approval from mellowads you will start getting a decent profit from your site.

Yes faucet is profitable but as op said I take some time . If you have good fund to pay your users then it will not take more time to grow your faucets.
And after getting approval from coin traffic and bitmedia  and mellowads your faucet will definitely give you more profit.
If you know coding then it will help you to stop bots.
No, I don't think it is profitable now to have Bitcoin faucets, especially when the transaction fees may be higher than the earnings from faucets. There might be a future for altcoins, but the thing is altcoins may not be that popular. Even if you are using a microwallet to send earnings directly to their account (E.g. FaucetHub), you may have to pay deposit fees and so. Fees are inevitable.

Plus faucets are quite saturated already, and it is difficult to get traffic. You would need to have creativity and skills to make your site look nice, and if you can do that, I suggest you to do other things with your talent. Smiley Don't let it go to waste. Wink
Agree with this answer, I have the same thoughts about running a faucet these days. In addition, Adsense pays higher than any other ad networks but it seems that they are not allowing the use of it on faucets. You can't even put many ads in the site since it would be annoying to the users, so how could you earn decent amount? Those being said, your expense might end up higher than your profit in my opinion.
As i said it will take some time to grow faucets, i am running faucets  but i am not in loss even i am not in any "good" profit but atleast it gave me some profit or we can say it's free money without doing much work.
Mellow ads is the best way to make decent profit, adsense will not allowed on faucets

I am not sure there are many faucet sites currently ,there was a time when faucets was the way to make a start in the bitcoin echo system and then there was faucet box which made many faucet sites possible and they had to close down because things were not smooth when the transaction fees increased and google banned faucet advertisement. If you think you can make bits using faucets, then good luck with it.

Google banned us as well... it was a fairly heavy hit, but not bad.

Blessing in disguise I'm sure.

The only countries where faucets are still worth doing them are the countries where 1 or 2 usd do have a really good value for daily spendings. These countries are very few but they do exist, people in India for example I know they do click faucet rotators for a few hours a day together with clicking ptc sites and watching traffic exchange ads. Together all these three adds up to an average Indian.
I know Indians do this as many of them keep asking me on some of my facebook pages how to make money with bitcoin so I have pointed them to the faucet rotators and or solving captchas as a beginning.

For starters I think faucets are great to make some satoshis ! of course you don't make much from faucets but with them you start learning the concept of bitcoins, and with that knowledge you can build your faucet, because with that I believe you can do more than just clicking from faucets ! You can also do lots of faucets at once, but that will take a lot of time from you.

No,no,no and NO.

Faucets re completely worthless piece of crypto industry. They re worthless for both sides, people who use them get pennies for hours of clicking and advertisers get nothing in return cause people who use them re usually not able to buy whatever s being advertised and that s why they chase pennies in the first place.

All in all, faucets re waste of time.

If you can find a concept that is fun and unique, then you might make a bunch of money. Faucets like Freebitco.in is not successful because of the faucet, but more about the other added services that is included. < gambling / lottery / banking / mining  > You should attract people to some RPG game for instance and then add the faucet as part of the incentive for people to play for free. < The faucet is used as entry fee >  ^smile^

Don't even bother. You earn pennies on the pennies. lol

It is better to find a real-life job, and set aside part of your paycheck to buying Bitcoin. Heck, if it multiplies by 100 again then every hour you work today is actually worth 100... pretty cool.

here one of a thread in this forum talking about revenue of the faucet owner https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-much-can-a-faucet-owner-earn-from-his-newly-open-faucet-1628390

I also heard that many faucet sites getting banned from google adsense if i'm not wrong due to the people spent a very short time on those sites, so for this reason i think you might creating something that people could spend long time on your site, in this case adding some  offers like watching video and playing games to earn btc, or something fun. i personaly really like earn bitcoin while doing those activities rather than solving chaptha.

The difference is MooBitcoin and Freebitco have now a large users base making it worth to sell advertissement slots on their websites. When you start a faucet you start from scratch and it takes a huge amount of time before hoping to reach their level. Most of owers trick users with pop up, 50 banners ads (generating revenues from Ad networks) and irrating google captchas, click the anti bot link, ect. I find finally it's a good thing that Adsense banned this type of websites

I've looked at Moon Bitcoin and Moon Litecoin just now, but found them quite annoying.  If you click once a day, it's not so bad, and there are mystery bonus percentages on top occasionallly, as well as a daily 1% loyalty bonus, but expect to sit around for at least a month to see some kind of return which might or might not be worth your time.  I found the captchas annoying and wondered why I couldn't just pop a click in without a captcha.  There are ways to allow people to run a script to 'click' without the site getting bothered by bots, malicious crawlers, or getting DOS'd etc.
