in my opinion this is a few coins, an etherium and litcoin, as according to statistics the vtarya less sagged on the side of it to the other coins of the beginning of the year...
Please, i have no interest in your projections, I'm more interested in the technology behind the coin you deem your favorite for 2018. So having said that, what is YOUR favorite coin, and what will it do for: technology/blockchain/financial fields?
The ether has made a jerk, although it can be perceived differently - bitcoin dropped. While the etherium is in second place in capitalization, many financial analysts are confident that this is only a temporary phenomenon. Very soon the broadcast ahead of the MTC for market capitalization, having ranked the first on this criterion.
In my portfolio there are a lot of projects from the top. But there are also small projects. For example, I really like the Bancor project. I see how the team was able to develop their project over the past year. They work very fast. I think that in the future the platform will become very popular.
I prefer the coin EOS)) I Like their technology as I think it has great prospects for growth in the near future! 
Yes, I must admit that EOS and maybe NEO are quite good, too. The best and my favourite coins are bitcoin and ethereum, despite of the year

I have some favorite coins for 2018, but by the description or by the roadmap you not always can understand how useful or effective this or that coin is. I chose stellar and iost, just because of reasons of efficiency, good growth, and professional team.
As for me, this coin is bitcoin. I think that it is possible to rely on bitcoin as it is of high demand today. As for me, this is the favorite coin of most people in 2018 and it is really deserve it.
If it is solely the tech that you are looking for to find the next gem, then look no further. Without any doubt it is Zcash with its zk snarks. The only downside of zec is the premine share that the team has, which is 10% of the total supply.
Pay attention, this topic is not written by experienced market players. Because they like nobody knows in their experience, and are tired of repeating that the best investment in crypto-currencies is BITCOIN!

My favorite coin in 2018 is Connect Job, because I think CJT has a spare to get into the top 200 by the end of the year. And my second favorite coin is lympo.
