Would have to be Electronic Arts - Syndicate and Syndicate Wars. Would go Rambo style and play to the early hours.

This game has a really good 3d graphic:) Just look at the screen! Smiley His hand looks amazing! Cheesy

Hehe. It really was great game.
1995

It was 19 years ago ... man... Smiley

I remember this, that along with Heretic, Chaos Engine etc. Awesome games that defined an era of gaming, for me at least.

Yes game like those changes a lot in gaming history.

And I remember one important thing what was most amazing in "old" games - a gameplay! Smiley a story! Graphic was like it was - but those games had a spirit.

Crusader: No Remorse is another one of my favourites

It was a 1st game that I bough as an not-pirate copy Tongue Tongue

This game was awesome and I remember till today few missions and cutscenes Smiley

Crusader series all of them very good!
And I think even "No regret" was quite better Smiley

Cheers!
ah i missed out on "No Regret".
nearly every game i played in those times i got pirated from friends, cause i didn't have the pocket money for legal copies.
monkey island II, Worms and Grand Theft Auto were the first i really spent money on.

even today i dig the pre-rendered isometric perspective in these old titles. i like it so much more compared to most games with 3D-Engines because of the amount of detail in the assets & environments.
e.g. here's a full view of a Little Big Adventure level
and my all-time favourite Fallout: http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090411155652/fallout/images/d/d3/Fo2_New_California_Republic_Satellite_View.jpg

Pizza Connection aka Pizza Tycoon

Pizza Tycoon scared me shitless as a kid... not like Phantasmagoria or other "horror" games where you expect it. Something about it deeply disturbed me, like I thought the developer was playing with me before stabbing me through the monitor. Idunno -- you know how kids can get paranoid about strange things... maybe it's time I face my deepest fear...

Definitely XCOM, though, as a favorite. I still pick it up every few years. There was also some kind of drug tycoon/sandbox/rpg/whatever game I liked which I haven't been able to ever find (I did find Homey the Clown again and have no idea why I enjoyed that game when I was little, though at least Castle of the Winds still holds up). I don't remember the FPS games I played as a kid... they all looked about the same. Cheesy

really  Cheesy?
well it never frightened me as a kid but i learned at the innocent age of 10 years the harsh reality
that you could make more money in this game by smuggling weapons between countries than selling pizza.  Grin

Sadly i missed out on the the whole XCOM series (only played the reboot last year and loved it), i played a lot of  turnbased strategy though when I grew older like Jagged Alliance 1 & 2 and Fallout 1 & 2.

the only crime related games i can think of from these times are Grand Theft Auto, Crime Fighter and the textual based Drug Lord.

damn i sank so many days of my life into these games...and it was worth every second  Grin

edit: I just found this nice list of worthwhile dos games

I recommend opentyrian.

Do you remember the music?  Come back to me Savara?  Rock Garden?
